I have the PM-8200 and I noticed that when i'm not in a service area or when I lose service, that the clock doesn't display at all.. all that is said is, "looking for service". Is there a way to get the clock to display even when i'm not in service? Seems I also can't set the clock when I actually have service but I can when I'm not. Kindof wierd.

thanks

best thing I could think of would be to put your phone in airplane mode when out of service, that way it won't be 'looking for service' and the time will display. As far as settting the time, you don't need to when in service because that info comes from the tower, when not in service you may need to set it.

I was thinking of that as well.. thanks james. I guess that will have to do since you can't force the clock out of hiding automatically.

When the phone does not have service, it cannot retrieve the time from the digital network. If you're like me and use your phone clock as a watch, just flip it into airplane mode, and set the clock.

You'll have to throw it out of airplane mode to see if you have service again though...
