hey whats up guys, im using an a900. AND, i figured out how to load wallpapers from the 100ssmed folder. it gets into my phone fine, but the images u guys provide (which ever pixels the a900 is). it comes out really crappy. like the picture quality is really bad. am i doing somethin wrong?
im right clicking on the pictures u guys give for the a900 phone, save em, then load them while my phones connected to the pc. then i go to my images, its there, but its so pixly lookin.
SOO... then i saw that the pixels of the pictures that ive takin from my phone are like, 1280x1024 (from my pc). so i grabbed an image with that dimension, and it looks great. but its pretty big...and it slows down the phone a bit. now im sure u guys are able to have the wallpapers on the site look fine or else it would bea big question. thanks alot, peace.

if you still have the opinion on ur way of doing this, can u please list steps of what ur exactly doing? thanks dude. cuz i dont really get it, when i used to use the uploader, it sends the text message to ur phone, and it doesnt save the image to ur phone automatically, u gotta Go to the webpage and then download to ur phone. im talkin about the usb cable, thanks

The only way to get a wallpaper without your phone connecting to the internet is one of the following two choices.
1. Take a pic with the phone's cam and make that the wall paper.
2. Use a data cable to transfer a wallpaper to the phone.

Be sure the pic size matches your screen size.

well, im talking about the usb. and i have transfered wallpapers over, but these are the steps im doing exactly.
1. plug it in (blah, u know the rest).
2. find the pic that i want. but ill just test first, like some people show images on the forums of their wallpapers that they have on the a900. then ill right click, save.
3. then ill cut that pic, from my My Documents (where it saved), then paste it in the 100ssmed folder, while my phone is connected to the pc.
4. then ill disconnect, and go to my My Albums, where it will be. then when i set it as my wallpaper, it comes out all pixly... UNLESS i go under google images and find a wallpaper with the dimensions of 1280x1024. but it slows down my phone a bit.

This happens with every single one??? Try the attached image here and tell me if the same thing happens. LOTS of people have had the pixelated problem and it's been discussed here many, many times. It's an easily-fixed Photoshop thing. Do you have PS? The attached image here should NOT give you that pixelated problem.

yeah, that worked, thanks dude. yeah, i heard that if someone uses photoshop, or they save the image wrong, it ****s up the dimensions. but is there anyway to tell if a pic is good or not? theyre all jpeg formats... i do have digital image pro9. and it was pretty expensive haha, and it has some features that photoshop uses. so what exactly are u doing to create the image to be ready for the phone? thanks

In Photoshop, you have to do File/Save for Web. Unfortunately, there's no way to tell if the image has been saved the regular ol' way.

icc...but, what do u exactly do? so, i copy and paste an image with the dimensions of an a900, then i save it. THEN i open it in photoshop (or image pro9 if possible), and save it as a different format? if so, what format? what do i exactly do when i get to the saving part? thanks bro.

Here it is, step-by-step:
In my browser, I right-click/Copy Image
In Photoshop CS, File/New -- it will automatically choose the canvas size of the image you copied
Edit/Paste
If needed, I crop the image to 240x320 as I like it best and make any touch-ups needed. If I have a 500x500 image, for example, I will go to Image/Image Size and set the height to 320; I always leave the Constrain Porpotions box checked. I then go to Image/Canvas Size and set the width to 240, adjusting the crop to whatever direction I want, if I don't want it centered (using the Anchor setting).
Then I go to File/Save for Web and save it as a JPEG at 100 quality, though you can use lower quality settings to save space if that's a concern.
Voila, you have yourself a nice lil' wallpaper that won't pixelate all to Hell.
