hey folks,
great forum by the way.
i just got a Sanyo RL4920 and am trying to figure out a way to upload my own custom ringtones to my phone.
As for a computer, i am on a MAC OS X platform... i was using this one program "RingToneChopShop" but just found out they will charge me a fee for using their software.
Does anyone know what ringtone formats are compatible (decent audio quality) with my phone? and how would i upload/transfer the ringtone to my phone.
thanks alot, if anyone can help me out.
peace.

The FAQ is your friend :D
EDIT: I just saw u are using a Mac. The purevoice download page has support for 7.x-9.x so I don't know if that will work. The link is here:

hey, thanks for the reply... as for purevoice, i'm on OS X. which they don't have a version of. do you know what audio formats are compatible with my phone? i've been reading that QCP and CDMA are the file formats... i also saw that MIDI files work too... but when i tried a MIDI file, i received an error on my phone.
thanks for the response... if you know of where i can get a WAV to WCP converter that would be awesome.
peace.

Just .qcp and midi. Not sure how else to convert wavs to qcp without the purevoice converter...that's how I've been doing it for years. Good luck!

I had the 4920 and the qcp ringers sound like a badly tuned a.m. radio.Stick with the midi, I use anvil studio to trim down for the ringer. :hair:
