i have the pm 8200 and wanted to get the i870 with nextel for the walkie talkie service but i text message alot and heard it was slow with nextel phones is this true

Never heard of that. Then again I've never met anyone with Nextel that uses text. They always use walkie talkie. :p

Nextel text messaging sux.......thats why i switched to sprint

nextel txt is slower than the other companies, but the i870 is a hot phone i just switched back to nextel and got it. i also txt alot...you just get used to it after a while.

I have no idea what you guys are smoking... The newer Nextel phones have instant SMS text messaging. My g/f and I text each other all day and they come through instantly, whether we're in the same room or 4 states away.

i was refering to mms, not sms. mms is when it says "downloading..." and "sending..." for a few seconds when you recieve & reply to messages. it has been quicker on the 870 for me than it was on the 860.
