If they come out with a new slim phone, I doubt it will be a 8k series

Not quite true here. Example the 7200 and the 7300.

Candy bar phone to a flip phone in the same series is my point. So, it is possible that the 8k series could include a different form than just a flip design.

I still don't think that'll happen. But that's again, my opinion.

Hmm...maybe the OP was thinking of the old Samsung 8500???
We're still like 2 years away from the Sanyo 8500, if they follow tradition.
Personally, I'd like to see a thin phone in the 9K series...we'll just have to wait and see if this ever happens.

Well come on, even someone with the slightest knowledge of sprint phones would know that there isn't a sanyo 8500 right now...you made your own bed there buddy.
My suggestion about the 4 year old phone was a genuine one, you posted the thread, and that's what I thought. If you don't like/want a response, don't start a thread. Simple as that.

SS, what made you choose a 7500 over the 9000?

SS, what made you choose a 7500 over the 9000?
the main reasons were:
1) already had the 5600 and that hinge never sat right with me
2) the 7500 is something totally new from Sanyo, and we all know how sprintusers are dying for something new from Sanyo

An interesting thought that is somewhat back to topic. I have seen a picture of a supposed sanyo 3100 that has camera + speaker phone and looks like a 8300 kinda. Also it isn't taking the place of the 2300 because there is a sanyo 2400 on the way.....so maybe the 8000 series is moving away from the current style, and then again maybe not....however if the 8000 series did move towards a slim RAZR / BLADE / Any thin phone series it would more than likely still be a flip with camera, video, ready-link, speakerphone, and by that time an ev-do phone with expandable memory, just in a totally different form factor than the current 8000 series. Then again any thin form factorit will more than likely be the 9000 series since that seems to be the new cutting edge series, taking the place of the 5000 series.
Two more thoughts, when do you folks expect to see the new 9000 series phone out, i thought the 5000's / 9000 (since it took it's place) came out around feb. march and the 8000's came out like march, april, may time frame. We haven't heard anything yet, and we still don't know anything about the PDA / side kick / whatever phone yet either. What gives, anyone have any thoughts?

Most likely the 8400 is just going to be a thinner and sleeker version of the MM-7500, with maybe a little less memory. After all the MM-8300 is for the most part just a MM-7400 with a smaller less rugged body and less memory.

Haha, I'm not lockline so you don't need to convince me, but lets be honest aside from the more durable body and extra memory the specs of the two phones are very similar. Of course to a lot of people those features alone are reason enough to want the 7400 over the 8300. I in no way wanted to turn this into a 7400 vs 8300 dispute, just wanted to say what will most likely be the basic specs of the 8400.

The MM-8400 will be a cheaper Samsung-A900 alternative...The body will be plastic.
