I now have the 7500, apparently I cannot keep a non-rugged phone in my hands. Anyway, the ASR feature says there are multiple commands, like tools, dial number etc, my 7500 only says, “Say Name and Phone to call”. No other commands work. Software version 1.017SP. What does your 7500 do? I commute over an hour to and from work, would like the full feature set described in manual! :frustrate

As I type I just grabbed my neighbors 7500 out of his hands. I hit the speaker button on the side and she's says "Say command". I say "phone status" and she tells me the results. Seems all the commands work on this one. Same software as yours.

Ok... Went to SS and the model did the same as mine. The sales rep (not the tech guy) changed a few settings and it started working. Not sure what settings but I think it was Sounds --> Alerts --> Ready Link --> Headset Alert to On instead of Off. Now it works fine except when using the turbo button on the headset. With the headset on and using the turbo button it defaults to Contacts and all I can say is the name of the person and phone to dial. :irked:

The commands function works if I use the side speaker button with the headset attached, but not with the turbo button.

So what is the process of telling Sanyo or Sprint of this problem so it can be corrected in the next software update? Love the phone and not giving it up!

Thanks guys!

Keith

All,

Here is what I have learned. If you press and release the side speaker button with our without headset attached you will get the full command menu. If you press and hold the side speaker button with or without headset you go directly to Contact menu and say name and phone to dial.

If you use the turbo button for ASR if you press and release or press and hold it automatically goes to Contacts option and asks for a Name and Number to dial. Hopefully SPRINT or Sanyo will get this corrected. I need the full menu with the turbo button. I sometimes have to Dial Number and the phone is safely on the seat. Washington, DC has a hands free law...

I can only get automatic speech rec to work about 10% of the time.
I have to dial most of the time.
I had the same trouble with the 7400.
I know I am speaking clearly because I am a former morning air personality for years.
funny, I rarely see anyone complain about this.
I tried lowering my voice, thought I was overdriving the mic and I have tried shouting and of course that doesn't work at all! :irked:
