My 2 year contract will expired next week. last night I called and asked to cancel. Sprint offer me the following plan:
3 phones
800 minutes Anytime
unlimited night and weekend start @7PM
Mobil to Mobil
15% discount
$5 per phone for power vision; I got this option for two phone only
the total is $70 + $10 = $80 before 15% discount
They also offer samsung A910 for $99
is this a good plan?

the only thing you got a deal on is the power vision, the other plan is there standard 800 minute plan, it also looks like they gave you a free add-a-phone.

For family plan, EACH phone suppose to pay $15 for power vision?
or only pay $15 for the main phone and other phones share the same PV option?
I went online trying to sign up for new family plan and new phone. it seems they charge Power vision for only one phone.

The main line is supposed to pay the full 15, then each additional line pays 7.50 (1/2 price).
They can do much better then that if they wanted to... There are some rediculous retention plans out there.

damn, that suck. I thought it is a good deal but it is not.
when you said they can do much better, do you mean they give more minutes or same minutes for less money?
I don't need more minutes than that but I rather have it for less money.

Both... Sorry...
If you've already accepted their agreement there isn't much you can do. You can try ecare and get a few perks, but retention has all the options, and you lose your firepower if you signed a new contract.

Pretty sure he still has 14 days to opt out of the new contract...at least, I did when I went through retention.
I reverted from my retention contract back to my old contract a few days later. So, I think he still has the regular 14 day period just like any new contract.
But yea, you can get better...just push a little more - but in a polite way.
You can most likely get a retnetion discount (10-15%), plus N&W at 7, or M2M...see what you can do. Good luck.

OP says $70 +$10 = $80 so I don't think they gave free add-a-phone. Sounds like a weak deal. 15% off sounds good though if it's for loyalty and not a business discount you're already entitled to.
You could do betta.

OK, I am on the phone with them again now
here is the new deal:
3 phone lines
$70
800 minutes
Unlimited N and weekend @6PM
20% discount
$7 Power vision for second and third phone, first phone got free regular vision.
he said the system won't allow him to give $5 Power vision because it is new :)
is this better?
I tried guys.

Pretty good deal and I'd probably take it. You said you don't want more minutes you want less $$ and this seems to save you $10 on 3rd line and $15 on Vision plus 20%.
Good job

I called back to verify and it was actually $70 plus $10 for the third phone. so
here we go again. the final deal is now:
550 minutes
$60 for 2 phone lines
$10 for the third phone
free unlimited night and weekend at 6PM
free regular vision
20% discount all three phones
second and third phone will have Power vision for $7 (and 20% discount)
so basically I just got a regular plan. the only good deal is 20% discount, free 6PM and
free regular vision for the first phone.
they said this is the best they can do. the system won't allow them to do better than this :)
how come some people got so much better deals?

some people who have great deals have pestered ecare for it to the point where they give it to them to shut them up.
a few members on SU have reportedly sent approx 300 emails to "accomplish" this.

This was a nice deal with the 3rd line free. Now it's still decent depending on whether you can stack an employee discount of say 15-25% on top of that 20% you're getting. That would make it quite a good deal.
You could sign this deal, stick with it for a year or so and do the 'contact ecare for freebies route.'

Well, after 3 phone calls and exhausted.
OLD PLAN:
2 phones
$60
750 minutes anytime
$5 vision for second phone
$5 night and weekend start at 7PM
%5 discount for each phone
NEW PLAN:
3 phones
$70
550 minutes anytime
Free regular vision for the first phone
$7 Power Vision per phone: for second and third phone (plus 20% discount)
Free night and weekend at 6PM
20% discount for each phone
I am tired guys. I don't want to call anymore. I am really exhausted. How in the world some people can send 300 emails to get good deal?
I want my life back :)

it is against policy to stack discounts.
it is called, pestering reps for free stuff.

My company has a 5% discount deal with sprint.
Can I not use this addtional 5%? it is against sprint policy?

it is better to keep your account within policy than to have some oddball discount bring the attention of a rep who might flag the account for an audit.

04-07-2006, 08:06 PM
You can, one thing you'll learn about Sprint after reading some posts here is that you ask 5 reps and you get 5 different answers. Many people here stack business discounts with other discounts.
One guy, can't remember his name says he stacks 3 discounts LMAO.
Maybe you should save that business discount call for another day though :)

You have to be in your own little dimension or something! Everything you ever post is negative in some way or another. It may be the truth but it doesn't matter because it's still going to happen regardless of the amount you complain. I'm sure 90% of the board population knows where you stand on getting freebies or stuff you don't deserve from Sprint, you don't need to restate it every time you post.
apparently i do have to, because every day we get more and more threads asking how you can get more and more freebies when you are in the middle of a contract, and sometimes still in the trial period.

The freebies do expire after your contract is up. I just got a family plan thru retention. I got nights starting at 7pm, and 500sms on the primary line. Both of these freebies will expire at the end of my contract. Nothing is really free, but hope.

well, I just called in again to verify if there are any mistakes.
somehow the 5% discount from my last contract got carried over the new contract.
so for the main phone, I got 20% + 5% = 25% discount :)
how could this happend? is it possible the rep misread my plan?
He123321
04-07-2006, 08:35 PM
That would be killer if the freebies did stay. I was told straight up, mine will expire at the end of my contract. The rep (Ben) told me that not all reps tell the customers that.

I bought 2 samsung 920 for $99 each over the phone when I renew my contract.
they are on their ways.
with my new plan now, I have free grandfather vision. I will try to swap the second phone with 920 without removing grandfather vision. is it possible? who would I talk to: regular customer representative or someone from rerention department? I was told by sprint that this is not possible to have grandfather vision on EVDO phone.
for the third new line, I am not sure if I can get grandfather vision on A920.

should I wait until Thur to call in and activate third line phone and swap ESN on the second phone?
