Change the key LED's on a 8300

IS it possible to change the LED illumination of the keypad? I find the greenish yellow annoying and would like a nice blue... Antne ever attempt to open it up and swap the LEDs?

Welcome to SU... please do a search and you will find that information. Yes it is possible to do, but you'll have to find a trustworthy person or be very capapble yourself if given the info to do it.

Instead of being a smarty pants try looking through the options given to you, or change your query? it's only nonsense because you are waiting for someone to hand it to you. The information is there if you take your time and look

Someone call a WAAAMBULANCE for the crybabies sheesh! I'm not arrogant the information was there YOU said it was nonsense not me. And do you know why it was nonsense to you??? Because there are 20+ threads with information leading to the question you asked.

Simply put you didn't want to look through the information, you wanted someone to just hand you the answer that was already there. You didn't NEED any help you wanted a someone to coddle you. Hope you and viperboy have a good time skipping to the short bus together hand in hand.

yea i pmed the guy about the specific SMT LED's he used since the link is down... doing it myself is no issue (ive modded every light in my car thus far with LED's)...

just need part numbers and then its off to ebay i go :)

I can't believe how abosultely cold and rude this original response to the original question was. What a waste of bandwith (and sadly I am adding to it)...makes me want to avoid asking a simple question if I can't find the answer to it - I just might get treated like a two year old...glad to know that some of the responses can be so mature and understanding - but talk a about a bad first impression. ~sigh~ I suppose - that's what happens when we become more comfortable with related to a piece of metal vs a live body.

anyway...now that this drama is over...changing the LEDs is easy if you know how to solder tiny lights, if not, its not worth it...I've seen my friend do it, and its not something for someone who drinks 2 cups of coffee a day
