Ok, so I've been using Itunes to make my ringers..just as the walkthrough thread on here says, and then I go to focus and upload the song...then the download starts and everytime I get to around 94% I get an error message, saying the download cannot continue and the issue has been reported....can someone pppleaseee help!! I'm really getting annoyed, this has happened more times than I can count!

the files run about 500ish kbs....do you guys think thats the problem?

the size of the file might be the problem, but also check the name you give it. When I first started uploading ringers, I got the same thing. And what happened was the names I was giving the files were too long, as soon as I shortened it, the same file would load up up fine.

Well, the only other thing I can recomend is try doing the steps on this thread:

http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91106&page=1&pp=15

and see if that works. For ringers see my post on the last page (#51). It works great for my phone and my friends a920. If you still can't do it, I have no idea other than maybe buying them or going to DBringers.

The problem is your filesize. You may not want to use iTunes, as much as people say that's the easiest way, it's not the best way IMO. 500-ish KB is MONSTROUS for a ringtone. Following the directions in our FAQ is a good way, and there are threads all around this forum with how-to's and tips with other methods. You can still use iTunes if you're most comfortable with it, but you're still going to have to adjust some quality settings on your songs to get them (perferably) under 200KB. Don't worry, you won't really lose any sound quality.

I followed SprintNewbies' directions and used FunForMobile to upload and had no problems using files as big as 800kb.Have you tried this uploader?

WHY on earth would someone want to take up that much space with a ringtone?! Even if you can, for crying out loud, don't do it. The A900 is hurting for memory. You won't lose anything by controlling the settings of your ringtone's quality, so why not take the extra 3 minutes to save yourself some space?

Well, this was my first try at ringers and I simply took a song that I had converted for use in the media player and uploaded it. I am new at this but the instuctions here on the forumn are great.I have 30 songs and 9 video clips loaded and still have 9M left. I am not big on ringers so what difference does it makeif I use 2 or 3 songs that are 700/800 kb? Maybe I can use this extra 11M of memory to load in more songs. Can this be done? How many ringers can you load?

well I have been trying to upload for the past 2 hours and getting the same response. done nothing different than all my other ringers, and the filesize is really small. Don't know what the deal is.

I don't know how many ringers you can load--probably only limited by storage space (some phones are actually limited by count, but I haven't heard reports of this with the A900). You're just limited to 11MB in My Content, and if you have a lot of games, apps, etc. that's not much room at all. I just don't see why anyone (and I wasn't talking specifically to you, nor am I now) would go with a 700KB file when they can cut that down to at least 150 without losing noticable quality, regardless of whether or not you'll ever use that space. I'm not trying to insult anyone here or anything.

And there really isn't a way to use that 11MB as storage for more songs. However, if you haven't already heard about it, you might be interested in ORB. You will need to read the "ORB on the A900" thread to configure it properly. This allows you to basically stream music from your desktop computer to your phone, eliminating the need to suck up the measly space we get in the A900.
