i dont think so...my parents and sister have the old Samsung VGA 1000 and they can get them? Does it not show up in you account manager on the sprint page?

Yes they are only avliable in curtain area currently. If your in a sprint affiliate market there are only two that have call tonesa. and I've been noticeing that the new evdo phones dont have acess to them. Not sure why the only reason I can think of evdo phones not haveing them is because of the music store?

On my 9000, downloads menu, theres an option for call tones. So its not all EVDO phones. But still..whatever the heck call tones are. :D

I have call tones in the South Florida area.

I access them through my Sprint Account page.

When you buy a call tone you can select it to be played when someone calls you. Instead of the usual ring, they will hear a message or song. There is a variety of files to choose from and you get to use them for 90 days. You can assign them to all calls, specific phone numbers, set up groups, etc. You can also set them to activate during certain hours of the day (ie after business hours if you want to remain professional).

Pretty cool actually and it usually throws people off the first time they call. :lol:

Especially when you use one that answers with "Hello, hello?! Who is this?" :laughing:

Ahh, that's what they are. I wondered how someone did that.

You can set them up on your phone, but I couldn't find a way to preview them, let alone anything explain what they were.

You can preview them online via sprint.com

Explaining what they are is easy. Just say it replaces the dialtone. Instead of hearing the dialtone you hear a song.

it replaces the sound of the phone ringing. The "bad" thing about them is the person calling you is being charged from the time the call tones connects on a long distance or a call from another carrier. Basically the line picks up as soon as the connection is made and sprint plays music or whatever you choose as opposed to the ringing.

the call tones are available by area code, and boils down to "corperate" market or "affiliate" market.

go get some!! and yep only in sprint pcs areas not affiliates.
