I've seen the Sanyo literature/spec that the 9000 oem extended battery is 1650 mah. I've also seen a 1400 mah extended for the 5600, it's prolly not oem tho. So what's the biggest/fattest extended battery any yall got for the 5600/9000? And I don't have to ask, but yall prolly will likely add: from where and how much?
Most I seen is the ESPN branded, black for $60. And some other 1400 mah for $40.

The standard 9000 battery is a 1400 mAh battery. I saw some 5600 extended batteries at the sprint store today that were 1700 mAh for like $60. There is a 9000 extended battery floating around that is 1650.
Here is my connundrum that i posted in my 9000 accesories thread a while back:
Believe it or not, just talking on your phone is is not a major drain on your battery. Thats why some phones ship with only a 1000 or sometimes even a 900 mAh battery. Now camera phones have been known to ship with a little heaftier batter some times around 1200 mAh. But the 9000 does far more. The miniSD card and video viewing are major drain situations, geting comprable to a portable mp3 player. Thats why it ships with a 1400 mAh battery. Now do the math. 1400 mAh gives you almost 3.5 hours talk time (192 minutes in tests). Now if 1400 mAh gives you 192 minutes, in a perfect world, 1650 would give you 226 minutes, so almost 30 minutes more of talk time. Thats decent, but most extended batteries can give you an hour or more extra of talk time. Now if using the media player or watching tv over the internet uses more juice than talking, that extra 250 mAh isn't going to go very far. I would suggest that if you want more battery life that you simply buy a second battery and keep it charged. These can be had for as cheap as $40 at Best Buy (less if you work there or know sombody who does) And if you previously owned a 5600 you are in luck. Although your phone can't make any calls, you could use it as a charger for your extra battery so you'd always have a battery ready.

Well shave my head and call me hairy, you be right. I guess i should have checked the spec sheet before i posted. That explains why it sucks the battery dry when using anything having to do with the web or the miniSD card. Well then here is what the estimated battery lifes would be for all of the batteries, in a perfect world assuming the mAh are linear with talk time (which they are probably not, but this gives a good indication):
1000 mAh - 192 minutes - 3.2 hours
1400 mAh - 268 minutes - 4.48 hours - 40% increase
1650 mAh - 316 minutes - 5.28 hours - 65% increase
1700 mAh - 326 minutes - 5.44 hours - 70% increase
While i believe the 1400 mAh battery is pretty close to reality, its the 1650 and 1700 mAh batteries that i believe it starts to become not quite linear with the increases. The 1400 is probably more like 4.25 to 4.5 hours talk time, and the 1650 and 1700 are probably more like barely 5 or a little bit more. Don't quote me on those talk times because situations can vary greatly depending on lots of variables. But these are some approximate values.

Yea the part number scp-14lbps(s) makes it look like a 1400 mah.
At the Sprint shop the real Sprint extended battery is a 1700 mah at $60.
1400 mah +1hr, 1700 mah +2hrs. Or about 320 mah an hour during talk.
The spec sheet likes to mention the times are with readylink off, how much does readylink impact the battery life?

I have the big guns 5600 extended battery on my 9000 right now. Doesn't match so I swapped the antennas also. Looks much better this way. I can't kill this damn battery. I use the MP3 player all day and talk about 2 hours on it too.

From what i've heard, the got something right with the 9000 and Readylink. People have been saying on the forums that there is no noticable difference in battery life between RL on and off. And i wasn't even aware that with other models this is an issue (MM9000 is my first RL phone). I havn't run the tests my self but i seem to get pretty close to what everyone else says their battery lifes are. The big thing that sucks battery is watching TV over the interweb.... sat and watched cartoons for 20 min or so with my son and lost a whole freaking bar (just pulled it off the charger on a full charge).

Hate to pull up an old thread, but the SAnyo store is no longer selling the 9000 extended batteries. Any other store to buy a 1650 mAh battery?

I, too, am looking for an extended battery for my 9000.
I purchased one off of eBay, that had a picture of the extended battery in the auction listing, but upon reciept of the battery, it was a 900mAh, regular sized (ie: not thick) battery. Obviously got a refund, but got to keep the battery as well. Unfortunately, this battery S U C K S . . . It doesn't really seem to hold a charge well at all, definately not as well as the Sanyo supplied battery.
Anyone know where to get an extended battery for the 9000 these days? I need to buy one before they are impossible to find... Or are they already???
