Is there way to find how many ringers this phone will retain in memory? Wallpaper, too?

Thanks!

I have found out some things about ringers on this phone (see my other thread in this forum). If you put ringers in the 'pc sync' folder using a usb cable, these ringers can be assigned to phone book entries, but WILL NOT BE RETAINED after powering the phone off and back on. The ringers will still be in the folder, but the association with phone book entries will be lost.

Also, I tried sending midi ringers (the same ones I successfully transferred via usb cable to the pc sync folder) using the focus tool. This would hopefully put them in a different folder, but I get an error 'attribute mismatch' or something like that when I try to download the ringer after reading the text message sent by the focus tool.

The ONLY ringer I could get to survive a power cycle was a qcp ringer sent with the focus tool. There appears to be no way to send a midi ringer to this phone and have it permanently associated with a phone book entry. The phone will reject the midi ringer if sent with the focus tool, and will lose the phone book association if sent via the usb cable.

I haven't tried downloading a midi ringer from another site, or actually buying one from Sprint yet. The ringers I am trying to install aren't available from Sprint.

Forget about using midi ringers on the VI-2300, there's no way to get them on the phone. Neither focus nor using a usb cable will work. The ONLY ringer type that will work, and it can only be sent with focus, not usb cable (otherwise it won't survive a power off/on cycle) is a qcp file and these sound like crap compared to a midi file.
I managed to get 4 qcp ringers on the phone, now it says memory full even though I deleted a bunch of games, etc that came with the phone and it shows over 800kb free, Apparently there is a limit of 4 qcp ringers no matter how much memory is free.
This is a very poor phone as far as being able to customize ringers and have them sound good.

I've found the same thing... only you CAN upload midi files with a data cable. They go into the PC Sync folder on the phone. You can assign midi tones to specific callers, but the moment you power off the phone, the ringers all go back to default.

Oh well... at least the address book can be backed up and updated via data cable.

By the way. If you upload something via Focus, does that activate the Vision service?

I don't have it... don't want it... don't want to pay for it.

Thanks!

I've used the focus tool here to upload 11 ringers (qcp) to my VI-2300. I haven't had a problem with it yet.
