Anyone with "Network busy"?

Im getting this message for over 6 hours already. Everytime i connect to the web is said "Network busy" with a error. This only happend when im in a PV area, when im in a RV area everything works fine. Anyone have this error with PV? PV seems to be down. Since i can connect and browse the web with RV, once i enter a PV area, nothing works. Keep gettings errors when trying to view a page or connect with PV.

As a temporary workaround, go into the Debug menu and put the phone into 1x Only Mode, so that the phone won't even try EV-DO but rather will stick with 1xRTT.

How do i do this? I try ##debug#, but it asking me for a password of some kind. Where is the Debug menu?

Yep! I am having busy errors in the SF Bay area. I had a service notice from Sprints Vision site yesterday, but as of this morning...error. Funny thing though, I was able to update my s/w for A900, but Vision went bad afterwards. My wife didn't upgrade yet and has same issues. Anyone else in SF still getting service?

well for me it happend like 2 weeks ago the 1st time. called CS, got a ticket open and all. Ultimately they had me do a full reset of the phone (when you loose all settings) and it worked. but now its happening again, and i don't even wanna bother calling them again. because i don't think i really needed to do the reset anyhow. others have reported that in a week or 2 it fixed itself. So for now i've been setting my phone to 1X and keep checking back every now and then. oddly though its not like its the entire area. my friend lives in the same town and his PV is fine; but mine is out for the 2nd time. go fig.

Yes me too. I spoke to two of my friends that live in the bronx. One who has the A900 saids his PV is fine. However the other one who has the A940 saids his PV was down since friday night. I guess there is a network problem but its only affected certain people in the area. I got bad luck then. I guess i will keep at 1x only till PV is still working for me. The odd thing it was working yesterday night. It didnt even still up for 10 hours. When the morning came, PV is down. Keep getting "network Busy" when i try to connect when im in a PV area. Darn! :indiff:

well, as far as i know regular vision is not down. It just PV thats down.

OMG! I tried setting my phone back to hybrid to see if EVDO was working for me again. And not much to my surprise I got the normal time-out error. But when I went to set it back to 1x I thought just for the hell of it I’ll set it to EVDO only to see what happens. And believe it or not, it works!!! Has anyone else tried this??? It would seem then that the problem isn’t EVDO, but rather it’s the negotiation of picking what network (1X vs EVDO). So if you set force it to work on either network specifically it works, but if you set it to Hybrid to select for itself that’s when you may get problems.
Can anyone else confirm this?

Thanks. I put the phone in Hybrid again, and now PV works again. Even in Hybrid. I guess if it dont work again, we have to "Play" with the phone. Set it to EVDO only or hybrid. If it dont work again then i put it again in EVDO only. Strange thing.

wow, you're right. putting it back in hybrid after putting it in EVDO only seems to fix it!!!! I think we just figured out a good fix. granted we shouldn't have to do this, but at least now we have a pretty good way to resolve the problem without tech support resetting our phones, lol

Yes i guess we figure it out. Just hope we dont have to do it again. I guess for once we can fix our phones without getting help form tech.

No force EDVO fix in SF. 1X is the only thing working for me. Hybrid or EDVO Only still brings up "Network Busy" error. I spoke briefly this morning with CS and they said they were still conducting network upgrades and PV was down. They had no ETA for the restart.

I hope you get it back up soon. My works fine now. I think it will take days for everybody to get PV working again. I hope they fix the entire PV network, so that i wont be scare everytime i connect to net, just in case it goes out. I spoke to CS rep a day before this problem happend, the rep told me that they were about to do a Major PV upgrade on their networks.

Have you try doing that again, and then power cycle your phone?

yep. thx though. interesting update: went back to hybrid and now, only 1X icon service shows on phone, but working fine. maybe they shut down the evdo in bay area to service the problem? can anyone else in sf area check to see if they are only showing 1X service icons now?

Update: EVDO service seems to be restored in SF. Hopefully the upgrade is completed. I am running in the default Hybrid setting and last few minutes seem to be working. Hope it will be up for everyone else dealing with this nonsense.

small world, i'm north of boston too, lol.
I got the 9000, but i'm assuming the 7500 is the same. on the keypad ##3282# (stands for data). This brings you into the 3G Data Programming menu. Scroll down to Hybrid Mode and hit ok. Then it will ask you for you MSL Code. This is the Master Service Code. You will need to get this number from Sprint (there maybe be a way to get it from BitPim, but I'm not sure). This is the number that Customer Service used to program your phone (like when it was first activated). This number is unique for every phone. If you don't have this code, unfortunately you cannot procede; you can try calling Customer Service and ask them for this.
Anyhow, enter the MSL code and then you can select Hypride Mode, 1x Only Mode, and EVDO mode.

I'm having the same problem, but on a Samsung A900. I can't connect to any data service whatsoever (PV nor RV). When I press ##3283#, i'm taken to a menu, but there is nothing that says 'Hybrid.' I'm assuming that is a difference between Sanyo and Samsung. Is there anyone out there who can tell me how to change those settings (Hybrid, 1x, EVDO) on my phone? I already have my MSL number. Going to ##3823# is something else i believe. Follow these steps:

Go Menu/Settings/Display
Press the button 0
Add this code 040793
Hybrid/1X/EVDO (set to 1X Only or EVDO Only) which ever one. does this help?

First you should try CDMA, to see if you connect via 1xrtt only. If EVDO only or CDMA only does not work for you then it seems that the network in Ann Arbor is down. Putting it in Hybrid just tells the phone if it cant find a Evdo Signal, go find a 1xrtt signal.
