I posted this question in my own thread, and now I can't find it!! Oh well. Here's the answer: go to http://www.sprintpcs.com/support/guides/sanyo.html Use the USB Mass Storage driver link under the 5600. It's the same driver for "Sanyo Mass Storage". You should be able to unzip the drivers and point the HW wiz to that folder. Good luck!

I believe the download from Sprint support (http://www.sprintpcs.com/support/guides/sanyo.html) just allows you to mount the phone's miniSD card as a Windows drive.
If you want to access the phone's data in BitPim (http://bitpim.sourceforge.net/), you need modem support to talk to the phone. This is covered in the Sanyo 9000 Phonebook Save/Write Success (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86427) thread, where people provided links to various downloads on **********.com.
I've compared the sanyo_mass_storage.zip driver from Sprint to the sany9000usb_drivers_4557.zip on **********, and they include different .inf files. I don't understand where the ********** driver came from, but it worked for me!?

The Sanyo 9000 driver on **********.com was reportedly extracted from Sprint's own Connection Manager download.

Hmm.. i have no drivers at all on my PC for my phone and i just select "MASS STORAGE" on the phone and windows finds it. I might have an old Sanyo 8100 usb driver on that machine but thats it.. i assumed 9000 didn't need drivers since it came with no disc.

I was looking for them so that I could use the phone as a modem. The drivers work great, and you just use regular dial-up software built into windows!!!

I'm having a difficulty trying to transfer wallpapers or mp3s to the 9000, the mass storage drive shows in my computer but it won't allow me to transfer anything to the phone. Any ideas? The pop up box says to make sure the file path is correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is your memory card correctly inserted and properly working? The drive letter that shows up on your computer is solely access to the phone's memory card, not to the phone's internal memory.

Yes, the memory card was inserted and working properly, I was able to save pictures from the phone to the card. I have USB 1.1 and not 2.0, I wonder if that's the issue. For the time being, I bought a mini SD USB reader and that seems to work fine for transfering media to the card, now I just have to learn how to find it on the phone.

I'm a total newb to Sprint and Sanyo/Samsung phones and I've never dealt with external storage for a handset before. Right now I'm trying to learn what format wallpapers have to be in so the phone will recognize them and also if I have to create a certain folder on the mini SD card to put them in or do I just put them in the regular pics folder? I also can't find my wallpapers on the phone that I put on the mini SD.

First, you can always load wallpapers/screensavers onto the phone via an uploader like this one:
http://www.sprintusers.com/focus/
In this case, be sure to resize to 240x320. (You can use the Toshiba VM4050 setting.)
Second, you can indeed copy photos onto your miniSD card, into the same folder as the photos you have taken with the phone itself. However, I think that any such photos you add must be either in one of the sizes used by the phone itself: 240x320 or 960x1280. If you use one of these correct sizes, the photos you have added should then show up on the phone along with the photos your phone took itself. You can then use Set As to make any such photo a wallpaper, caller ID, etc.
Note that actual wallpapers and caller IDs are then stored in the phone's internal memory, and can be browsed via Menu->Tools->Assign. Media->Picture.

For doing that you dont need drivers as XP see's the MSD card as a removable device, ie flash driver and such. For contacts and such you need the actual drivers. If you arent trying to backup your phone book what you have already is perfect.

lgmayka, I appreciate all your help!! For now I've been uploading wallpapers to my online photo albulms and then saving to the phone but I'll definitely check out the uploader you linked me to when I get home from work.
The wallpapers that I put on the mini SD last night were all 240x320 but I can't find them anywhere on the card once it's in the phone but it does show up while plugged into my PC. From the phone, I've checked every folder in there and the only thing that shows up are the mp3s that I have on there and nothing else. I'll try a couple other things later like format the card from the phone and then add the folders from the phone which I didn't do to begin with (didn't know or think I had too...LOL), maybe that will solve my problem.
Again, I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction!!
