Is it possible to call a number and automatically redial that number until it's free (or like 10 minutes or something)? I have a Sanyo Vi 2300 but I hope this is not phone specific.

I cant think of any SPCS phone that has ever had that ability.
I do recall, back in my GSM days, my old Nokia 6188 had an automatic busy retry in it. Used it whenever I was trying to get into the radio station during a contest. A bit slow, but still faster than manually dialing. Other than that, no.

There's a code you can prepend the number with... it's one of the *69 or *67-like codes, I don't remember what it is though. Anyone else?

My Sony Ericsson did it when I was with Cingular, but I don't know of any recent Sprint phone that can. I'd love to know if there's a code though...

You're thinking of the *66 code, I believe.
It was *66 to retry until not busy and then ring your phone when the line was available and *86 to cancel all redial requests. To my knowledge though, it's only a landline option nor are any of the *codes that usually work from a landline.

Here's the * codes I've tried and use on a regular basis from my SPCS phone.
*67 works from SPCS phones, it will mark your number as PRIVATE on caller id.
*68 works from SPCS phones, it will unmark your number as PRIVATE and show proper ID info (if you have CID blocked at the account level, like I had for some time)
*70 works from SPCS phones, it will disallow call waiting, sending additional calls directly to voicemail while you're on a active call.
Thats about it. *66 fails, *69 is supposed to read off the last number that called you, but fails, as well as all the other * prefixed numbers, save *18, and *71.

It totally sucks that landlines can do it but cell's can't :(
What do *18 and *71 do? Is there a master list (official or not) of all these feature codes that are not phone specific?

*82 is unblocking your number (CID) , not *68.
also, *18 is finding the closest tower to your present location...
not too sure what *71 does....

How does *18 work? And what is it useful for? Would your phone not go for the closest tower to your location when you place a call?

DON'T DO IT. It will screw up your incoming calls when roaming.
