Hello everyone, about a week ago I purchased a usb cable from 3gcables to go with my Sanyo PM 8200. Now I have unlimited vision and I setup everything the right way and I know your post to get speeds from 50k-70k on average & 144k max with perfect conditions, but it takes longer to load pages (& slower) than my sbc yahoo dialup wich connects beetween 45k-50k! Now yesterday I decided to change my COMport speed to the maxium (921600bps) and thats when something intresting happened I connected again and my computer said that I connected at 921.6kbps I knew this wasnt true because you cant connect at anything higher than 144k using the sprint vision 1x network. So I knew that my computer was showing the COMport speeds that whole time and not my actual connection speed. I did some speed test and most of them say my speed is from as slow as 30k to as high as 200k. I also DONT leave in a rural area (Houston,Tx) so I know thats not the problem. I know its not dsl but I do expect to be a little faster than my dialup! If anyone knows the problem can you please help thanks.

At my house I get as low as 1 bar & as high as 3 bars (It flutuates a lought) but down the street I get 3-5 bars

that would explain the speeds.
1-2 bars will yield 50-70kbps, most of the time.

But 50k-70k would be faster than my dialup it seems slower than my dialup does anyone have anymore suggestions?, please...

the reason why it seems slower is because 1x latency is around twice as much as dialup.
