lost my sprint phone
:(
good news is i qualify for $75 instant rebate cos I had my phone for a year. (i was told i could use that at Radioshack or Sprint stores.)

Any good deals? coupons etc? I don't mind a really basic phone as long as the price is right!

All of the current deals on phone are for new customers only. You can apply the $75 rebate off any phone you choice at full reyail price.

i would say the best idea is just pay the full price on a phone and dont use the 75 off or you will have to sign a 2 year agreement again. i would rather pay 75 than have to be in contract for 2 more years.

Don't forget the activation fee that they will charge you to activated a new phone. :icon_smil

Wait another year and get $150 off once you've got 2 years passed. You can get some good retention deals then too.

depending on the phone you do buy. 150 off a phone that is 500 reg price isnt much of a difference, its only 150 and you dont have to resign, but you might get some good deals if you do resign, just depending on where you have it done at and who you talk to.

that's the question  who/where should I re-sign?. 3 rd party reseller (buzzwireless said they'd "hook me up" for a used phone for 50$ if I re-sign. . Do they get a kickback??

I'm going to re-sign for 2 yrs. Have a great plan ($40 a month for 2 lines total) . Waiting a year for 150$ is not a option. (lost my phone)i really just need something basic. Called retention and they offered me 80 instant credit.

Thanks for the replies!

best deals are at a retail store, i work for a 3rd party company and we are pretty limited on what we can do, its also because of alamosa, but there isnt much we can do. i would say talk to a retail store or since your plan kicks ass just pay the 75.00 and not get into another contract.

Isn't the radio shack A740 free for new customers after a $80 instant rebate for new customers only? Maybe your store manager would let it go out the door at $75 for an existing customer with a $75 rebate available to them?

im still in limbo over this issue. ive discussed it with him before, we give the upgrade customers the same price as the new customers for sprint phones. hes told me to include the instant rebates with upgraders also. dont ask me why, its just what he said to do, so yes i have questioned this before myself too,

might as well use the $75.00 rebate, because any phone you activate will probably reset your eligibility for a rebate. in other words, next year your contract will be up, but you will only be eligible for a $75.00 rebate(if they still exists).

I'm new to Sprint and I understand how the Upgrade Program works, but I must say I don't like it. I was with Nextel for three years (two of them pre-merger) and when upgrading I was told by a Telesales rep that everyone gets the new subscriber price as long as you sign a new contract. I also have two phones currently with Verizon and they are basically the same way. New sub price with new contract.

This program will basically cause people to migrate to other companies in order to get good deals on handsets. I really hope that they revise this program in the next two years.

ive checked out verizons upgrade policy and it is every 2 years with the handset you get 100 off new price with activation, cingulars is 150 after 2 years with the handset. Sprints is not bad considering the 75 off after 12 months, which is right when your warranty expires anyways. People just need to understand the way it works, getting 150 off retail price is nearly new customer price after you figure in new customers have to pay a 36 activation fee, which you dont have to pay when you upgrade.

I emailed the eCare group becuase I am upgrading after a year of service. As a nice gesture they put notations to grant a additional $75 dollar credit. So maybe try doing that. Granted my plan is $100+ and I have a corporate discount both of those could have affected that but it is worth a try. Funny thing was I emailed them asking some other questions and didnt even ask for the additional credit. They gave it to me due to customer loyalty. So give it a try cant hurt.
