I've got my 3rd line which I don't use at all,I was just thinking getting a car charger and leave in the trunk for "just in case situation"
Will the cold damage the handset ? I'm located in New England.

Thank you

My answer would be no. Heat and cold (esp extreme temps) can damage the phone's circuit board and LCD screen (if more than one). :(

I agree. Extreme changes in heat and cold can cause a couple different problems. It would be possible in a very cold car for some moisture to condense inside the phone, which then turns to corrosion when the car gets warmer and the water evaporates. Not good. It could also cause your LCD to break. Not advisable where you're at--probably okay in more temperate areas.

What's actually recommended in this situation is to pack the phone and car charger in something like a shaving kit.

Wrap the phone in a plastic zip lock baggie, then wrap that in a towel and place it in the shaving kit. PRIOR to putting it in the baggie, completely charge the phone battery, then remove it from the phone and place both in the baggie. This will help insure you have some kind of charge on the battery in the event you cannot place it in the car charger.

This will protect the phone from all types of weather and even the possibility of the truck getting wet.

I've done this for several elderly folks for the case of an emergency.

good advice there :tu:

Here in CA, it should be fine in it's own little case, but still I feel it'll be safer if it's wrapped up somehow especially over there in NE...
