I have a900 and want to use it as a pager (get text message instead of using another pager). I get message(s) from email address (from the application).
I addressed email(phone) as follows:
<phone_number>@messaging.sprintpcs.com ...also tried
<phone_number>@sprintpcs.messaging.com
and both do not work...
What am I doing wrong? Sprint support not helpful..
Thanks!!

Thanks!!I have done it many times. <phone_number>@messaging.sprintpcs.com is the correct format. Make sure you use the full 10 digit number. If you can't get it to work, send a text to the email address and just reply to it.
You can also send the text as a text message, rather than an email. You can do this from many different sites, including sprint.com.

fyi you can always send a text to number@teleflip.com they will automatically convert it to the proper format based on the carrier your emailing. I use that when texting friends from my PC.

Actually it's <phone_number>@messaging.sprint.com
No "pcs" after sprint. Try that...
EDIT:
Oh S**t, just realized this is from 2004. That's what I get for replying to posts found in Google. SORRY.

What you don't want are any spaces, dashes, etc. Just the 10 digits: NUMBER@messaging.sprintpcs.com . There is a great list of all these SMS/email gateways at wikipedia, and the NUMBER@teleflip.com tip is good too:

The one bad thing about teleflip is that they only give you 100 per month I read. If you want unlimited they have a monthly fee I believe.

Teleflip Sounds like what us BB users need. That is, if it supports pic mail

I can't get Teleflip to work at all -- nothing ever arrives. In fact, I'm having all manner of problems with SMS. The only Web-based text messaging site that works to my Mogul is txt2day.com. The <number>@messaging.sprintpcs.com SMSs never arrive. And international texts sent by conventional means take up to a day to arrive.

Question... does this cost money? I mean to have people e-mail you a text using the number@messaging.sprintpcs.com method?

It uses text messages.
The number@messaging address is the same one your phone uses when you send/receive a text message using the phone.

Wow cool! Thanks for the info. I had no idea that when a text message was sent that it used an e-mail address to be identified.
