casual data usage ???

I know that without a vision package you are charged so much per KB ( 1 cent ? ). But what i dont know is how many KB's on average are usually used to download games or wallpapers/screensavers. Can anyone give me an estimate?? I want to download some games but dont want to have a huge bill next month.. THANKS. :wavey:

The average qcp ringtone is between 10-60k. I've seen plenty that are larger than that as well. More accurate would be 40-100k+.

The average game on the Sprint premium site is 60-150k+.

Dont forget the size of the pages you load up in your phone's browser before the download begins counts against your total as well. Think 2-10k for each.

For everything that you want to download, there should be a size listed somewhere in its description. *should*, as not all sites provide this information. Case else, you see how big it is when the download begins.. (1 of XX kb...)

Long story short, you see if very easy to get caught up and transfer large amounts of data in one sitting. Hell, I've only had my 9000 for less than a week, and already transferred over 120 megs on the beast. Thank god for old vision. :)

Well, it's worth noting that many of the newer games are well into 200KB+, some of them exceeding 300KB. I believe the charge is $0.02/KB now, so that would be $4-6 alone for one game. Add some ringtones, a few wallpapers, maybe another game or app and you're paying more than you would if you had a Vision plan. It's probably worth getting the plan for just one month, downloading everything you want that you can and then cancel it before the month is up.

No, not to cancel Vision. You'll just get charged for that one month. You get charged an outrageous termination fee when you cancel your entire account before your contract is up.
