I'm thinking about getting a PDA for my business. I'm torn between the 6700 and the Dell Axim X51v. From what I've been told, the Axim is more compatible with Microsoft on my home PC. As far as price, both are in the same ball park. I just need to decide which would work better.
Any comments or suggestions welcomed.

the 6700 is a phone too O_o
and they're both WinMo5 so it would stand to reason they'd work about the same with your PC... though this is purely conjecture and IMO neither are very good devices (see: "they're both WinMo5")
do you want a phone or not?

do you want a phone or not?
More importantly, do you want to be able to send those files out anywhere you go?
If so, then you want the 6700.
If that isn't as important, then either one will do. (Though the reduction in equipment that needs to be carried should still swing you toward the 6700.)
As for compatability, don't listen to Dell. The 6700 is just as compatable with WinXP. Dell has a nasty habit of dissing anything non-Dell.

I think it depends on two things:
1) Do you want to carry two items to conduct business?
2) Would your business benefit from you having a phone and PDA in 1?

Great comments! Even though I just bought a new phone, it would make sense to have just one thing that can do either.
Can you transfer Microsoft Spread Sheets from the 6700 to a PC and vice versa?

Yes, you can transfer spreadsheet, word docs, powerpoint presentations, etc.
The 6700 can do EVERYTHING that the Dell can do. Plus it can get on the internet with broadband speeds, and you can talk on the phone too.
Don't listen to anyone that tells you the Dell is more compatible. They run the same operating system, so they're equally compatible.

As long as you use Excel (#), go for it. PExcel will just strip the fancy bits off - extra fonts, frames and so on, - leaving you with the bare-bones sheet. When you send it back to the desktop (#), you'll have to add them back in if you want them. Same with PWord. Function over fancy.
With PPowerpoint, all you can do is show them. But if youi're prepared, that can be enough. The ability to do a one-on-one 'Point presentation from your handset (#) will really wow (#) a client.

On common sense alone that statement is a joke. Moving on. Its a matter of carrying one device or two. They are both going to be able to do the same exact things....Actually not true. The 6700 will be more of a mobile device allowing you to check your email, search the web, and do alot of other stuff while on the road. No need to look for a hot spot or sync to a pc.......Obviously you know what my choice would be. I already made it.

LOL, yeah, I think most of us here all made the same choice. Well, close enough anyway. I use a 6600 myself. But same difference, really.
You just can't compare the Axim to a PDA that has a phone (and the internet) built into it. When you can create/edit your files and then email them right then and there, you just can't beat that. If you can check your email or get on the web anytime you want, from wherever you may be, you just can't beat that.
I will never give up my PDA phone. When I get rid of my 6600, I will be replacing it with another PDA phone.
As has been said, when you only have to carry 1 device, it makes thingsw a lot easier. And since the PDA is built into your phone, you know you will always have it with you when you need it.
OFF TOPIC:
Someone over at HoFo posted that Sprint will be releasing a PPC-7000 soon. Does anybody know anything about that?
