Accessory Type: Bluetooth Headset
Brand: Sony Ericsson
Price: $65.00
Where Purchased: SU Trading post
Time Used: 1 week
Used With Which Phone: A900
Rating 4 out of 5
I bought this headset from Sin4Me, a SU member. (Excellent to do business with, btw)
Original packaging, which includes the headset, a euro-charger (with US adapter), and a cloth neck piece for wearing around your neck.
Looks: This headset is great looking. It is black/silver, with a small caller ID window. Very professional looking, with no annoying blinking blue Star Trek light. CID window also shows if you are on a call as well as battery power. Leaves no guessing about power remaining.
Charged for 8+ hours (directions say charge for 8 hrs). Absolutely no problem pairing w/a900. Some people have complained about the volume of this headset as well as the fit. I will address both issues.
My first call with this headset was to my voicemail. I made the call via voice command. There was very little static, even though my phone was on my left side and the HS was on my right ear. I have since been able to make voice command calls from about 15 feet away from the phone with slightly more but still very acceptable static levels. Volume of the HS is a little low, but adjusting the BT volume on the phone takes care of that.
The fit of this HS is where it falls down, and why it only gets a four out of five. The earhook seems to be made for smaller ears than mine, so that the inner portion that is supposed to line up with my ear canal actually sits a little high. In fact, the only person in my family it fit was my son. My 16 month old son. Some people have been able to correct the fit with the purple Jabra ear gels, but I haven't been able to find any so I can't personally vouch for this solution. It IS possible to make it fit, but I can only wear it for an hour or so before my ear gets sore. NOTE: I have big ears.
Overall, this is a fantastic HS performance wise. If the fit was a little better, it would be all I wanted in a HS.
