How do you most prefer to input text (most efficient in speed and accuracy) for messaging??

abc mode is always the fastest, most accurate way to text. I can type the max limit of 160 characters in less than a minute. Voice is good too, if you are in a situation when you can use it...but abc is the best, hands down.

I love T9. Its the fastest way I am used to, and it just seems ludacris to have to hit a button several times when you can get away with hitting it only once. Its the best.

It's also ludacris how much hassle it is to type certain words with t9...if you try to type "me" it always put "of" (may have that backwards, but you get the point)

so then you hit 0 or down on the directional pad!
Still less taps then with ABC

more taps = better efficiency and less b**ching about t9 learning :)

T9 is better for me. I have been using abc for 2 years until 2 days ago when I learned how to use T9.
T9 rocks!
Especially the new kind where you can add words to the dictionary.
Plus the first time I type Me it may come up as Of but after I change it to Me it will automatically predict Me in My next message.

It's funny how this poll is off. Almost everybody voting has the 900...it doesn't have learning t9, yet that's what they're voting for.

i picked T9 even though my phone doesn't learn... Frustrating, but still better than ABC for the most part...

Um, I don't think there is anything "off" about the poll.
For those that don't know about T9 and how easy it is to use, you can learn from the simple tutorial at www.t9.com ...though in this day and age you'd think there are very FEW people that wouldn't know and understand the great advantages T9 offers. Now if only the A900 had T9 that could learn :irked:

My preferred method is via my Treo's qwerty keyboard. Can type hella fast...lol

T9 on the new Sanyos is great.
You can add words to the dictionary from the menu, and as you type, the different possibilities for words are listed in a dialog box towards the bottom. Very nice and a significant upgrade from how it used to be.

I agree. The 8300 goes hard.

Because most of us have had learning T9 in the past and recognize the fact that T9 that doesn't learn, as well as ABC mode, is far inferior to correctly programmed T9 software.

T9 all the way. Of course the new EVDO SAMSUNGS can't learn new words, so whatever T9 does not know, I have to ALPHA it in. It's cool though. I will always love T9.
I wonder how many people here use two hands to SMS? I only use one hand.

At first, I was all ABC since I couldn't seem to get T9 to work.
Fortunately, I figured how to use T9 properly rather than copying ABC'ing, and really am glad that features is included. Less tapping is good, though since T9 is simpler, I'm typing longer messages. :deal:
Ah- I also would not want to work with T9 on an A900. Tried that on my brother's phone...
