OK, so I have an MM 7400. Something is broken on it, and I’m thinking about getting it replaced. Any idea what they would send me? Refurbished 7400 or new 7500 (wishful thinking)?

Now some questions about comparing them…

Can I use the same Extended battery from my 7400 with the 7500?

What about the same battery charger and USB data cable?

Can I still connect to the internet via my laptop with the USB data cable (Vision) and dial #777? Would it be a faster connection with the 7500 and it’s Power Vision?

Can I still send & receive SMS text messages while on a call? I love that feature of the 7400!

I know about losing the Analog. I think that I can live with that. But other than the screen size and Analog capability, would I lose anything else?

You'll probabaly get another 7400 for a replacement and ards are in favor that you will not get a 7500.

As for accessories, the batteries are not compatible, but chargers and data cables are.

Not to mention, the 7400 has a bigger screen. The 7500 would be the choice for connections since it has PV. But otherwise, I would own the 7400 overall.

I have had the 7400, and played w/ a 7500, and still like the 7400 better.

You will most likely get the 8300. When I went to get my 7400 repaired 2 weeks ago I was given the 8300 as a replacement. The rep said that the replacement phone is based upon the features of the 'broken phone'

What sucks is that replacement phone are worth $0. You can't even exchange it and pay the diff for a higher model. :irked:

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (MobilePhone MM-8300/US/1.0) NetFront/3.1 MMP/2.0)

I actually like the 8300, i was given it after i lost my 7400. even though the screen is a lil smaller, it is much better. reception is better, call quality and speakerphone is also better.

I Loved the 7400, it has EVERYTHING!!! The screen is amazing everything about it is amazing!!!!

BOOO to the SANYO 7500 I was a bit disappointed. I HATE THE SCREEN SIZE (what where they thinking???) This is my main issue with it, why are screens getting smaller??? I am going to loose my eyesight!!! I have to admit though I am loving the whole themes, and music aspect of the phone. I like the outside of the phone, its basically a girly petite version of the 7400. the 7400 was a masculine kinda-phone.

i recommend 7500 to the younger crowds like preteens.

I love my 7400. Have had one off and on since december of 04. I have always wanted to try a 7500 to see what it's all about. I'm sure its a good phone, even with it's shortcomings it does add a lot to the 7400. I just wish the screen was bigger and the whole front faceplate was changable. I sure do like the size of the 75 too, it's pretty small for a rugged sanyo.

Here's an update for everyone... I called Lockline, the equipment replacement company for Sprint, and they said that I would get an 8300, and not a 7400 or 7500 !!!

I have the free unlimited Vision / free unlimited sms text messages, and a lot of other good things on my plan from a long time ago. So I'll probably stay with the 7400.

I also like to use Bitpim for frequent phone book backups. Apparently the 7500 doesn't work with Bitpim.

But I am curious as to how fast the internet connection is when a laptop is online via the 7500 with PowerVision? Is it like surfing with true broadband?

Aside from that, I could care less about all that other gimmicee stuff like camera phone, movies on the cellphone, etc.
