before when when i got a call the # and person name even picture would pop up on the today screen but now it doesnt all it says now is call status on bottom of the screen the phone doesnt even ring or vibrate when set to. but txt msge works just fine. HELP

Soft reset? i was having a few problems like that with Photo Contacts Pro on my MiniSD put it on main memory and it works fine.
try a soft reset...

if i do a soft reset will i lose all my programs how do keep from having to redo everythinglike picture mail etc

A soft reset will not alter the configuration of the softare in any way. It's just re-booting, usually by sticking the stylus in the reset hole. A hard-reset is what erases everything.
