Yesterday, I took pictures in the morning and everything was working fine, but later on that night, I was trying to take a picture but the cammera wouldnt activate. I tried taking out the battery as well as reseting the phone through the securities options.
The first time I "reset" through securities option, the cammera worked again but when I exited the menu and tried to go back in, the same results happen. It would say "Loading" and show a quick glimpse of the cammera loading icon but would then go right back to my phones main background. Also, sometimes it would make the main LCD go completely black and reboot my phone saying that it had lost all service. I've tried to "update" my phone through the tools/extras section in hopes that it might be fixed, but I'm only presented with "To update your phone at a later time, go to {Tools/Extras} and select {update phone}"
My phone's specs are
Software: 1.004SP
Hardware:0101
This is very fustrating because this is my 2nd 8300 ever since I've upgraded my phone from a samsung(which i thought had many more problems) a few months back. With my first 8300 I had a sticky button that wouldnt work half the time. Now, Im presented with this faulty cammera. Any infromation would be grately appreciated.

Would that be through lockline or through the sprint store? Last thing I want to do is be without a phone yet again and deal with Locklines BS. Like I said, if I have to trade in this phone, itll be on my 3rd 8300.

well if u have insureance usually at the store they will replace it. and dont feel bad i have had about 7 sanyo 8200 before, until the sotre got fed up an gave me an brand new 8300/ reason why they did that was becasue for soom reason i had bad luck with 8200 from battery not charging to faulty screen, faulty button and phone wotn turn on. and other ect.

Well I brought it in to them yesterday and they said that they would have their tech look at it. I brought up the issue of the update might be a cause and the rep told me there was no update from the current software I had. Later he retracted his statement lol. Well long story short, an hour later the tech came out with a new box saying that my phone couldnt be fixed. He stated that this was a common problem for the first gen 8300's(with the red sprint logo) and that someone on their staff had the same problem. Now, I have the current software and a new phone!
BTW, is there a way to check to see how many hours of time the phone has been used like a life timer if you will?

I have the exact same problem right now. To every last detail. Have tried resetting multiple times, everytime I click camera, it flashes for a split second then goes back to main background. If I do it multiple times in a row, the phone will go black and slowly reset itself. Sprint store here I come, I'm excited for a new phone!

what is the difference between software versions 1.004SP and 1.005SP (i believe this is the new 1) on the 8300, and why should it be updated?

I'm pretty sure another thread concluded the only difference is the new logo on the splash screen
