View Full Version : Question about PCS2PCS or Mobile 2 Mobile

I did some searching on the forum, but haven't been able to find an acurate answer to my question. Also checked the sprint.com/m2m FAQ, but it didn't answer it either.

Simply enough, when you have unlimited mobile 2 mobile (or PCS2PCS) on your plan, when you call someone who is also a Sprint customer (keeping Nextel & their Nextel Providers out of this conversation), do they have to have PCS2PCS on their plan for it to be free as well? For example:

1) I have unlimited mobile 2 mobile on my plan. My sister, who lives several states away is also a sprint customer, but she does not have M2M on her plan. If I call her, during peak hours (7am - 5pm), will it be free for both of us :fingers: , or only for me?

2) Same situation only reversed. Plans are the same. Times are the same. If she calls me, will she incur deductions from her anytime minutes, or will she not be "charged" any minutes because I have mobile 2 mobile?

I apologize if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!!

It will always be free for you, she'll always have to pay for the call.

That sounds right to me, but a Sprint Rep at the local Sprint Store here had told me otherwise. Said both of us would talk for free as long as I initiated the call. If she called me, only I would not get charged minutes for the call. Has anyone else heard that? Could a Sprint Rep please clarify this for me? Any help at all is most apprecaited!

If she gets incoming minutes for free - but I doubt it... I would guess it was just another mis informed rep.

Yeah, I thought it was too good to be true! And you're correct, she is not on a free incoming minutes plan. Thanks for your help bsgjunkie! Seems there are more knowledgeable users on this forum than there are knowledgable reps at Sprint!!!

I know bsgJunkie is rright, becasue my GF has m2m, and when we talk it costs her and i nothing. BUT her duaghter did not have it, and when she called me or her mom it charged her. the sprint rep misinformed her daughter, we called CS, they said nope the sprint rep was wrong, apologized for the mis info, gave her m2m (she is willing to pay for it)and they gave her credit for the calls since she added M2M

That is exactly the kind of answer I was looking for! Someone who had already gone thru this whole fiasco with Sprint before! I figured that it would work that way, but I just wanted to be sure before I tell my sister that she can call me whenever she wants and not be charged any minutes for doing so. I guess I'll have to persuade her to add the M2M on her line, and just pay the $5 or whatever it is every month. Thanks to the both of you again!

M2M is one of the easier "freebies" to get. Just have her email Ecare.

:good:

I hadn't even thought about that! She has been with Sprint for more than 4 years, so I'm sure if they take that into account, then she could get it pretty easily. That and I don't believe that she has ever asked for any freebies in that time! Thanks for suggesting that we try!
