View Full Version : 7500 Hinge Problem

I just got my 7500 on 1/14/06 and I just noticed that the hinge is beginning to come apart along a parting line. Some may call this a crack, but technically it is not. I have not dropped my phone a single time, nor damaged it in any way (those who have bought phones off of me can attest to that). I have tried to 'snap' it back together, using a decent amount of force, but to no avail.

Has anyone else experienced this? Can it be repaired?

As usual, my phone is perfect. ;)

That is, if I can keep it out of the freezer.

Man that's weak, take that crap back to the store and b**ch until they give you a new one. How's that supposed to pass off as the rugged phone in the sprint lineup? I'm glad none of the ones that I've sold to nextel converts have come back...yet...

It's hard to tell from the photos, but is the hinge built in 2 pieces where there is a seam there anyway, and it's getting loose, or was the hinge built in one piece, and it's breaking in two? Either way, it is disturbingly reminiscent of many others who have complained about their older Sanyo's hinge's breaking for no apparent reason. But it does look like a totally legit reason for them to give you a replacement, it's only a matter of time before the crack makes it all the way to the other side.

Believe it or not, I pressed the two pieces together real hard and it snapped back into place.

As Fisher-Pricey as it may look, you couldn't pay me to take my old Samsung Blade in place of it. Not trying to start anything, but jus sayin.

Wow, I just got rid of my blade for 7500, seems to be a lot of people who have done this.
