I NEED HELP WITH MY SAMSUNG A840 PHONE, I USE WAP SITES SUCH AS 3GFORFREE TO DOWNLOAD RINGTONES. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM BEFORE BUT JUST RECENTLY WHENEVER I TRY TO DOWNLOAD RINGTONES MY CELL WILL SHUT OFF. ALSO I USE A SITE CALLED RUMKIN.COM TO UPLOAD MY RINGTONE FILES, WHEN YOU UPLOAD YOUR FILE IT SENDS A LINK TO YOUR CELL PHONE SO YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE RINGTONE YOU MADE. WHEN I TRY TO EXTRACT THE LINK AND DOWNLOAD THE RINGTONE ONCE AGAIN MY PHONE SHUTS OFF. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHY THIS IS HAPPENING? MORE IMPORTANTLY HOW OR CAN I FIX IT? PLEASE HELP IF YA CAN. you might want to turn the cap locks off.
are you sure you are downloading the correct types of ringers. meaning if you tried to download an aac ringer and your phone didnt support it it wont work.
there are other upload sites out there you can try.
is it one site you are having troubles downloading ringers on or is it every site.

This phone is famous for being troublesome. I ran a :search: just for A840 and came across quite a few people complaining about how it randomly and sometimes not-so-randomly shuts off. Here's just one of them...
Now, I haven't really read any solutions to this problem other than replacing the phone with a completely different model. Some things you could try are removing the battery for about 30 seconds or resetting the phone from the Security menu. Neither of which are guaranteed to work.

it happens with all sites, and it doesn't matter what type of ringtones. for example: i can use .qcp files and it will still shut off. i tried removing the battery deleting the cookies restarting the browser. I havent tried restarting the phone yet, i dont want to do that unless its going to fix the problem for sure. I don't want to lose the ring tones and other applications on my phone
