Excuse me if this is redundant, but I am not very familiar with the Vision plans. In early '05 I was put on as a 3rd line to a Free & Clear plan. Under my father's name, but I pay my share of the bill. They sent me a new PM-8200 with a 2 year contract. I have the Sprint PCS Vision Pictures Pack ($7.50) and Unlimited 2-way Text Messaging ($5.00). I believe when I signed up I only had the Picture Vision. It had a certain amount of free txt messages and I exceeded them, so they called and had me put on the unlimited option.

Around Christmas time (weird, see below), I purchased the PPC-6600 and sold my PM-8200. The rep I spoke to kindly just swapped ESN #s and I was ready to go. They didn't ask me to upgrade my Vision plan whatsoever. I contacted their support team via Email about the limits of the Vision plan, and this is the response I received:

Thank you for contacting Sprint together with Nextel. I will be happy
to assist you regarding the Vision Pictures Pack option active on your
PCS Phone..

I noticed that the $7.50 Vision Pictures Pack is active on the PCS Phone as of September 01, 2005 (September???) . This plan includes:

- First Month Free
- Unlimited PCS Vision Access
- Unlimited Picture Mail including Video Mail
- Up to $5 credit per month towards download of premium services

This means that you can access unlimited Vision/internet on the handset
and download a whole range of applications like games and ringers on the PCS Phone.

The speed for surfing the internet is 144 KB per second and generally,
you can experience an average data speed of approximately 50-70
kilobits per second (kbps).

Further, as the Picture Mail option is included in this option, you can
enjoy taking pictures as well as save and share the same through your
Picture Mail account.

Further, regarding the Video Access on the handset, in order to have the same, you require a $5.00 Video Mail option on the account. This option would allow you an unlimited access to the Video Mail account.

Be assured that the $7.50 option allows you to access the virtual world
on the handset at no additional cost!

I enjoyed serving you and look forward to working with you in future.
Have a great day. Thanks.

From what I gather on this, there is no limitation on the amount of data usage I use. I would like to do quite a bit of internet streaming and was worried about bandwidth limitations I am also in the IT field, and would like to use my phone as a network monitoring tool. My question is, if this is NOT the case & I don't have unlimited usage, is there a better option for unlimited Web usage + unlimited txt usage. The txt messages are a big option for me. I am keeping this email they sent incase I do get any extra data charges billed to me.

Oh, and one last thing. How do you use your $5 per month, I have looked and I don't see anything on that.

Thanks members!

I have just discovered that another phone on my the account has Premium Vision for $5 and includes 100 txt messages. Is Premium the same thing as Picture Pack without the Picturemail account? If so, I could swap plans and just buy extra txts if needed. It would save a few bucks but every little bit helps. I have just discovered a bunch of wrong charges on past bills. A lot of screensavers/apps/ringers that I supposedly downloaded from them. I have never downloaded anything from them, hence the question in the earlier post "how do you do it?"

Anyways, if I can get some answers on this Vision thing, I will call them and sort everything out, just need to set aside a few hours...

There is no limit on the data that you can use. However, people have been getting ridiculously high data bills and/or warnings about using their phones as a modem. You can pay for the PAM (Phone As a Modem) Plan, it is on the sprint webiste. Try going with your current plan and only add PAM if there are some flags raised by Sprint, such as a crazy bill (which you can fight).

The $5 download credit happens automatically after you make a purchase. You get credited back the amount of the purchase(s) up to $5/month.

To actually download something, simply access the internet on your phone. It will default to the vision home, where you can shop for ringers/games/images/etc. You can also use your pc and login to your sprint account. At the bottm of your page you will see links to buy stuff. After purchase you will receive a text with a url that will start your download.

is it possible to switch from Vision Pictures Pack to Premium Pack for $5, or will they make you get Power Vision?

That probably depends on the rep you get. Some might push the PV plan on you, others might just do it, no questions asked. But ofcourse if you do make the switch you won't be able to send pictures.
