Has anyone ever brought the PPC-6700 off of ebay from the user SprintNetwork? The phone is advertised as 199.99 after instant rebates and it says you have to sign up for a new account. My ? is if anyone has purchased, I am approved for a 2nd line on my sprint account now so does this mean I will be accepted to be able to recieve this phone for this price? Or do they require ppl to have better credit than just being able to add a 2nd line to the account? I know that they ask you to sign up for a plann over 60.00 dollas a month for the first month I guess this is why they can sell the phone for so cheap and if anyone has purchased from them what did u think of the quality? they say there brand new. Thanks for any help.
Mike

PS Any help soon would be greatly appreciated looking to scoop me up one of these hot phones and start modin and hackin. :hee: :1zhelp:

well, the reason they offer it so cheap is because: 1) yes, they make you switch to the $60 unlimited incoming calls plan, and 2) most people never switch their plans back after the first month.

so they make a few bucks here and there, eventually paying off the phones.

by the way, i just bought a 6700 from my local sprint store. added a 3rd line to an existing family account, and they wanted to charge me the full $450 for it, so i *****ed a little bit and they dropped it down to $350. i drug my feet a little bit, all the time saying how good that 700w on verizon looks, and tada!, they droped the price down to $300 and threw in a plantronics bluetooth headset (that of which is going right to ebay).

i guess go in to a store and just see how low you can get them to go, or what you can get them to add on, it may just surprise you how much these guys need the ppc sales.

I am sure if you do a search for Sprintnetwork or Ebay you will find a few favorable reviews.

I got my 6700 coming today :fingers: but that will be sent back since they gave me the wrong number/area code. But the rep said they will ship a second one and I should have that by Tues :fingers: :fingers: :fingers: . I did opt for the 60.00 plan with free PV and Texting for one month. Afterwards I will probably transfer it to my existing family plan as a $20.00 AAP. If all goes well I will be getting an A900 from them also. But I am a bit nervous since I got 2 6700's coming. I am sure my bill is going to be F'ed up for a bit. :fingers:

I will update once I get something.

I saw the same promo on eBay. I printed it out and took it to my local Sprint Store. They instantly matched the price...no haggle, no hassle. I was buying two of them and I didn't feel comfortable with the way the eBay vendor was doing business and I was even less comfortable giving them $700.00 with no prior company trust or track record. Give it a shot. The Sprint Store isn't going to lose $$, so dont worry.

I cant believe the false advertising. Anyone else have this probelm? If not anyone want to share there experience?

acdc, The phone gets billed to your sprint account, and the phone is shipped directly from Sprint. The ebay guy just places you order.

My experience with him was great. Ordered it the first week that they were available and ended up paying less than half of what everyone else was paying.

You have to have fairly stellar credit to do this. All they do is basically order the phone via Sprint with your password, bill it to your account, have it shipped to you and then refund you part of the commission they get from Sprint when they activate a line. No money out of their pocket, but you save big time on the phone if you keep your account for longer than a month so they can get their comission credit.

The one benefit was that it took a full month for the cost of the phone to show up on my account and then I had another month to pay for it.

Here is a quick update. Well I got the 6700 yesterday, the one with wrong number/area code. Call Sprintnetwork to see when the 2nd one was shipped. It never was and won't be until this one is returned to Sprint. ***???? I don't see why I can't order as many phones as I want/need from them. My credit/account is good with Sprint. I am sure I could easily keep this one, have Sprint change the number and contract but Sprintnetwork would lose their commission and I might (according to them) lose my discounts. What do you guys think?

And to top it off, everytime I call and talk to Sprintnetwork, I get cut off. Luckily I have talked to the same guy everytime (must be the only one working there). But he goes to put me on hold and the line goes dead. Then if he does call me back, its on my cell phone but my phone is broke. (I check my voicemails, thats how I know he calls back.)

I am beginning to wonder if this is all worth saving $250 dollars.

ummm why are you trying to send a phone back? the phone is independent of your phone number, you can change your phone number in the phone if you call sprint. one of the easiest things to do, i've done it many times. so your credit doesn't mean anything when you don't understand phones.

Now lets just hope it gets here. :fingers:

I have contacted all the ebay resellers who are selling the PPC-6700 which I really want to order tomorrow so speedy help would be greatly appreciated. THe guy from ebay keeps telling me that since my spending limit is 200, I have a credit of 200 that I would have to call sprint and make a advance deposit on my account which will add credit to my account so that if i add 350 I will have a total of 550 credit. Then he takes the 449.00 for the phone out of that by invoicing phone to my bill. I called sprint and they say you can not invoice a phone to your account but the ebay reseller says you can. anyone have any clue about this? He gives a special rebate of 250 to make the phone 200 dollas and the other 250 is credit to my account. If I dont get help to figure this out as soon as possible I will be going with cingulars 8125 for 199.99 after mail in rebate.
Thx, Mike

you can see the charge for the phone, then the other credits and discounts to that reduce the price

when you brought it to the store did they make you get new numbers on them or did they let you keep your old one? did they charge the $36 fee? i would pay the $199 + $36 to keep my old number, can you PM me some more details please, thanks :tu:

dont use sprintnetwork. use the pobox guy. he was great. I got my 6700 in one day. the phone ended up only being around 175 because he charged 229, i got my 23% company discount and he credited back the activation charge twice by accident. anyway, freaking awesome deal. that and I sold my vga 1000's back to sprint for 50 a piece, when i only paid 75 a piece to start with 2 years ago. Then the day after i got the phones i called sprint and switched to the sero plans (to start on next billing cycle) and it was a set. worked perfectly.

I will be ordering from Paul at preferredsourcing on ebay. for the ppc-6700 and will report back my experience. They sent the wrong phone so I have to return the piece of S___ A840 by samsung and then I will order and let everyone at SU know the details of getting this phone for a good rate and NOT having that good of credit. So I will be reportin back within a week or so cuz the phone the sent out from sprint was ordered by my grandfather but will be sent back ASAP and hopefully it wont be long b4 I can get that sweet PPC-6700

got my 6700 from sprintnetworks. area code was correct this time. ordered a a900 on friday and already have the number is listed on my account. should have it by monday afternoon. if you do order from them, make sure you have a complete order (i.d. verification) before 3 pm EST. anytime afterwards will cause it to ship the next day. also when using the prompts on the 1-888 number, 0 can get you a rep faster than dialing 110. for some reason the same guy always answered my calls.

good luck..i am going back to fiddling with my 6700.........

That did it for me. I'm getting a 6700! $149 and no activation fee!!!??? Sounds TGTBT. Any sales tax or other fees? Can I still switch to SERO or do an add-a-phone after getting this deal or will I be locked into some $60 rate plan??? I already have 2 phones, this will be the 3rd on the acct. :headbang2

Just curious, does anyone find this phone to be too bulky? Can it fit in jeans pocket or do you have to have a big 'ol belt clip or pouch?

The auction says they're new. There's restrictions as to it being a new account, not an upgrade, etc.and it says the phones come directly from Sprint with no activation fee!! I would imagine they're all brand new. I think it did say that but I'll have to go back to the auction and check it out again. There's a couple other guys selling at the same price now too. They also have the a900 for 99cents! I'm wondering if I should just go that route, then. Either way the 6700 seems really amazing and probably lots of fun.

Also I'm a realtor and would like to be able to pull up listings on the screen if possible. It's a lot easier than pulling over and busting out the laptop every time.

Got my 6700 from sprintnetwork a few days ago for 150$. They have to check your credit first to see if you quality for the discounted price. I asked two different reps to make sure I would be getting it at this price and they said yes. You have to sign up for the 59.99 free incoming plan and after 30 days you can change to watever plan. No activation fee and got my phone next day after I ordered it.

Called in to give credit info, and was accepted.
No credit card info was needed.
No charges up front.
They stated that I would only see a $149 charge on my first bill, plus the $60 plan, plus $6 insurance (was told you only have first 30 days to get insurance).

Must keep plan exactly as is for 30 days, then can change to any other plans.

In my brothers name for 4 years, I was on a decent retention plan with a PM-8200, with grandfathered $10 vision including unlimited SMS (rarely used) and PM, (see sig), but the PPC-6700 looked so good for my needs that I gave up old plan and number.

Hope to switch to SERO $30 or $50 plan after 30 days. (includes PV)
Any tips on doing this?

PV is free for 30 days with the $60 plan (then $15 after, or $75 total).
Do I need to switch exactly 30 days from original contract to avoid PV charges?
$60 plan is 500 anytime, free incoming, N&W, or in other words, pretty lame.

If I can not get SERO, is there anything else cheaper and better than the $60 plan they stick you with in order to get the $149 deal? Asking because it now seems as though after the 30 days, I will have no bargaining power. Too late to cancel. Too soon for retention. Screwed?

Thanks

Well, I just received my 650 ordered from sprintnetwork and I have to say, so far so good. I got the same $60 plan - and I plan on moving it to my F&F Family plan on day 31. RobsTV - yes, anything after the 30 days will cost - but only on a prorated rate. So if you go over a few days as you get things chaged over, it will hardly cost you anything. So far, this was a good deal and a pretty painless deal. I would recommend using these guys.

Has anyone who did this deal been on long enough to and actually switched from the first 30 day plan?
If so did you get hassled at all by either sprint or the ebay seller?
Did you get hit with a penalty for switching to a cheaper plan?
If you cancel the service before the end of your contract what happens?

I currently have a plan that I do not want to switch from but would love to get this phone for the prices on ebay. What I would like to do, which is the reason for my questions, is...
-Order the phone through ebay
-stay on the plan for 30 days
-after that switch the 6700 to my old F&C plan (I think it is a business F&C plan)

Thanks

bubbatex
03-23-2006, 11:53 AM
ChrisK - Remember, in doing this you are opening up a new line of service. You have to stay on their plan for 30 days so that they get their due commissions. However, if you cancel this line (by switching to your old plan/line), it is the same as canceling a Sprint line - you will get hit with the ETF, rebate chargebacks, etc. So, it depends on your current situation, contract status, do you need two lines, etc.

ChrisK

Hi bubbatex,
thanks for the reply.

I dont mind doing new service meaning getting a new number.

What I want to do is to, after the 30th day, switch the plan for my new 6700 to the plan that i have on my old junky phone. I do not have an active contract on my current plan. Then cancel my original line of service.

Thanks

Received my PCC-6700 yesterday, and it is great so far.

Called Sprint to get MSL (just asked tech, and he said sure thing) then asked about plan details.
It is set up by Sprintnetwork (ebay) under Business plans.
Sprint support stated that you have 90 days to switch plans without penalty, and without starting a new contract length period.
PowerVision is free for 30 days. No SMS.
7pm nights and weekends were added by Sprintnetwork (ebay) as a promo, and while it shows up on Sprint Billing as a charge, Sprint support says it should also show a credit for the $5 when bill is due.

Total that appears at Sprint on current bill for this deal is a little over $200. (Can not look up itemized bill, but am guessing $149 for phone, + first month $60, + $5 7pm N&W, + $6 insurance + taxes?).

Sprintnetwork (ebay) did not even ask for any credit card info, and no signatures were given.
I'm sure if I changed plans now though, that additional charges would appear unless I returned phone.

So far all is exactly as ebay seller Sprintnetwork has stated, and very satisfied with service.

I wasn't offered the 7pm nights and weekends though; how'd you get that? :)

Thanks!

I asked for it, then they asked me if I was in a major city, which I responded Yes, (even though I am not), and they added it for free. Not that it matters, since I am changing plan in 28 days. (most should change ASAP because you can save a lot with other plans). Just get the phone for $149, smile, and get new plan with addons later.

RobsTV
03-25-2006, 08:38 AM
SERO is the plan I am hoping to change to.
Looks good unless they crack down and make it harder to obtain.
Some say it is easy to get. Some say hard. In 30 days, who knows...
Even if all goes bad, and SERO can not be obtained, there still should be other deals that provide more for less than the Ebay purchase requirement plan offers.

I need some real browsing and e-mail capabilities!! I think I have great credit and can get one without a prob but just waiting for a reply...I'll tell ya how it goes. I wa almost gonna try taking a printout to my local sprint store but with my luck they'd just laugh at me.....poor me.

but you had to get a new number and new contract right?

from what i get out of all this.. if you want to keep your current number, you sign 2 more years, get a 60 dollar plan, 30 or so days later u switch over to your current plan and cancel the 60 dollar plan?

MauiPCSdude
03-27-2006, 02:33 PM
Yes, thats exactly correct. In my case tho I just added a new line withe new phone which is what I wanted to do in the first place. Just gave my old phone to my wife after a month when I swap the ESN's!!

Yeah, for the first month anyways. After that you change your plan to the one you want.

nkstn
03-27-2006, 05:31 PM
then do you have to pay anything additional after you cancel that plan after the 30 days or whatever? dont you have to do like the add a phone thing for 10 dollars a month?

bubbatex
03-27-2006, 08:19 PM
no, you are just changing plans - you only have to worry about additional charges if you cancel the line. change the plan to something cheaper or roll it into an existing multi-line plan, just dont cancel the new number. It is just like any other Sprint plan, except you need to wait through the first billing cycle before making changes.

nkstn
03-27-2006, 11:38 PM

MauiPCSdude

No no, You can change the plan after a month of usage. After that change all you want! Plans that is. I think there are limits to how many times and only within 90 days to change your mind about the change you made.

Welp!! I'm gettin my PPC-6700 tomorrow!!!! I'm sooo stoked! It's gonna take me awhile to figure out how to use it but that's the fun part!!!

Hope this works.
Just switched to a new plan that will start on my next billing cycle.
That means, I am on the original plan that was required for 30 days, and all should be fine.
Then, I get SERO 1250 plan for $49.95 (details in other SERO thread here).

Question is, while I am still on original $60 plan for 30 days as required by SprintNetwork (ebay), I did make a change within the first 30 days, even though the changes won't go into affect until after 30 days, so did I screw up?

I received absolutely no paperwork or contract requirements with the phone, and am only going by what he stated over the phone to me. Would hate to see a chargeback in a month or so for the extra $450 that was knocked off the price.

i think i get what your saying.. but in the end your still paying for two bills now right? your origional plan you had then some new plan he signed u up for and that you can change to a cheaper plan later, but your still paying for 2 plans a month now right? if thats the fact.. then your really not saving any money in the end.

Okay, so, let me get this straight. One of the lines on my account is eligible for an upgrade. So, if I print this auction out, and take it to a Sprint store, they will price match it and I can get an upgrade for that price? Then, I would just swap ESNs a day or two later. If this works, I am going to do it, but only after the price drops a litte more, which it will.

I called the Sprintnetwork ebay user today and they said I would have to pay the full 450 and get a 200 or 250 dolla credit to the sprint account after the first months bill aint this so stuff! I cant believe the false advertising. Anyone else have this probelm? If not anyone want to share there experience?
Thx Mike :irked:

I ordered an A900 from them. It was supposed to be 19.99. When I got my first bill, it had a charge for 349.99 for the phone on it. I called them, and they said that I had to call Sprint to get the rebate. After a lot of noise, I got a $150 instant rebate from Sprint. I called sprintnetwork and they said that they would give me a $180 credit to my account. They never did. I called them several more times, and they said they wouldn't give me the $180 credit since I changed my phone # on the phone. They said they would give me several $25 credits instead. They never did.

I know others have asked but has anyone here actually signed up for a new line through SprintNetwork and had the phone long enough to switch the $60 dollar plan to something on your pre-existing plans? If so, how or what did you say to the sprint reps to make this as easy as possible?

Here's my situation. I have three plans on a shared 2000 AT plan, which happens to be a retention plan still being grandfathered in. I've moved out of state since I started the plan, but never changed my phone numbers because that would mean I would have to give up the grandfathered plan.

However, now I'm dying to get my hands on two PPC-6700's to replace two phones currently on my account. All phones are out of contract, and two out of the three qualify for the 150 phone upgrade. What I'm hoping I can do is simply order two more lines for a grand total of 5 through SprintNetwork's offer, cancel my two old phones as soon as the new ones arrive, and then after 30 days add the two new phones to the existing shared minutes plan. Then ofcourse I will have to renegotiate the entire plan with Sprint so I can get a new package that hopefully incorporates powervision for my two new smartphones. But if it works I'll have 900 dollars worth of phones for 300 and whatever concessions I make on my new plan will have paid for itself.

Am I crazy or missing something to think I can pull this off?

NOTE: I have already talked to Peter with SprintNetwork and he claims I can do exactly this although I will need to order the new PPC-6700's staggered at least a week apart.

well, I have to ask - did you change the number in the first 30 days?

Yeah, I changed my phone number before 30 days. I asked about this before I ordered, and the rep said it would be fine, as long as i didn't change to a plan below $60. When I called and asked about that, they said they could probably get me the $180 still, and that they'd call me back. They never did. When I called about a week later, they said no good on the $180, but I would get multiple $25 credits for sure. I never did. More than 14 days had elapsed, so I was stuck.

And so it begins.....
I ordered a 6700 for $200.00 and a A900 for $20.00

My billing cycle just ended and I changed the phones over to my 2000 min shared plan.
Well after talking to a CSR and discussing my upcoming bill, I found out I only received enough credit/discounts so that the 6700 was $280.00 and the A900 was $60.00.

According to the rep this is/was the lowest Sprint was able to sell the phones. So as of right now I have been shorted $120 by Sprintnetwork. I will work on getting those credits but I am not gonna hold my breath.

When I think about it, its still not a bad price to pay for either phone...BUT...yes there is a but..my 6700 has a bad earpiece jack. Barely 30 days old and the phone capability is severly limited. Sprint could only offer me a refurbished 6700. I am going to try and talk to Audiovox and get a new one.

I'm interested in this answer also. Anyone??

I just did something very similar to this.

Had two phones with Texas area codes sharing 2000AT plan. Moved to VA. Ordered a PPC-6700 and a few days later ordered A900, both with new area codes. I waited the 30 days before adding the A900 and 6700 to my $100, 2000AT shared plan. Where I am located doesnt have the EVDO network so I just have regular vision and text messaging on both phones. The two TX lines are still active (but not used) since I would have to pay an EFT. The 6700 and A900 are now AAP on the plan ($10 each plus vision and text messaging). One TX number is actually suspended and the other is holding the plan. If I cancel service on main line, I will lose this plan and all its features.

However, BUT, etc...Sprintnetwork did not provide all of the discounts/credits for my two phones. 6700 cost me $280 not $200 and A900 cost me $60.00 not $20 as advertised (overcharged $120 total.) However, Tom at Sprintnetwork is looking into this. I will post if/when/how this is resolved.

Frankly $280 is still a good price and I would take it if I could be sure to get it. When I called SprintNetwork they offered me the $150 plan so I wonder how much I would end up paying. Either way, I plan on juggling my phones around so that the one phone and number that I do not want to change becomes the primary line. This would solve two problems. One, it means that phone would be the one holding down my grandfathered plan while I'm juggling all the others around. Two, Sprint has some strange pricing plan on power vision and other extras where they cost half as much on sub phones even if you don't have it on the main line. So I figure, pick the phone I don't need power vision or anything else on and make that my primary.

Let us know how this turns out for you.

Well according to Tom at Sprintnetwork, I should see the credit on my next bill. Which probably means I will sit and wait for 30 days only to find out I have been screwed over again. I will call CS in a few days to see if any credits have been applied.

Has anyone here ported their number over to sprint from another service?

I hava a business account with 4 lines currently...and am approved for 6 total I think. Anyway, in a few emails back and forth from each, sprintnetwork cofirmed having to add the $60 plan while POBOX called me directly and said they would do it as a $10 AAP and at the same price ($150 still as this was a week ago) as Sprintnetwork. Just a heads up for anyone dealing with POBOX....anyone have a theory on how they can be offering the same rebates as sprintnetwork without the benefit of me signing up for the $60 plan? I find that a little tough to believe :)

I'm the one that originally started this thread since then I have received my ppc6700 this was 1 month ago when they were 200. and here is my story. also sprintnetwork doesn't like to work with u to much if u don't have good credit but they will I guess not sure . I would go with preferredsourcing because I ordered mine last month and it was from Paul at preferredsourcing. He is a great guy and will work with you to get the phone at a wonderful price, I got my ppc6700 from paul after rebates for 200 yes the 1st month has to be a 60 plan but u can change after first billing cycle. if your credit is good then ur lucky and get it at that price so I have heard but my credit wasn't so good so I had to pay the full 450 up front to sprint not to him then he invoiced the phone to my account and after I got my first bill the credits where on my account. total left me with only actually paying 200 for phone and the credits so far have paid for last month, this month, and next month and I should still have credit left on my account. by the way I added it to my account as separate account with its own bill. if u would like to see a copy of the bill PM me. any other ?s just ask. IMO go with Paul at preferredsourcing. :) :)

Instead of waiting through my 30 day billing cycle, is it possible to call Sprint now to have them schedule my plan to change after the first month without affecting sprintnetwork's commissioning? thanks for any info!

It is possible to change plans, and not have the plan kick in until the next billing cycle. Remember, your phone's entire retail price will be on your first bill. If you meet sprintnetwork's needs, they will apply a credit to your account.

do not I repeat do nt change the plan before the first month service because as I understand all rebates of the seller are based on u having the 60 plan. the one thing u can do is call b4 1st months bill tell them u want to change plans but u want it to take place AFTER the 1st months bill so that way u get ur rebates and the plan u get lucky and get, as for me I'm not in a SERO available area so I have no luck in that area of plans. any more ?s just ask!!

why risk scheduling it and mess around and have them do it early, lose your rebate.
just wait a month and do it yourself. if you're a couple of days over, they'll prorate it. so what not a big deal. don't risk losing your rebate of what $200 just to save a prorated daily of $60 a month for 1 month. basicly a couple of bux. you're going to risk $200 to save $2? don't do it. wait a month and call.

just wait a month and do it yourself. if you're a couple of days over, they'll prorate it. so what not a big deal. don't risk losing your rebate of what $200 just to save a prorated daily of $60 a month for 1 month. basicly a couple of bux. you're going to risk $200 to save $2? don't do it. wait a month and call.
Well first things first have u ever done this?? I recently changed my plan a few days after my first months bill and BAM slapped with 2 months at the 60 bucks rate, they said the couldnt change the plan tell the end of the second month since I was a few days late of calling and making the change to the account. So if I guess it all depends on the rep u speak too ;)

im interested in purchasing the 6700 from sprint network. i will probably just add a line to my current plan, but i was wondering how long i must keep the 6700 under the new line? i would much rather change the 6700 to my 1st line. any info would be greatly appreciated.

I ordered my 6700 on Thu, 3/6 over the phone from the Sprintnetwork guy, Tom. I didn't do anything over eBay, all over the phone. He qualified me in 10 minutes. And I had my phone on Fri, 3/7!! Here's the deal as I understand.

Retail: $599.99
Sprint Discount: <150.00>
Sprintnetwork Discount: <355.00>
Net Price to me: $94.99

Conditions:
- Requires new contract phone number for 2 years
- Plan needs to be $60/month for 1000 anytime minutes (free Vision for 1st month)
- Cannot make ANY changes for 1st month; after 1st month, can lower minutes, etc.
- MUST KEEP THIS NEW PLAN/PHONE# (at any level) FOR SIX MONTHS AT LEAST!!
- If you cancel the line before six months, you will lose the $355 discount!!

Other:
- After 1st month, I can switch phones (ESN#). I.e., put my 6700 on the phone# I really want it on.

To recap, I am extremely pleased with Tom and Sprintnetworks. Tom always called me back when I couldn't get ahold of him directly. Admittedly, I haven't got my first bill from Sprint yet, but I don't have any reason to think I'll have a problem.

Good luck!!

Well.. if you want to play it safe. 1 month. Me however, I did a esn swap before, before rebate and it went through. That was like a year ago when I got my vm4050.
So anyway I got my treo 650 on wednesday. used it 2 days. On friday I called up sprint, told them that I have 4 lines. On 3 of my lines I want to do phone swaps and basicly me, my wife and my mother in law on those lines all want to trade phones with each other. The rep said no problem. Hooked it up. 10 minutes later max, it was done. I'm takinga risk.. but i think it'll go through long as the line stays active and gets calls and such. if it doesn't go through, i'm just goin to raise hell, tell them my blind mother in law can't use all the little buttons on the treo and that's why i did the swap.. and they should find someone who can fix the problem and get my rebate. If they don't, I litterally will tell them I'm not paying for it, and i'll stop using sprint all together nor pay the early termination fee if they wan't to be that petty. I mean all accounts are still active so i don't see what the big deal is.

hmm... did they give you any specific reason as to why they could not prorate the plan? i mean, most carriers would just put you on the new plan without even bothering with any prorating if you haven't gone over the amount of minutes allowed on the new plan. (at least that was the case with Verizon and T-mobile)

i emailed sprintnetwork to ask if i could make changes during the first month that will set to go in effect after the first month, and their reply was that doing so will disqualify me from all promotions and discounts :(

..so now i can't ask for any plan changes, annd i have to worry about being stuck with a $60 plan that does not suite my needs for TWO billing cycles unless i find a rep willing to prorate my plan

good luck note if u have a spending limit on ur account u won't b accepted by sprintnetwork or u will have to py full retail price for phone then after 1st month u get the rebates. wish I wouldn't have rushed and got mine for 200 and waited to save that extra 100 bucks but its all good the phone is well worth the 200 I paid! IMO! Plus I can always sell on ebay when my contracts up and make my money back so it was definitely worth it!!!

Would hate to see a chargeback in a month or so for the extra $450 that was knocked off the price.

did you get your bill yet? if so, any problems such as losing the discounts/rebates in doing this?

to recap, what i heard is that the billing cycle needs to show up as $60 for sprintnetwork to get their money. So you should be okay since the change won't go into effect until after the computer sends that $60 through.

I also heard that the other sprint phone seller will give you the $10 aap play right from the start. That would be a better deal than sprint networks.

Hi, could you please explain the part on "MUST KEEP THIS NEW PLAN/PHONE# (at any level)"?

Is that to say it is only okay to lower minutes or make changes as long as it is under the same type of plan? i.e. I can go from the $60 Fair and Flexible Plan to a $30 Fair and Flexible Plan, BUT cannot go from the $60 Fair and Flexible to a Free Incoming or SERO Plan

Thanks for any reply :)

You can't drop to any plan below $60 before u get the first bill. In fact, to be safe, you should not make ANY changes what so ever until you get your credits from the company. I made the mistake of changing my phone number a few days after I got my line, and lost everything.

I think that is said incorrectly - you CAN change plans after the first 30 days. However, you have opened up a new line of service so you MUST keep this line under contract for at least 6 months for the phone rebates - sprintnetwork is giving them to you up front. As with any Sprint line, besides the rebates, you still would face the $150 ETF if you cancel the line inside the 2 yr window.

did you get your bill yet? if so, any problems such as losing the discounts/rebates in doing this?

Sprintnetwork (ebay) works hand in hand with Sprint, so no fears.
You can call in to change plans right away, as long as you tell Sprint your phone deal requires you to maintain current plan for 30 days. They know all about this, and will start your new plan on the next billing cycle, while keeping your current plan for it's required 30 days. No worries. You can check on your plan at any time by going to Sprint's website, but during the first 30 days the ebay plan is all that will appear. New plan that starts on next billing cycle can NOT appear until it is effective. This just adds to confimation that your plan is intact for first 30 days. A phone call to *2 will confirm your new plan details that start next billing cycle.

I am so glad I did not wait. Since I jumped fast, I was able to get a SERO plan. Now, it is harder to get SERO. Other plans as well. You can get a plan that is advertised today, yet start it on next billing cycle even if at that time the plan is no longer available.

Just make sure you tell Sprint about the ebay deal, and requirement for 30 days, and you are set!

Hi:

My understanding of the situation is that Bubbatex is correct. After 1 month, you can change to ANY plan (sorry if I didn't word it clearly the first time). So go for the cheapest plan/rate if you want after 1 month. You can change to anything you want after 1 month. And just keep that phone number active for 6 months to keep the $355 Sprintnetworks discount.

I may be playing it too safe but I'm not making any changes for 1 month, even calling *2 and telling them not to put the new plan into effect till the 1st month is over. I'm too chicken to risk losing the $355. :fingers:

... i'm just kinda anxious to make sure everything goes smoothly since this is my first time with Sprint and i had some bad experiences with a previous dealer a few yrs back when i had AT&T (before they became Cingular). My number finally ported over to Sprint this morning, and I called customer service to get my password for online account login. My $60 plan is showing online, and a CSR told me my account currently displays a $150 National rebate from Sprint. I guess the rest of my phone rebates from sprintnetwork will show up when the bill gets here.

Thanks for the info, I think I'll try calling in sometime within the month to see what they can do for me. I have a feeling that results may vary depending on the CSR you get.. I explained the 30 day requirement to the CSR when she tried to set me up with a Vision plan, and she seemed rather baffled by the 30 day thing.

Does anyone know if I have a current contract thats expired [month to month] that contains two phones, if I add a third line [PPC6700 fron sprintnetwork] will it make my other two phone under that new 2yr contract?

Vision is free for first 30 days, so just tell Sprint (*2) to add it for free during first 30 days.

You have much better bargaining power during first 14 days trial period.
You can (and should) use that first 14 days to get the best deal you can, starting next billing cycle.
When you explain you want to make sure that your plan starting next billing cycle is what you want, and you need to make sure during the 14 day cancellation period, they will go out of there way to hook you up during first 14 days. (you need to know what plans and features you want and at what price. search threads for plan features and pricing before calling). After 14 days, you can no longer cancel without penalty, so you lose the edge you had. (Note that the Sprintnetwork ebay deal may not have the same 14 day return policy, but Sprint does not know this, and treats you as if you can cancel during the first 14 days while making a deal).

I wil kind of second what mr focker said about being a " good customer. " I just called sprint and told them about my situation [ not sure if i was in retention section or not] but they price dmatched the ppc6700 and I didnt even have to open a new line of service. All I did was renew my contract which was expired anyways. I asked the rep on the other side if they price matched and she put me on hold and said yes. I told her i would open a third line if need be she double checked with a SV and i guess it wasnt necessary. I wasnt in my office when i called, i was out all i was doing was checking on if there was a spendng limit on my account she checked and there wasnt. she asked why i wanted to know, thats when i told her about the ebay deal and i told her that someone at ecare told me that sprint wouldnt price match. she told me that i wasnt able to charge equipment to my account, then i further explained the ebay deal and that they were a national wireless reseller and how could a reseller offer me that deal but sprint cant. She said she didnt know and put me on hold and came back and said we would price match.

long story short i watched the credits apply to my account online and i got a new phone on its way. now maybe i will ask for SERO. seeing all i had to do was ask for a price match.

Yes, if you booked the order with them on your Sprint credit (that is, you sent them no money) that is how they set you up - on your existing Sprint account.

You could get the deal and cancel the original line like you said and lose your number.
Or you could keep 2 lines and do an ESN swap.

If you're under contract with Sprint I think you would have to give up your number unless you go with a 2 line plan.

I'm wondering why do I have to lose my number? Lets say my contract runs out, can't Sprint hold my number for like 30 days in case I wish to sign up again. Why do they have to give my number to someone else right away?

I too bought a phone from a reseller simular to the guy you speak of. I got mine under $120 after all the deals and rebates. The guy said after one month I can add this phone to my family plan but right now I had to get the $59.99. I got the phone from him within a day of ordering it. So far all is good other then the usual lockups which I never had on my non pda phone.

I don't think the Ebay deal works that way. They sign you up for a new plan with a new number unless you're porting from a different carrier.

I'm still waiting to hear from those that have managed to not only get the phone but successfully transfer them to their existing plans. This guys still selling phones so post if you've had any luck with this.

Personally, I'm printing off the deal listed on his eBay store for the PPC-6700 and trying my luck with price matching through Sprint's customer service this weekend. If that doesn't pan out I'm planning on making the leap and buying through eBay.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM SPRINTUSER IF YOU WANT SERO.

For some reason they do not want me to change to SERO until after 6 months. Said if I changed to SERO, I will get charged full price for the phone+activation fee. Now im stuck with the 29.99 F+F plan w/ 15$ Vision package.....and they told me this after 30 days of my purchase!! Can they do this???

Ok, I've finally gotten thru my last moths billing period and it looks like I got something I didn't want. Maybe it was inevitable because I wanted the PPC-6700 so bad! I was under the impressin that the sprintnetwork guy was gonna change my plan to F&F for families and have both my old phone and new 6700 share minutes. I'm still kinda fuzzy on whats going on with my plan but it seems that I have 2 separate plans under my name.....Oh well, do you guys think I will be able to change it all to be 2 phones sharing minutes under 1 F&F for families plan? Or will that be a renig on one of the plans that exist now? I did get a $406 discount off the 6700. Which is great but I'm thinking I might be in the exact situation that I thought I was being careful NOT to get into. (feeling like I was duped into opening a whole new activation). We'll how this goes. I'm still happy to have the 6700 tho. Don't get me wrong. hehe.

Yes, you should be able to do that, but it will require renewing the contract on both lines, not just the new one.

I can easily believe that sprintnetwork, as a reseller, does not have the authority to modify an existing line. Perhaps he just meant to tell you that you could combine the two lines into a shared plan.

I still think the SERO audit thing is BS. Sprint gave me SERO on both lines just by calling and asking for that plan, no referral. What's there to audit. I wonder if they even keep the referral email on record for people that signed up on the SERO website

Just got my first month bill. Seemed higher then expected even after the discount credits. Turns out I was being charged for Internet usage. I was told I was supposed to get the first month of internet free by the seller. Lucky the guy at the sprint support line gave me the credit of $66 back . So be careful about this! Make sure you have vision beofre you go using internet. He also told me I need to buy power vision for this phone to avoid future charges even though I told him I was going to swap esns with a phone that has vision on it. I guess you can't use normal vision with this phone.

I did it and it worked out just fine. I paid $277 on my first bill. About $80 something of that were charges for the first monty of $87. Then...$18 was a second phone activation; then $22.01 were taxes. Therefore, I really did get the 6700 for $199 or maybe even less than that. I think I calculated that it cost me about $150. So you can say that I did pay the $199 they said I would, with a $50 credit and no activation. I bought mine from a guy named PO Box 440, on ebay.

Remember you pay 1 month in advance so the first month's bill can be a little higher. I paid about $100 too because I'm billed for the prorated usage the first month and the full month ahead.

I was planning on canceling my one line Sprint for T-mobile 2 line service. They transferred me to retentions and Sprint gave me a better deal on the shared plan. Now I'm looking at the 6700 from ebay user, sprintnetwork as my 2nd line. I'm planning to buy from him and keep the $60 plan for 1 month and then transfer the 2nd line (6700) to my share plan and keeping the same phone #. Will I still keep the credits and not mess up my retention plan?

Has anyone ordered from sprintnetwork and was on the scenario?

To get your rebates from sprintnetwork, you really need to wait until you get your first invoice and SEE that the rebates have been applied to the line. Don't do ANYTHING until then, otherwise you'll get nothing. All I did was change my phone #, and I lost all the rebates. After explaining what happened, they promised to give me a few $25 service credits, but they never came through and wouldn't return my calls.

If you can manage to have the retentions deal open for up to two months, it will work. If you need to start it immediately, not gonna happen.

this is what i just did yesterday. I was already in an agreement with sprint. i got my 6700 threw him.. signed up for his 60 bucks plan. waited the 30 days. made the 2 accounts into 1 shared account. (they said my first add a phone was free). then switched the two phone numbers around so that my new 6700 had my old phone number. but i had to carry around 2 phones for 30 days haha. i only told a few people about my new number cuz if u tell everyone your going to have a new number for 30 days only then back to your old number people will get confused. but hey.. save 500 bucks for 30 days with a new number? worth it to me!

Thought I would update...I called SprintNetwork today to order another 6700 at the $39 price (business account). The rep I talked to said that the offer was no longer available...even though the ebay auction is still up and doesn't expire until May 14th. He said it would only be sold the old price of $114 and he would have the ebay auction taken down. I was a little put off by him saying it wasn't available even though I was looking at the auction, however, I talked to him a bit and actually was ok with his explanation. He said they only put that auction up because Pobox (what ever the other guys name is) had dropped the price to $49. Now it is back to $199...so no more deal :) I appreciated him just being honest about it...really was a nice guy and knowledgeable. One other thing I haven't seen mentioned...since I am a business account, he said I have to fax a copy of my incorporation certificate and a drivers license...anyone else been told this? He looked my account up, saw I was preapproved for 6 lines and said everything could be billed to my account etc. but he would need those doc's faxed.

I went same route with same seller all went smooth other then fact that sprint bills you for a month and a half , so that 59.99 turns into more like $108 . Also make sure you have vision on that line. I was told I get it free first month, but when I got bill I had charge of $66 for data services. I called Sprint they said there was no vision on this line and that was usage charge. Lucky the guy refunded me the charge after I told him I was told it was included free first month as I was told. So after this and that I got things resolved and hopefuly my next bill looks normal. Love the phone but they do have some issues as far as battery life that only last a day if you don't use the internet hevyly other wise you'll get lucky if you have power before the afternoon sun goes down.

Thanks for the great infos. How fast did you get the phone's discount/rebate credited to your bill ? The month charge in advance is normal practice for Sprint, so i expected that on my bill; however, i'm kinda worry about the discount/rebate that ebay seller promised. The battery's life really doesn't bother me, i hardly use the phone. I just bought it for gadget

my question is will Sprint put me on the new plan i ask for immediately, or will i have to wait until the current month is over for the new plan to be effective?

-What did you bring in with you to the store?
-How did you start the conversation?
-Did you receive any hesitation from the sprint rep and how did you get around that?

Thanks

Sorry it took me so long to reply, but I haven't been online much recently. All I did was print the browser window showing the advertisement (I think it too two pages to print everything). I simply told the rep that I was interested in purchasing two phones and while we were talking I asked if they would price match another sprint retailer. She said yes. There was no hassle or hesitation on her part. Go for it (if you haven't already).

I believe the minimum to keep the line active before you can cancel it is 6 months. After 6 months, you can cancel the line and keep the phone, but you still pay the ETF. I think the minimum you have to stay on the expensive plan is 60 days, and I believe the minimum you have to keep the phone on that particular number is either 30 days or 60 days.

itemzbay and sprintnetwork are one and the same. I've called both and gotten the same two guys at both #'s/companies. Personally, I don't trust them. Pobox is another one... I've had personal experience with him. Stay far away... I added a line to a family plan through him, and he completely hosed my account. Took me over an hour with customer support to get my plan back the way I had it (my discounts disappeared along with credits for perks that I had after his handiwork), at the end of which I cancelled the line and returned the phone. Very vague about what he does as well... just be very careful if you choose to work with any of these eBay dealers. I'd make sure to get everything in writing, too (confirm the terms via an email from them.)

What are the guys names you have been talking too?

I have been in contact with a couple of these ebay sellers and 2 of them I am sure are the same guys, itemzbay and sprintnetworks. A guy named June and someone else. Very scetchy people. There are 2 others, preferredsourcing and pobox4403 that will absolutly not respond to emails. I have perfect credit and should have no problem adding a line but they will not respond.

The funny thing about the 2 people I have spoke with so far is that that will not let you aprove you to bid with the Buy It Now option like you should be able to. They first ask to complete the transaction and then tell you after you recieve the phone that they will send you a link to(I assume) use the buy it now. This is not how things should work. With them doing this you have no protection with a mediator or third party(eBay) to make sure the transaction goes properly. So basically if a transaction goes wrong you have the oportunity to leave feedback. :bang: So yeah, they have great feedback, but the problem is its only because they give people a chance to leave feedback when they are sure it will be possitive.

And the really sketchy thing is the response I got from the rep June when I presented this fact flat out, "ahhh, well, ahhh, once approved we will send you the phone and a link to leave feedback afterwards". Well, Duh, thats the problem. So I went back and forth with him just pointing back to their policy, until eventually he just said "You don't give us any money upfront, its all on your bill." What the hell kind of response is this, they ask you for information like your Name, SSN, Address, ect, and he has the AUDACITY to say you don't give them anything up front!!!! WHAT?

So these are my thoughts, anyone have any more info on these guys or horror stories?

I have used sprint network. I did an ESN swap the same day I got my phone. I got my rebate on my sprint account. I didn't pay them anything up front. You can send the phone back within 14 days for a refund. I'm a happy customer and I think they're fine. I'm going to get another phone from them.

How much did you get it for and was it for new activation? Was also wondering which store in Florida?
Thanks

i wish there was a way, i just signed on to sprint in dec. with 2 lines and don't need another, and it would be too expensive to add the line then after 30 days cancel it and pay the $250 or whatever to do that....if i could even do that!

i think i'm just gonna keep browsing and try to find a treo 650 anyways

Person on Ebay selling one for $400 with no activation. Can't seem to find a better deal without activating. May have to take the plunge.

So I had looked at this deal a few months ago, and just want to confirm.

I have no account with Sprint right now - I would be porting from Cingular. So this is the ideal situation, right?

What is every discount I should be asking for, taking advantage of? Thanks.

"June" and "Tom" are two guys that I've spoken to calling the numbers for both Itemzbay and Sprintnetwork. Same voicemail/extensions, same name, same voice... I think it's safe to say the two eBay IDs are the same company, with the same group working both. I decided not to deal with either of Itemzbay or Sprintnetwork based on my conversations with them... it just seemed shady. I couldn't get a straight answer to simple questions, couldn't get anything (even a price) in writing (and since they won't let you bid on the auction until after you do the deal and they know you will post positive feedback, you don't even have a printout of the auction ad for proof, nor the very minimal protection of eBay or Paypal to help.) In the end, I just didn't trust them.

Regarding Pobox... I do have personal experience with him. I have read several bad reports about this one, but I got my questions answered, and got everything in writing through email. Bought a phone from him. Then a few days later, I notice my Sprint account is completely blown up. My loyalty discount was gone, my credits for free options were gone, and every phone in my plan showed up as an add-a-phone--I had no plan and zero minutes. It took me over five hours on the phone with *@$%**$%#! customer service to straighten it out, and I'm still missing a $50 credit that I had prior to that jerk destroying my plan. I think he's a complete fraud at worst, an utter idiot at best.

While I have not dealt with Preferredsourcing, I did speak with him (I think it's just one guy, however, I could be wrong and my experience may be different than some as a result), and would have done a deal had I not been hooked up directly by retentions when I tried to cancel after the Pobox fiasco. Preferredsourcing seems to to be legit, he was very upfront about everything, very specific as to what his stipulations were, how his commissions worked, how he structured his deals... I would be comfortable buying from him, and would actually recommend him, with the warning to just be vigilant in honoring his terms (there are certain things that will kill the deal with all of these guys, such as switching the plan to SERO within six months [I guess Sprint changed how they charge back dealer's commissions in many instances back on May 1]). But if I were activating new service and not using SERO, I would have no qualms about using preferredsourcing, personally. The other three, I would avoid at all costs.

If you bought from him after May 1st, I believe you will be charged back for the full retail price if you switch to SERO, based on what I have been told by two people affiliated with Sprint (one dealer/agent, one employee.) You may want to check this out thoroughly before you do so, unless the phone price is not an issue for you. Supposedly, Sprint changed how they handle commissions in May, and of course, the deals are based on these volume dealers giving up a good chunk of their commission... this is why they only deal with top-tier credit customers. Sprint has a sliding commission scale, and the dollars drop off rapidly as the credit rating declines.

I just ordered my PPC-6700 from sprintnetwork today. It will be here tomorrow. :fingers: I had to buy the $60 plan with EVDO and unlimited text. After 30 days I am going to switch it over to my Family share plan. After that, I am not sure what I am going to do with my Treo 650. Either give it to my wife or sell it here.

Has anyone actually completed this process yet....buying it an a separate line and then switching it to your family share plan. I am just curious to see if anyone hit any roadblocks.

Thanks!

yeah you can do it...lots of us have done it...

i started with the $60 free incoming minute plan...28 days later I changed it to a $10.00 Add a phone on my 2000 minute plan....

the big thing is to make sure you get your rebates/discounts credited to your bill...

and if you try you might be able to switch sooner without having any problems...

I ordered a 6700 on an additional line yesterday afternoon from SprintNetwork over the phone. The guy I spoke with, Joon, was very friendly and helpful. He told me that if I faxed in my two forms of ID (phone bill and license) by 3PM EST that I'd have my phone today. I'm tracking it right now and it's out for delivery. I can't wait until I receive it. I'll post my final thoughts once I've gotten a chance to play with it.

Does the 2 forms of ID have to be a phone bill? Some of us don't have land lines, so a phone bill would be out of the question. :/

No. It can be a utility bill of any kind, or a work ID, or military ID, etc. Anything that can legally prove who you are.

Cool,
What I was planning on doing was having my bf order the phone and the service (he allready has sprint) and since he has better credit than me. After 30 or so days do a transfer of liability of the phone to my name, (I'll have to pay a $125 deposit).

They are legit. As someone as stated, they work on commission. They use ebay as a means to advertise and nothing else. I have 4 phones on my account now, and I just added a fifth. I haven't encountered any problems thus far. I just treat them as an authorized Sprint dealer (which they are) without any overhead like a Pinkys Wireless, etc. All the things they ask for are legit and necessary. I am in no way affiliated with sprintnetwork, but I've just had positive experiences with them even when, on a couple of occassions, things went badly... they worked them out for me.. pretty serious things like wrong area codes, changed numbers so rebate didn't pan out, stuck with high sprint bill $400 for phone, etc. Sprint affiliates must do really well for them to offer deals like this.

I think they select who they want to call back based on the phone number u leave them. I have been with Sprint over 8 years and have excellent credit with them. Once I left my cell # on the voicebox, I got a call back within 1 hour. My friend left his Nextel #, they didn't call him back even though he left a message about same time as I did. He has left messages for 3 days in a row and still no return call. :wavey:

Not exactly true, because i called 1st time and got through, had a problem and he told me to call him back, called back and got through again right away. Then after the order was complete and i just called to get a tracking number for it he didnt answer or respond to my VM i left him, tried a few more times with no luck. MY guess is he does his answering of calls based off of the city/state that is calling him.

As in if you call him and place an order, order goes through and you try to call again he wont answer but if someone from a differ city/state calls he will answer. Might not be true but thats just how it looks to me

Hi, new guy here. I just got a great deal on ebay from this authorized sprint dealer. I had contacted the other two stores on ebay selling the 6700 and they told me that I had to buy the phone with credit back on my first bill. They also told me I couldn't get a family share plan with their offer. If I wanted to get a phone for my wife I would have to do the same deal, buy and get the credit towards my account with sprint. I then called Paul at preferredsourcing and the guy was great. I told him what I wanted and who I had talked to and he said that he could put me on a family share plan, no problem. I work for a healthcare organization here in Minnesota and I knew they gave a 23% discount and he deducted that from my family share plan too. Then he "threw in" the Samsung 920 for free for my wife. The guy was great to work with, he returned phone calls and acted on my application really fast. Best of all, I paid $49.99 for my new 6700. Give the guy a try.

Try WIFICELLWORLD on ebay, and just add a line onto your existing account, and after 30 days just switch the PPC to your main line. Even at the $49.99 they sell it for, minus the $25 credit to your account sprint is offering for adding a line, so $24.99 for the phone and 9.99 a month for service on it, it still comes out cheaper than retentions priceing on it.
