I don't know if anyone else has realized this or not; but I thought I'd share it since no one else has mentioned it.
It turns out that the 9000 has some "advanced" picture editing abilities. But they are only available for "medium" (480x640) sized pictures, not the full 1.3 Mega-pixel sized pictures (which is what most people use as default, so many never realize these functions exist). You can change a picture you've already taken to "medium" by selecting the photo in your album then going to "options" -> "details/edit" -> "resize".
Once you have it resized you can then go back to options->details/edit and you will now have a "special effects" option.
Under special effects you have:
Color Tones - You can change the to any of the color tones you normally have available when you take the picture (negative, blue, orange, sepia, etc)
Fun Stamps - Fun stamps are kind of cute, you can add little picture icons anywhere on the photo. Like little hearts, skull, lightning bolt, stuff like that.
Partial Zoom - you can zoom into an area of the photo and enlarge it. Pretty cool actually.
Rotate - Just what it sounds like, rotate it at 90 degree increments
Composite - You can combine 2 photos together, splitting down the middle either horizontally or vertically. Not as versatile as you may want, but it’s kind of cool anyhow.

Here's some examples I've done using just the phone editing functions:

This using just the color tone features and composite (4 times).

I just think its odd that its only on the smaller image sizes. thats why i never noticed it before.
Odly though it seems that you cannot resize pictures that are not the Sprint standard 3:4 ratio. One of my Verizon friends sent me a picture; and Verizon phones seem to take landscape type of shots instead of portrait; and i did not have the option to resize it, and hense could not use special effects on it.

the phone is also finiky about pictures taken from other phones. I tried to put a couple pics on the phone through the minisd that were taken by an a700, also with a landscape aspect ratio. they just showed up as X's.

7500 is capable also. But I can get 3 pictures into the composite by going vertical and then horizontal to add the next one. I would then like to go vertical to add a 4th one but it doesn't put it in the right spot as anyone been able to composite 4 pics.
