Just got my girlfriend a new VI-2300, and we put about 5 midi ringers on the phone using the data cable and datapilot. When we set a phone book entry to one of the new ringers, it works, but if the phone is turned off and back on, all the phone book entries revert back to the 'normal ringer'. The new ringers are in the pc sync folder under ringers. Can someone else with a VI-2300 try this and see if this is a generic problem or unique to this phone?

The phone h/w version is 0102
s/w version is 1.005SP

I should add that the normal ringers are remembered after a power cycle. If I change the ringer for a phone book entry to say "tone 2" which is one of the built in ringers, then do a power cycle, it will still be there. But if I set the ringer to one in the pc sync folder, after a power cycle the ringer is set back to 'normal ringer'.

I'm going to try something else in the meantime, I will upload one of the midi ringers using the focus tool and see if it puts it in a different folder than 'pc sync'. Maybe if they are in another folder the phone book entry will retain the midi ringer through a power cycle.

I tried sending midi file to the VI-2300 with focus, but the phone refuses to install it as a ringer, complaining there is something wrong with the file. I used an online tool to shorten the file to 25 seconds, perhaps that tool messed up the file format. The file plays fine with winamp.
