is it possible to transfer video into the memory card and view them over the phone??

Yes, just put any videos in the MEDIA folder, the same place you put MP3s.

and your vids are either in .3gp or .mp4 format sized at 176x144 right?

The 9000 media player can only handle .3gp/.3g2/.mp4 video format at 176x144 resolution. Any other resolutions or video formats will be rejected.

3GP_Converter...it's a free program...you should be able to find a link to it on the site here somewhere or do a web search...it's on a japanese site, but if you download the executable, when you run it, you have the option to use English...

There are various free tools, but I myself use DVD Catalyst. It is able to legally convert a commercial DVD into various formats. I myself typically convert a commercial DVD movie first into DivX (.avi, 640x480, 24fps) for playback on a Toshiba e800 PocketPC. I then also convert that file into Generic MPEG4 (.mp4, 176x144, 15fps) for playback on my Sanyo MM-9000.
