I need some feedback from you guys and gals.

My current plan:

F&C 500AT - $40
Night & Weekend Minutes @ 7 $5.00
Unlimited Sprint Mobile to Mobile Calling $5.00
2 WAY TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE $5.00
Sprint PCS VisionSM Pictures Pack $15.00
Sprint PCS Total Equipment Protection $6.00

So everything comes out to $76 before taxes so around $85 after.

I have called rententions once they gave me this offer

F&C 1000 AT - $40
Night & Weekend Minutes @ 7 - Free
Unlimited Sprint Mobile to Mobile Calling - Free
2 WAY TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE $5.00
Sprint PCS VisionSM Pictures Pack $15.00
Sprint PCS Total Equipment Protection $6.00
and a 10% discount

So that comes out about $60 before taxes

The increase in AT is nice but I only use about 250-300 out of 500 AT minutes a month so AT minutes aren't really an issue for me but it is always good to have the capabilty to talk more.

The NW @ and unlimited pcs 2 pcs for free is a pretty good deal. The bulk of my minutes (3000-5000) is on pcs 2 pcs because my girlfriend has sprint also so that helps.

What I am concerned about is my vision plan. I have three PV phones and recently when I do ESN swap the CSR notices that I have a PV phone on a regular vision plan. They say there will be issue but I know for a fact that my vision perfectly. It will just be a matter of time before sprint puts the hammer down on gf'ed vision on PV phones.

I wouldn't mind having a PV plan as long as I can have umlimited SMS for $5 or free. Is it true that gf'ed umlimited SMS is incompatible with a PV plan?

Could I get anything else?

I just want to get the most out of retentions before I go through with the :deal:.

Thanks for the feedback, Jon.

Sprint will not want to lower your retenton offering from $40, the offer is to increase minutes. Sadly you dont need the minutes! You will save $10/month plus tax by accepting the "new" offer.

Do you have 3 lines on 3 seperate plans now? If so, you may be able to combine then into one plan and save money there.

As far as the PV goes............ retentions called EVDO and inquired when I bought the A920 for my wife. We were not required to switch to a PV plan and kept free vision and UL text. You just dont get the "perks" of a PV plan like certain things being included (some sprint TV?) For us, it was a better option to keep the free vision and she still gets EVDO speeds.

Lastly, do you get a business or loyalty discount? Your new plan would save you $10 a month so it wold be $66/month. Sprint should offer you some loyalty discount also!

Lastly, this thread belongs in "tips and tricks" as thats where most retention questions go. As such, im moving it!

Yeh sorry the 10% indicated about was a loyal discount.

I also have a 8% student discount to take advantage of.

so how many phones do you have active? all on seperate plans? That may be a way to save even more, by moving them all onto a larger shared plan with say 1200 or so minutes. The 1200 minute retention shared plan is $60 and add a phones can be had at $10/line.

It all depends on your situation though. I have 3 lines sharing 1000 minutes and never come close to using them all with my other perks (free mobile to mobile, FIMF, 6pm nights, free sprint 2 home, roaming included to name a few). after taxes, my bill was $80.09 last month.

Right now I have one plan and only one line on that phone. I have three phone and I swap between each of them.

My mom has been bugging me to open a line for her but I don't know why she already has the slvr for cingular. So I am thinking about opening another line. I really like your plan how did u get it, do you think I could get that plan?

I've been with sprint for a little over 2years, I always pay my bill on time, and I don't call sprint whining for freebies. So I really don't know if I have the clout or meet the criteria to receive a plan like yours.

Here's what ya do. You get the second line on a shared plan for your mom and have her split the bill :music:

Seriously, you were overpaying for the 7pm and mobtomob so at least that's straightend out. You got 10% that's good, do you think you could push for 15%?
How about that 8% discount, rather weak; are you SURE you don't work for one of the employers listed in the discount sticky? You SURE ;) because it would seem that judging by SprintUsers, SEARS Roebuck and UPS have like.....13 million employees :p

Good luck son!

Please do not suggest that anyone may work someplace they dont. Its defrauding sprint and that is NOT what this site is about!

To answer the OP's question, I got a $50 1000AT plan with free nights at 7 and paid roaming and a 5% loyalty discount. 2 weeks later I called and had the discount for my wifes employer put on and the rep informed me she was eligible for a larger one, so that was applied in addition to the discount. I switched free 7pm for free roaming and bought 6pm, m2m is included in all shared minutes plans, got FIMF back from a nice rep and had it extended to my 3rd line by eCare. Added a 10% loyalty discount thru eCare. The vision costs were grandfathered as was the text messaging.

My bill is:
$50/1000AT
Free AAP
$10 AAP
$10 6pm nights
Free roaming
$15 vision pic pack with UL text on line one
Free vision pic pack with UL text on line 2
$5 vision pic pack on line 3 with 100 text messages
3 X $6/month = $18 insurance
First Incoming Minute Free (FIMF) on all 3 lines $0
Free sprint to home

after the discounts its the $80 I quoted ya. Obvioulsy sprint will not give you all the freebies at once, but getting your mom on a shared plan with you thru retentions may raise your bill very little or not at all. Considering she wants on a plan with you and would split the bill, it should save you money. Just dont try and scam sprint on the discounts!

Man you and me are paying almost the same amount but you have three lines :irked: .

So on top the discounts they gave me what is the likelihood that I could get a free AAP and free/discounted vision and texting on that second line.

I really don't have the discounts availible to me because I help out at the family business

Credit Union membership gets a 10% business discount for being a member.

What they give you free depends on how long you have been with sprint and how big your bill is. Your best bet is to call *2, ask for cancelations and tell them that you want to know what they can do to keep you and add a line for you as you and your mother are on 2 carriers now and you need to go together so you can mobile to mobile each other. Tell em you want to know whats the best they can offer you based on 1000 shared minutes over 2 phones. If they dont offer you anything, tell them you will have your new carrier contact them when your ready to switch, so do NOT cancel account now.

You should be able to get the CU discount if your a member or join one, keep the "loyalty" discount and get a $10AAP. The discounts on vision and text, well you might get 500 text free on that line.

If by chance they tell you that you can only have one line, then see if your mom can do it in her name. You would need to do a "transfer of liability" and move your account to your mother.

Hope this helps some, im sure you will reply with other questions :)

What is this about getting a dscount if you are a credit union member and can you get that on top of a 15% business discount?
