YAY!!! This post is going to be a bit long, but here is a post I did last night and the advice I got... what are your suggestions??

I recently found this site and have been reading through this thread and you have given some great advice! I hope you can help me too...

I have had the Nokia 6225 for almost 2 years, last week I decided that I was going to add a 2nd line and get the A900. After getting the $150 off the A900 for activating a new line, I wanted to swap it over to my primary line and put the Nokia on the 2nd line. (this took several cs calls and sprint store visits, but they finally did it so I'll skip that part.)

However, when I originally asked about what I would have to switch on my plan when going to a family plan and what I would have to do with my vision with the A900, I was given a lot of disinformation.

Before the change I had

$50 700 F&F
$10 Vision
$5 U/L SMS (price dependant on vision plan)
$5 7pm N&W
free pcs to pcs

I was told that when I added a line I would have to go to a family plan - $59.99 for 550 f&f. It was less for more, but I accepted it since I hoped to save minutes by giving the 2nd phone to my sig. other. I asked if I had to upgrade to a power vision plan with the A900, or if I could keep my current vision plan. I was assured on several occassions I could do so. I wanted to do this so I could grandfather the old vision and sms prices and not have to pay $20 for power vision and $15 for sms (of which I send 700-1000 a month.)

However, after getting the phone, I was told that I HAD to purchase a power vision plan, the A900 wouldn't work with my current vision plan. In doing so I would also lose the $5 sms and would have to pay $15 for the same thing. NOT HAPPY! I was on the phone today for over 2 hours with CS and a supervisor - very nice (they swapped my phones) but could give me no options at all about keeping my vision/sms combo or giving me a credit to offset the cost difference due to misinformation I was given before I activated the 2nd line.

I've been using power vision and picture mail all day today with no problems.... do I really need the power vision?? Or if I do have to change it... Im still in the 14 day opt out period and thought about talking to retention to get some sort of incentive to keep the 2nd line (since Id have to pay a lot more to keep the same amount of service I had before.)

Please help! This has been quite an ordeal, and all the Sprint CS reps say something different. I dont want to sit on the phone for another 2 hours! :indiff:

I would call retentions and inquire on what they can do to lower the total cost of your plan to something more reasonable. As you were not properly informed of this large additional cost for "power vision" I would expect a plan cost with 800-1000 minutes for about $80/month as opposed to the $95 your looking at now.

Suggested plan to ask for:

$50/1000 (free and clear type) minutes
Free 7pm nights
Free roaming
Free 2nd line
Free mobile to mobile (should be included on shared minutes plan)
$15 Power vision
$15 UL SMS
10% loyalty discount

Would be $72/month after discounts and before taxes. Its not a great deal, but it would put you at more minutes than the fair and flex plan offers. It gets you to about where you would be if you paid the $15 for the vision you have now and gets you power vision speeds and UL SMS. It only included the same level of "vision" you have now with pic-mail and higher speed service though.

Hope that you consider my suggestion and call retentions about it!

I recently found out that you can keep the normal vision. but in the future they will possably make it to where you can not have normal vision on a power vision phone so for now your okay.

based on information posted above, why dont you call and inquire why you can not have your old vision plan back. It was only changed based on yur being told that you can not have it on a powervision phone.

alternatively, you can try and see if retentions can get you the plan I mentioned.

I was wondering what it would take to get my night minutes moved back up to 8pm. When I switched from a single line plan to a two-phone plan (to add my wife on), then I lost my 8pm night minutes and moved to 9pm. I don't know that I need 6pm or 7pm, but I did enjoy having the 8pm included with my plan.

Any suggestions?

It will most likely be easier to get 7pm nights for free than getting the account coded for 8pm nights. 8pm nights was a retentions offer and is most likely not attachable to your plan.

Excellent. Free 7pm is better than 8pm, so I don't mind that. How exactly does one go about acquiring said minutes? I've just got a basic plan with an employer's discount at the moment (paying for $10 Vision/100 SMS on one phone). Anything free would be great.

Thanks!!

Actually, I don't have First Incoming Minute Free (not that I would reject it).

Here is my current plan:

Phone 1: Treo 650
$40.00 PCS Free & Clear Plan
$10 PCS Vision Pictures Pack
Minutes Are Shared On This Plan
All Minutes Include Long Distance
500 Anytime Minutes
Unlimited Night and Weekend Minutes
Nights: M-Th 9PM-7AM Wknd: F 9PM-M 7AM
Caller ID, Call-waiting
Three-way Calling
Voicemail
Additional Anytime Minutes $.40 Per Min

Phone 2: Some Sanyo flip-phone (my wife's)
$20 add-a-phone

My monthly bill, after taxes and charges, and minus my current 5% discount, is $76.51. Supposedly my new corporate discount goes into effect next month, but it won't be a large change.

What I seek is to move my Night and Weekend Minutes up to 8pm (though you said 7pm was easier to get). I would like to do this for no extra charge. If it is possible, how do I go about requesting it? Thanks for the help.

The FIMF is not necessary, but if there were a way to get it thrown in, I would, of course, accept it.

EDIT - added total MRR information.

your paying too much for not enough minutes! You should be able to get for that same cost 750 or 1000AT minutes and 7pm nights. I would email eCare about it as they have a $40/750 plan and a $50/1000 plan. Lastly, you should not pay $20 for an AAP! No other carrier charges $20 for an AAP, all are $10 or less.

When darique comes on, perhaps she can help you directly. If not, you may need to speak to business retentions. As you are now on a business account, business retentions should be able to work a better plan for you. I assume that they renewed your agreement to place the discount on your account (standard practice) so you should go about getting the best plan you can have!

Phone 5:

Night & Weekend Minutes @ 7pm
Sprint PCS Vision Pictures Pack

I'd like to upgrade three of the phones; I qualify for the $150 rebate on 4 of the phones as of 1/20/06. I'd like to eliminate the $20 AAP on the 3 lines and get N&W effective 6pm. I've called and written to Cust.Service and Retention, and the best they can offer me is 1500 Fair & Flexible minutes, $10 AAP, free N&W at 6pm, free roaming, 20% discount (5% increase), BUT.....Vision services are extra, roughly $15 on Phone 1, $10 on each add'l phone for mid-level vision package. Also, Vision would not include text messages. The plan their offering me gives me less minutes and costs about $15 more than what I'm paying!

I'm happy with my current plan and would simply like to get 6pm N&W and eliminate the $20 AAP. Is this possible? I've been a Sprint customer since 1999 and have convinced at least a dozen family members to sign up with Sprint.

I'd be grateful for any thoughts and/or advice.

Ok here is a question. I have a F/F plan 800, shared between 3 phones. The first phone has regular vision $10 and unlimited text $5, the second phone has unlimited text $2.50 and possibly grandfathered vision (from way back) free. What I want to know is can I drop the first phones vision (the $10 one) with out affecting the text messaging? Will I have to pay for kilobyte usage to use the text messaging?

Here goes! App your $20 AAP's should be $10/month each. If you keep your 7pm nights they should be able to make it free for you (another $5 savings) or do you NEED 6pm nights?

I would NOT get rid of this plan, its one of the best sprint offered ($85/2000 with a free AAP and free vision on 2 lines)

The drop in AAP charges would save you $30/month plus the free 7pm nights another $5. Add taxes and it would be conservative to say these changes alone would save you $40/month.

Anything else you would like?

On a SERO plan it is doubtful they will give you UL text messaging for free. The best I can imagine you doing is getting it discounted somewhat! Best option I have heard of is customers having it offered for $10/month as opposed to $15. They are already throwing in $15 worth of power vision on plans starting at only $30 and a ton more minutes than you would get on a $30 fair and flex plan!

I can answer 1/2 of it for sure!

Your phone only uses "vision" for text messages if the phone uses "shortmail" as opposed to true SMS messaging. If you have a SMS phone then you will not be charged anything per kb to use text messaging.

If you were allowed to add "just" text messaging to the AAP for $2.50, it must not require vision associated with it. If that is the case you should be able to drop the vision and just keep the text messaging charge!

OK maybe I should have clarified what type of phone Im talking about with the $5 text messaging. The phone that has the $5 text and the $10 vision is an 8200. That is the phone I want to drop the $10 vision on. The other phone which has the possible free "grandfathered" vision, which is never used is a VI- 125, I think I was offered the $2.50 unlimited text plan because I had the first phone with the $5 text plan ( half off the second phone I guess). So the question is, if I drop the $10 vision on the first phone, which is never used, will something happen to the $5 unlimited text plan, such as will the price go up or will I pay for kilobyte usage. A lot of texts are made from that phone. Thanks.

I'd be thrilled to reduce the AAP to $10 and eliminate the $5 for 7pm N&W. 6pm would be nice, but not necessary. The only other thing I'd like is for phone #2 to have vision added. It's a very old phone, and I was going to replace it with a new phone. Also, with my old vision on phone #1, would I be able to use a pda phone or power vision phone? We plan to replace all the phones at the end of 2 years (next week).

the vision package you have includes 100text. and is only $5 to 'bump up' to unl. if vision is removed, unl. text is $10 minimum $15 maximum
it will not cost per kb to text on that type of phone

I dont believe the vision pack I have has 100 free texts. I which case could I drop the $5 unlimited texts and keep the 2.50 ( half off) unl. texts on the second phone?. Or basically what you're saying is if I dropped the $10 vision I have, it would automatically bump the $5 texts to $10. I'm wondering if I can call and get free vision on that phone too.

Darque and Niklaus:

I have been with Sprint for 3 years and been out of my current contract for about a year. I would be interested in re-signing so I can get a Sanyo 9000 w/ Power Vision. I have a friend who got the following plan that I would also be interested in:

1000 AT w/ Unl. N&W minutes for $34.99
Free Unlimited PCS2PCS
Free N&W @ 6PM
Free 500 SMS
Power Vision Ultimate pack for $20 instead of $25 (is this possible)? If not just the Ultra pack.
10% loyalty discount

Obviously I would also like the $150 rebate for the Sanyo 9000. I also need to change my phone number from a 940 area code to 214. Is this possible, and would you be able to help me with this or do I need to call *2? Any help or suggestions you could give would be greatly appreciated. Look forward to hearing from anyone who can help.

I also posted this in the other topic about this, hope you don't mind. My contract expires in a couple of weeks. I will be eligible for the $150 upgrade rebate. I called CS a couple of times just to test the waters and each one told me something different.

Check my signature for my plan now (which is a retention plan that I got in Sept w/o signing a new contract). I - under no circumstances - would want to change this plan. But I would like to add some things (listed in order of importance).

Firstly I would like to switch my phone to the A900. It's listed at $350 - $150 instant credit = $200. Reps, can I use my $150 upgrade rebate for this and get the phone for $50? One CS rep said I could, the other denied it.

Secondly, I would like to have AAP... either for $10, I may even do $20. I'd like to use my current phone and just add another person on my minutes. But they keep telling me since I am on a retention plan I cannot AAP. I know that may not be completely accurate since people on here have gotten it. How would I go about getting it?

Third, I would like 7PM N&W with a 5-10% loyalty discount. Obviously signing another 2-yr contract.

Any help is appreciated.

It is my understanding that the instant credit is only if you are activating a new phone line.

Activating a new line, or using your upgrade rebate... Either way you only get one $150 rebate.

Also, I don't think they will add the 5-10% loyalty discount on top of your 23% business discount.

There HAVE been SOME people able to get it free or $5 a month.

Here is the e-mail I am sending to eCare through the Contact Us link on Sprint's website... I will let you know when I get a response:

Hi. I am looking to upgrade my contract to get a new phone, can you help me with this?

I would like to switch to the $34.99 400 Fair and Flexible plan. I would like to keep my free Sprint2Sprint minutes. I have a friend who received these options as well, could you make this happen:
Free N&W @ 6PM
Free Unlimited OR 500 SMS
Is there a way to include Power Vision Ultimate pack for $20 instead of $25 (I think calling a vision pack the "Ultimate without including a single SMS message is disingenuous). If you could include Unlimited OR 500 SMS for free with the Ultimate pack I would gladly pay full price for the Power Vision option.
Also, could you apply the 10% loyalty discount as I have been with your company for three years, and the last year has been off of contract. And as you will see I've had the same handset for over three years, and haven't used a single handset upgrade rebate (I paid full price for this phone when I got it, over $400).

Additionally I would like to order the Sanyo MM-9000 with my upgrade rebate, and I need to change my phone number from a 940 area code to a 214 area code. Can you help me with this?

I want to say thank you in advance for all your help!

When I sent my message to eCare through the Sprint website, it did not give me any confirmation the message was sent. In fact, it popped me back out to the Sprint.com main page and logged me out. Is this normal? Should I be worried that my message didn't go through?

power vision:

1st line (primary)
$25 ultimate
$20 ultra
$15 evdoacc

2nd line (shared plan)
$12.5
$10
$7.5

therefore; obviously, if you have powervision phone put it on the sub line :tu:

there are other codes for business free and clear plans above 99.99 a month that are $0

If sprint.com sent you back to the main page, you timed out on the site and the message was most likely NOT sent. Confirmation emails are generally with a half hour so I'd just send it again!

If you take too long composing the email you get timed out. For long emails I generally compose elsewhere and copy / paste into the site's form.

Hi,

I have a personal acct, but have the vision professional pack with business connect personal edition.

It used to be $15/month but when i moved to a different state it got changed to $30/month without informing me.

I've spent hours on the phone with reps who really tried to help, but in the end their software would not let me get business connect any other way.

So, is there any way i can get business connect for less then $30/month?

I need it since my work email is locked shut otherwise.

Okay, I just received a new e-mail from eCare. Looks like they are going to offer me a plan which I will be happy to accept, as soon as a call the Sprint store and make sure they have a 9000 available for me!

$34.99 400 F&F

$10 Unlimited SMS
10% loyalty

I guess I will be pretty happy with it. What do you guys think??

Hi, I have a retention free and clear plan for $100.00, do you think that i'll possibly be able to get: vision w/pictues, 100 or ulim.text messaging, ready link or video mail for $0.00 added to my account.

:wavey:

I can help you change your plan, find out if you can get a discount. Answer almost any question.

Sorry I have not completely figured out all the acronyms on this site.

I have been a loyal Sprint customer since '99 and have not abused retention but would like to know what I can reasonably expect from retention.
Sprints website says both of my phones qualify for upgrade rebates.

Current retention plan completes 01/20/06
750 nationwide shared ATM - $40
shared unlimited N&W at 7pm - $5
AAP - $20
Unlimited PCS to PCS - $0
free nationwide long distance
Total $65 before taxes

I am currently using about 575 ATM

Would like to have on my two lines
600+ nationwide shared ATM
unlimited shared N&W at 7pm
unlimited PCS to PCS
free nationwide long distance
free roaming in U.S.
FIMF
interested in Vision (Access Pack at minimum)
and two new phones for cheap, not sure which (maybe A900, A920)

I really don't want to spend more than I currently do b/c my wife is quitting her job since we are expecting a baby soon.

what kind of discounts do they offer? ANY credit union? loyalty? etc.?

What is this 10% Sprint Loyalty discount? I've been a sprint customer since 1999 and never heard of it.

I just upgraded to the A900, and am wondering if I can do better than my current plan.

$45.00 PCS Free & Clear Plan
Minutes Are Shared On This Plan
All Minutes Include Long Distance
500 Anytime Minutes
Unlimited Night and Weekend Minutes
Nights: M-Th 9PM-7AM Wknd: F 9PM-M 7AM
Unlimited PCS to PCS Calling
$15.00 Sprint Power VisionSM Access Pack

Any chance I can do better? 500 minutes is about right for me. I rarely hit it most months total, but occasionaly I do. Not sure I need the $15 Power Vision Plan, but I may keep it if I can get a generaly good deal on everything else, or upgrade to the next level.

The other question, I was told by the sprint rep who sold me the phone that the Power Vision pack included use as a modem. Is that right?

Thanks in advance :)

I do have a corperate (Listed as nation wide volume) discount, but I don't think that should be a problem.

I just wanted to address this portion, I'll let darque get the rest.

best advice is to get the discounts first, then the loyalty, then the credit union. Then the system can 'mess up' and let u have them all.
If you go the reverse order, u can only have the credit union.

Wouldn't I have to pay for PCS to PCS then? Or is that free?

I just managed to get them to include 6 PM nights free on my account by e-mailing them.

The discount is through JP Morgan Chase employee plan.

How are the discounts different from loyalty?

loyalty is a plan code attached to a subscription
discounts from the employer are hierarchial discounts
:tu: good question

pcs2pcs for free is not too difficult with a business acct.
6pm free is a good option.
loyalty may not attach with 6pm on the acct. try it

I tried calling *2 again to see if they'd go for what you quoted above. After being transferred 4 times, they held to the offer I previously mentioned (less minutes and changing my plan to fair & flexible minutes). How do I go about convincing them to make the above changes? Also, do you think it would be possible to get a 10% loyalty discount in addition to my gov't discount? The rep told me that you could only get one or the other; they are not cumulative.

If you already have a discount applied, it's very very very unlikely that you'll get the rep to tack on another 10% discount. Either way, always always always be nice to the rep no matter what and if you don't get anywhere, seek out the advice of your fellow users and cool contacts as Niklaus and try back another time.

I spoke with retention last Thursday about getting a better plan for me and my parents we are all off contract and have not switched phones in over 3 years (my phone is the Samsung SCH-8500) currently I have:
$30 300+180 bonus FIMF $0, PCSPCS $0, 9PM Nights/W
Parents:
$65 ($45 + 20 AAPH) includes 2 lines, 500 minutes PCSPCS, 9PM Nights/W
FYI I have great credit, with Sprint 6 years, my account says eligible for 10 lines

dand411 had suggested trying for $50/1000 min, keep my FIMF, 180 bonus and PCSPCS $0
Ask for 7pm N/W $0, 5-10% loyalty and try for $10 Powervision
also try for service credit and/or waive activation fees.

The agent had no idea of the $50/1000 or $60/1200 retention offers but offered me the following:

$65/1100 minutes, FIMF, PCSPCS, 7pm N/W all $0
$8 * 2 add a phones = $16
PowerVision Basic $15 (ie regular price) no discounts on other PV/SMS stuff

Gave me a 20% discount on all lines which = $96 - 20% = $76.80

Also get 3 A920's for $49 each and waived all upgrade/activation fees.

The real problem happened today called today to sign-up/see if I could get the plans dand411 had suggested and also verify all above was notated in the notes on my account in case ran into a billing problem in future. Got transferred to rentention and talked to a total doofus:

Who offered me $80/800 FF plan 9pm no initial suggestion of discount. I told him how terrible that suggestion was and given it did not seem he was going to be any help asked him to review the notes on my account.

He did and everything was documented as discussed with the original rep but he made an excuse that coincidently the day I was offered this Jan 12th the code for 20% off ended and only the 15% remained. He also said the codes for $0 AAPH ended also (I had not been offered those). He also claimed that the only loyalty discount was 5% and could not be applied to the $50/1000 plan since it was a retention plan which did not seem to make any sense?

Anyway does anyone who works for Sprint or is very familar with recent changes know if what he said was true? Shouldn't Sprint find some way of honoring their offer made 4 days ago when I was told I could call back sometime in the future and get the offer?

I asked to talk to a supervisor since it is irresponsible of Sprint to make an excuse when the offer was made and fully documented. He tried to convince me not too, then put me on hold, his boss was on the phone, hold again, then transferred me when his boss was off the phone - got his voicemail, left message. Still no call back!!!!

The package has enough minutes for us and wondering if there is something I can ask for and logically get to make up for the drop in discount I was promised? eg Powervision discount $10?, picturemail free, or maybe 100 SMS free?

Can I do any better? Does this 15 or 20% remove the possibility of a CU discount or loyalty?

Probably would prefer something that actually could lower my bill a few $$$ to what I was promised rather than another free feature I might not use at all.

Thanks in advance, probably still decent given the deal on the phones and activation but pissed at the bait and switch,

Bob

I got my CU discount applied today. After he did that for me, I asked about my loyalty discount and he told me that I would lose it. It was either the CU discount or the loyalty. 10% is better than 5% but still. Why would I lose something that I already had?

I've got F&F family plan
$69.99
$10.00 AAP
$5.00 100 text 1st phone
$5.00 100 text 2nd phone
$8.00 500 text 3rd phone

N&W at 7pm (free)
23 % bussiness disc.

3 1/2 years

was wondering about a loyalty disc.

The general rule is they do not add loyalty on top of a business discount. The ONLY depts I know of to have done that are "retentions" and "eCare"

Hey Darque -

Would you or someone with Sprint account access be able to let me know if what I believe to exist on my plan truly exists, if I gave you my account number? I ask this because Ecare has recently been so kind as to add free unlimited text messaging to my account - but they told me it won't appear online, as it's a special code. As well, I show as only having 100 text messages, so I know I will surpass them soon. Lastly, the Ecare rep told me that they would remove my $5/ 100 text messages plan as I now had free unlimited, but this is still showing up online as well, and this dates back to 01/04/06, my last billing period.

If everything is as mentioned, I have no problem with it only being visible on the "back end", but I don't want to have to call and argue on the phone when my next bill comes around. Luckily it's all via email, so I have it all on file. Please advise. Thanks!

Let me hop in and say that if you want "freebies" you basically have 2 options for getting them and they are online with eCare or on the phone with retentions. If you get NO discount you will probably be offered a loyalty discount. I have "free roaming" on a "free and clear" type plan and it took me speaking to a retention rep at that time to have it added. It would be billed at $5 with a "hidden" $5 monthly credit to make it free to you.

If you have any questions, you can PM me. :tu:

well I did try last time for a monthy discount and they said the code was not availble in my area, they gave me a one time lump sum credit of $250 saying that was equal to a year of %10 discount. I still want the roaming option for free :tu:

Are you in a corporate market or an affiliate one? In the corporate market you should have the $5 for unlimited roaming option available and it CAN be credited back the same way free 7pm nights is credited back. In my situation I had to speak to a retention rep to have it applied at no cost as the main reps said no code existed so it may be a retention only code!

Do you get a business discount of any sort? If you dont and are or become a member of a credit union you get a 10% monthly discount on most of your charges. Plus the pleasure of business CS :)

power vision plus for 20.00
international calls for 4.00

Each time you renew your contract, you should call *2 and ask them for a deal. Sprint stores know nothing. This way, every 2 years you can get an extra deal/discount. This is how I got $5 off my $30.00 free and clear plan, and free PCS-PCS calling.

Asking for a better deal too many times will find you getting unfriendly people after a while.

a $25 rate plan like you have is a great grab, but it will not happen for many customers now! Sprint wants everyone on a $35 plan or higher to make a decent profit.

Currently i have an old phone on a $30 plan with 300 anytime, free N/W at 8, and PCS to PCS. my contract has been up for a few months
i want to sign up for the SERO plan... do you think they would be able to give me that plan without having to add a new line-- because im an exhisting customer...
i would also like to know if its possible for me to keep my free n/w at 8 and pcs to pcs.
im also interested in getting the samsung a920... i found a deal on a site where its free after rebate... can i get a Price match as well? OR will i be eligible for the $150 rebate?

I was wondering what it would take to get my night minutes moved back up to 8pm. When I switched from a single line plan to a two-phone plan (to add my wife on), then I lost my 8pm night minutes and moved to 9pm. I don't know that I need 6pm or 7pm, but I did enjoy having the 8pm included with my plan.

Any suggestions?

Any rate plan can get 6pm nights, right? old retention plans.......... free and clear plans........... whatever plan you have. I've heard of people being told it can not be "combined" with a current plan they have and would need to switch plans but eCare has always been able to add it. Getting it for free is a totally different story!

Nope, didn't backdate it at all... in fact, she future-dated it to correspond with my next billing cycle. Went I went to the Sprint store to buy the phone, the rep was jealous and wondered how I got it for free (I didn't tell her about it, she saw it when she looked up my account). Me and my girlfriend just got a family plan together with the a-840's
the plan is the fair and flex plan for families
69.99 800 minutes shared free nights and weekends
we are paying 5 dollars extra for nights free starting at 7
we have the vision pack

i just want to know if i can get a better deal and free nights starting at 6 and unlimited text messaging instead of paying $5.. also how can i get the loyalty discount..
my girlfriend also is an employee at the gap, can she get a discount for working there?

thanks whoever can help.. im a noobie here

the plan can only be modified by retetions if you are considering switiching to another carrier. that plan is actually the most popular family plan we offer. a loyalty discount is typically added on BEFORE you sign up for another 2 year agrmnt but can be added to cust service (its a 5% disc a month)...not sure if gap gets a discount but to find out call business cust service

Hello Niklaus & Darque,

I have the free incoming call plan which should have free RL included. (I had no idea it was included on this until I found out on the boards here because I was told it wasn't included when I changed to it months ago) I had this plan prior to getting a PV phone, I might add. I called CS and after holding forever they told me they could not give me the RL because of the GF Vision. Then the guy thanks me for being a long time customer and tried to demand I go with a PV plan. I said no thank you and that my brother has not had any issues keeping his plan and I plan on keeping mine the way it is. He thanked me again and stated he would leave my account as it was but he could not get the RL to work without PV. :td:

Can either of you help with the RL issue?

As of now we dont know about the new Treo. It hasnt been stated if/when were getting the 700 >.<. For the Sero plans those are activated through wirefly and you would also need the email addy of a sprint employee. I belive they may start letting store apply the plans

My current plan as of october:

1000 AT
UNL NW
8PM nights
FIMF
Free Vision w/ 100 SMS texts free
and Free Picture Mail
$40/ month

I have the Samsung A600 which does not have SMS capability.

Q#1
My question is that on my account detail page on the sprint site, it says I have 100 wireless web messages. Wireless web messages are unlimited from what ive read. Does this actually mean SMS texts? so that when I upgrade to the A900, I will have 100 SMS texts free?

Q#2
I was charged for Picture Mail in my last bill. I think the vision plan I have is the grandfathered vision. Doesn't this come with free Picture mail?

Thanks for any input

As i just learned in the last day.... you wont be charged for basic datat usage but there are some area of evdo that vision plans do not cover. like i belive music store is one of them.. what I would do is just kinda watch what you do and check evert other day for additional charges

Darque,

Ok, I am very new to this cell arena. I was an add phone on my cousins F&F plan. But I would like to get off her account and start up my own. So I have no existing account history with Sprint. Is Psint likely to offer me any discount to stay with them? Should I call Customer Service or go to a store? I used my Samsung A840 for just simple out and around calling - nothing fancy. I don't really need the camera. So what I am looking for is just a lowcost plan, minimum like Fair & Flexible 400 (long distance & roaming) with 7pm calling and Sprint to Sprint. How should I proceed and what should I expect? Since I already have a phone worth a $50 rebate and with 2 year agreement $150 promotion can I work those rebates to get the best deal?

Lemme take a stab at it and when Darque comes on she can confirm.

If your an AAP on your cousins plan and still under contract on that plan you basically have 2 options.

Option 1: Do a "transfer of liability" to move that line over to your name. You keep that phone and pick from whatever plan you see advertised that you like and go on your own. Sprint runs a credit check to see of they want a deposit or not but many people qualify for one line with NO deposit.

Option 2: Open your own account so you can get a cool phone. If your cousin has no need for that line any longer it will either continue to cost someone $10/month pr the ETF of $150. I dont suggest that route!

Sprint will not offer you much of a discount (other than those you qualify for from business discounts) as you are a "new" customer to sprint and just accepting a contract in your own name as opposed to your cousin being liable. You might get a rep to give you free mobile 2 mobile and possibly free 7pm nights but thats about it.

If your doing the "transfer of liability" route, both you and your cousin have to goto the sprint store with ID for your credit to be run and your cousin to say that you are authorized to take that line to its own account.

Any other questions? Feel free to reply!

Just call *2 and when Claire asks you what you want tell her, "I need business."

Then just tell the rep that you're in the military and he should be able to apply the discount.

Well when is your contract up? Try getting a SERO plan. That would eliminate the vision charges, and then maybe they can give u the 7pm free. Dont forget, that plan includes the mobile to mobile. The 500 minute plan is $30 per month. Good luck.

If you haven't upgraded your phone (using a rebate or buying a phone full price) in the last 24 months, you should be able to qualify for the $150 rebate... you will just have to re-sign a new 2-year contract.

I bought a Samsung A920 on Dec 30th. I also have a PowerVision plan with the phone. Ever since I got it it has not worked fully. I have spent well over 7 hours on the phone with Sprint CSR's troubleshooting or being on hold. They have tried the same things over and over again and of course it has not fixed the problem.

Originally I could not make a connection with the internet at all. That finally got solved but I still can't use Media Player. If I goto Media Player and then Channel Listing I just get an "Attention" error box but the box does not have anything written in it.

During the process of getting this fixed I have had my phone be completly unusable even to make and recieve calls for long periods of time because they were trying to reset my account or something. On New Years day I was traveling and decided to call while I was driving to try and get it fixed. I made sure that they knew I needed my phone and not to try anything that would make it unusable. A couple hours later my phone was out of commission all day and all new years eve. Not exactly a convenient day for it to be unusable.

I have even tried getting a new phone just in case it is hardware related since they have tried everything they know of software related.

I also have been very polite and never rude to any of the CSR's since it is not their fault.

1) How can I get this solved without talking to a bunch of people who don't really know how to solve it and they make me take the batter out and leave it out for 5mins to fix it even though I already told them I've done that numerous other times. I don't have a ton of time to sit on the phone with them.

2)They have only offered to refund me my powervision fee for 2 months and they think they are doing me a favor....refunding me for something they aren't giving me is not doing me a favor. I shouldn't have to pay for powervision if I'm not getting it. How can I get some compensation for all the trouble and inconvenience I've had to put up with?

Thanks for your help

Umm have you ever bought a new car? .....If the car 's waterpump goes out and it is three days untill you can use it the bank that has your loan is not going to refund you.It is the same with all Services ALL cellular companies are like that. It's not only cellelar companies. Dont becallign your local phone company, cable company so on and so forth askign for credit or things like that it really dose reflect back on those who do it. And stuff like that dose ruin your credit with the company. All companies look at people who constinaly call for credit as a liability. Keep that in mind. THEY do not need to give you any sort of compinsation. It sounds like we are trying to get it fixed. Second do you have TEP on your plan? Because if you do you can go to your local sprint store with a tech in it and they can get it fixed. If you do not have TEP then you need to contact Samsung in regaruds to the manufacturs 1 year warranty as Spint no longer dose manufactuers warranty. Yes complaine all you would like about it, but it simply comes down to this that sprint did not make the phone we sell them and sprint is NOT the only company to no longer handle manufatuers warranties. Those warranties cost Cell companies millions of dollers ever year. That is why TEP and ESRP are offered. Dont think I'm trying to be rude or anything along those lines, I'm just putting an end to a loooong drawn out battle now befor a rep just takes pitty on you and ordered a replacement phoen that you would be paying for anyways. Customer care can no longer oder warranty exchanges on "Care Advance Exchanges" Witch you the custoemr pay for. They are refurbished phones but you do not pay full price for them. So In short instead of calling care at this point go to a store and have your phone tested and then as long as you have the TEP and if they can not fix it they will replace you phone. Stop calling care to do something they can not do we are limited to what we can do since we dont have all the tools stores do.

You may want to call sprint and see about getting that line on its own plan now and see about any perks they will offer you before the transfer. This option may get you a couple of "goodies" added in free that would carry over to the new account.

tech support for vision related issues:

1-866-273-2163. Do NOT call from the phone with the problem. It may be a problem in how your phone was provisioned so call them and see!

If your vision doesnt work, they will credit the costs back. They can see if you have been able to use it or not! If you have had one month of an "outage" dont expect more than a one months credit. :indiff:

I've already gone to the store twice to have the 'tech' try and fix it. One time I left it there for 6 hours. Still nothing.

A replacement would not do anything since I have already gotten one and I still have the same problems. It does not appear to be a problem with the phone but a problem with Sprint.

Buying a car cannot be compared to buying a service. If I bought Comcast Cable with Premium channels that would be a fair comparison. Let's say my Premium channels don't work for some reason so I call Comcast. They try to fix it and then all of a sudden I don't get any Cable at all on certain days for long periods of time. Do you think I should still be paying Comcast for Cable service when I wasn't even getting it? not to mention the Premium channels didn't work.

As I said I've spent hours (over 7) actually on the phone with tech support trying to fix it. Like I said, I'm not mad at Sprint for not fixing it, they are obviously trying. However they are failing and causing me a lot of trouble. I don't pay for trouble, I pay for service.

Although I agree always asking for free stuff and fighting with companies may hurt your credit. I doubt asking for compensation when it's due will harm you.

Hi, maybe you can answer this question for me...

I called Sprint about a week ago and got my plan switched the SERO plan. It just took effect today (start of new billing) and everything seems to be there. Here is where my problem comes in. I talked to CS recently and asked what my "Unlimited Vision" had on it, since Sprint has three or so plans normally. She said it was only regular vision, not Power Vision, or any other features.

At the SERO website, it says right on there that the Vision package is Power Vision capable, as well as having unlimited Video and Picture mail, and other stuff. So I called again, this time the CS said that it did work with power vision, but still did not have Picture Mail, etc, despite the SERO site saying it should.

So I cannot get a straight answer, and nothing so far has really been a straight answer.

If you know what my SERO plan should have, or if you can look it up and need my PCS number or something, please let me know.

Also, do you know if its possible to have 7PM N/W added to my account? I push my 500 minutes and sometimes go over, and I think this would help cover it, but dont know what I can do or if it will affect the SERO.

Thanks for your help!

Simple way that will likely give you an answer as to if you have picture/video included... try uploading a picture/video. It will prompt you to sign up for picture/video since it's an added fee if you don't already have it. That's how I found out I lost my picture pack with vision when I renewed my plan. *cry*

Retentions and eCare gives "discounts" and most other reps give one time "credits" for a reason. These are the wrong reps to ask for discounts from!

Other than a break on the 6pm nights or some of the vision charges...... its unlikely! how many "free" minutes do you use between 6pm and 7pm? You can easily get 7pm for free if your not using that many minutes........

I emailed the customer service and they gave me n/w @ 6 for free.. hey a $10 break a month is good enough :) i basically uped my minutes by 500 and ended up paying maybe $5 more YAY!!

First of all, The SLC Crew rocks! :tu:

My plan (listed in my signature) is F&F Family, but is a little bit older and thus does not have roaming included. I would like to get the roaming included, but right now it is a $5/month option for me. I am wary about changing my actual plan, because I have read many posts stating that lots of things changed when switching plans. Here are my questions/concerns:

1) What is included with my current plan vs just being added on as a freebie/bonus/retention?
2) Is it better for me to add-on at $5/mo or get a new plan?

The 2nd question is not quite so easy because changing my plan involves changing my monthly minutes. 2400 minutes is no longer offered, but is right around where I need to be. I rarely go over, however, and would consider dropping minutes (knowing that the flexibility is still there and won't cost me an arm and a leg like it used to). I don't want to end up paying for things that I am getting free (as part of a package) so that I can save money and end up with the same bill but less minutes.

I can PM if necessary. Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm also a new SERO (and Sprint) subscriber. I emailed eCare asking for free FIMF and free 6 pm N&W. Here's the way it went:

Thank you for contacting Sprint together with Nextel about the FIMF and 6:00 PM option for free. I will be happy to assist you. I am sorry to inform you that we do not offer FIMF. Also, we do not offer the 6:00 PM option for free (even with the two-year agreement). The monthly recurring charge for the 6:00 PM option is $10.00. I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you. I know that this reply will cause inconvenience to you but this is an honest answer from my side, as I do not wish to mislead you by making any false promises. I appreciate you emailing us today. Thanks. Leslie S. Business E-Care Sprint together with Nextel "Where our customers come first!"

Dear E-care: I recently became a new Sprint subscriber. I love my A900! One feature I really miss since porting over from T-mobile is the first incoming minute free (FIMF) feature. Is there any way that feature could be added w/o charge to my plan? I was also told that the 6 P.M. N&W feature could be added for free with a new 2-yr. renewal. If this is correct, please advise. I appreciate your assistance in this matter.

My question is this: Is there any merit in trying again w/another eCare request for the same add-ons? Or do they log your requests (guessing they do)? I figure because I'm a new customer my chances are slim that they'll be willing to add anything else to my already gr8 SERO 500 plan.

Any feedback would be gr8ly appreci8ed! :)

To qualify for "perks" sprint looks at many factors. Since SERO plans are VERY cheap and have all been started recently it is doubtful that you will find a rep willing to add free 6pm nights or FIMF.

Oh, welcome to sprintusers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, let me clarify - you've already got a great plan, dude... one that most of us are jealous over. Just check Sprint out for a couple years, paying less for great service. Then if you like it after two years, and they like you after two years (read: pay your bills on time), when it's time to re-negotiate your contract you will have a lot of leeway there. But a rep who sees you've only been a Sprint customer for a few months at most, and who already has a great plan isn't as likely to be willing to offer up the goods that it takes most people a few years to get, if ever.

You might try e-mailing them back to ask for N&W @ 7PM... that's a more popular option that is usually given free for most people for just re-signing a two-year contract. But that's probably the most I would expect to get given your status.

I used to really like Sprint but lately I've had to call each month to argue over charges I shouldn't have because CSR's keep telling me they are giving me "courtesy minutes" and then charging me for them. I don't want to attack all CSR's because I'm sure many are on the up and up but sometimes I wonder if Sprint is trying to add extras to peoples bills in hopes that they won't notice.

My plan currently consists of:

Adjustable Anytime Minutes
$35 Minimum Monthly Charge
Nationwide Long Distance Included
Unlimited Night & Weekend Mins. Included
Caller ID, Call Waiting
Three-way Calling
Free Mobile 2 Mobile.

However, I continue to be either A. told I have minutes to spare or charged for minutes I don't use.

My question is: Is there a better plan and is there any way to get it without having to take another two years of contract. I don't want to be stuck with Sprint that long. Or... I was told I could somehow get free nights at 7pm, how can I get that? I just need some sort of hope that Sprint really does care and isn't out to get us cuz even though I still stand by them, my loyalty is starting to fade away.

Ok. I think this is the thread I've been looking for!

Anyways, we have had the same plan from 2001 to basically now. It was simple, 2000 minutes shared on 3 phones with picture pack vision...

Last week I upgraded to a A900, and the sprint rep there said all I have to do is resign my current contract (he didn't mention any changes) and I'll get the discount for the blade. Now I'm paying for the Fair and Flexable 2000 minutes ($100) and PowerVision ($25) and after everything is done and said the estimated monthly bill is 144.99. That is without text messaging. After calling sprint customer service, I'm told that I have racked up a heft $4 dollar bill for all the texting done so far (in a matter of...6 days!).

So my understanding now is that the other lines that havn't been upgraded don't have regular vision now since the plan only covers powervision (for that one phone too) and that there is no text messaging. These two aspects were never mentioned when the new contract was signed.

Anyways, due to the bugs with the A900, I found this GREAT forum and started browsing the other sections and have started reading about the retention plans and such. I was wondering should I just cancel the renewed contract (i'm still within 14 days) and get a retention plan? Or is there anything to cut some costs on the current plan or to get some of my old features back? thanks.

Retention is not always the best option... as much as I dislike say this, but Ecare would be the better way to go. They have acess to alot of the same codes as retention but if you go through retention they wont always give you what you want.. You could always try both routes. Custoemr care isnt always the bhest way to go since we are limited to what we have/can offer.

How can I get ahold of retentions? I had the Toshiba VM4050 and took it in for them to do a minor repair. Found out that they could order me one but since I am a truck driver they wouldn't ship it to my house.

To make a long story short they told me that they would give me the Sanyo VM4500. When I got to my house there was no Toshiba and that I was stuck with this peice of crap. If it wasn't that I need this phone for my job I'd never taken the Sanyo. Then to top it all off I found out when I went in to buy a new phone I'd lost the $150 credit that had been on my account for having my phone for two years.

I'm really tempted to see what another server has to offer me. Hope you can help and thanks in advance for letting me rant.

Greetings sir,
Not sure if this is the way you wanna be contacted regarding accounts with business discounts on them. I'm always refered to business accounts b/c I have a corporate discount from the railroad I work for. Any way, I have account from 2004 :

2000 minutes (shared)
3 lines (1 main and 2 extras)

Main line 1 has unlimited "web messages" and picture mail package. I have unlimited web messages b/c I have a treo 300 before Sprint came out with SMS messaging that was already on my phone. These unlimited web messages were "converted" to unlimited text messaging so I never had to pay for SMS messaging. I really wanna keep that !!! I read onthe Sprint webpage that I can get one of my extra lines free and the other for 10 bucks...that's fine. But I want to change plans to the 69.99 plan...Flexible plan. but all the discounts that I have plus free SMS messaging I wanna keep...Can you help?

Now, I recently got laid off and am still withen the 3 month grace period to switch plans without a new contract. I may need to go stay with someone in an area that does not have a Sprint tower if things don't get better so I need Roaming included.

I want to go to the $29.99/mo Fair and Flex which I have the option at the manage site and drop the Picture Mail (since I won't need it to use the cam if I get a data cable).

Can I get this done?

Picture Mail SM $5.00

Now, I recently got laid off and am still withen the 3 month grace period to switch plans without a new contract. I may need to go stay with someone in an area that does not have a Sprint tower if things don't get better so I need Roaming included.

I want to go to the $29.99/mo Fair and Flex which I have the option at the manage site and drop the Picture Mail (since I won't need it to use the cam if I get a data cable).

Can I get this done?
Will I get the free roaming?

Summery of what I want:
$29.99 Fair and Flex with Free Roaming
$10.00 Vision

Also, is there a fee to change your phone number?

no fee to change the phone number. that 29.99 plan is 200 min. most areas have it as "roaming included" yes you can get it done

and I wanted to add: I was just reading your post in the other thread. srry we took long.

Sent you my zip in a PM so you can check on the roaming included for my area. Is there any SERO you can get me? Either cheaper or same price with more features. Not more than the $29.95 + $10.00 a month. "Trying" to keep the bill under $50/mo total with taxes.

I can help you change your plan, find out if you can get a discount. Answer almost any question.

Hi,
Heres' what I have for $30 monthly - 25% corporate discount:
450 AT
FIMF
N/W @ 7
Vision for an extra $10/ monthly

Can I add some minutes, keep FIMF, add free roaming and bring N/W to 6PM by asking for a SERO plan? I'd want to keep my rate the same or lower.

Any advice would be appreciated. :fingers:

I'll answer for Darque. If you switch to the $30 SERO plan:

Can you add minutes? Yes an extra 50.
Keep FIMF? Yes
Add free roaming? Yes, it's included in SERO
Bring 6PM? Possible, but if you have 7PM for free I wouldn't complain.
Vision would now be free so you could put that money into text messaging or 6pm NW.

Now the question is, do you have a Sprint Employee referrer to help you get in the door? It's not 100% needed, but I'd rather have one handy than not. Sorry, I don't have any.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. What's the best way to go about it--customer care or email? And if it's email, any other hints?

There you go. Your odds are better with *2 than eCare. I swear up and down on the power of eCare, but for this I've seen more positive results from CS.

For some reason the links on the FAQ are broken. :indiff:

Hey,

Thanks so much for your offer to help us answer questions.

I talked to a very friendly business service rep today when I switched my plan from fair and flexible to a SERO plan. on the www.spint.com/sero site, it has the mm a900 (blade) for 179.99. i had just bought one yesterday at full price (349) from radio shack. i asked the rep if i could return the phone to radioshack and get a refund and get the 179.99 price from them for a new phone. she told me that it would be fine for me to do that. so i went to radioshack but they said that they could give me the refund but that i'd have to ask sprint to mail me the phone. so i called sprint back but a diff rep told me that i can't get the phone at that price altogether. i'm wishing i had taken down the first rep's name but unfortunately i have no idea. i called at 1:45 pm (2/16) to talk to her and my conversation is recorded with her but i have no idea how to get in touch with her again. i was wondering if you could answer my question about the phone price being legit and also if you would be able to see who i talked to when i first called. thanks so much!! oh and the # for me is 9194234840.

how long have you had service with sprint becaue if you have been a cust for 12 month then you can get the phone for 274 if you have been a cust for 24 months then you can get the blade for 179.99 or if it is a brand new activation or adding a new line. if none of these apply to you then you pay full price for the phone

darque,

i started a new 2 year contract back in may when i purchased the mm 5600. i changed plans this past valentines day after i had my phone stolen because the mm a900 requires a different type of plan. does that clarify why i can't get it? for 179?

Becaue you purchased the mm5600 it reset your rebate time period. once you have had the 5600 for 12 months you can get 75 dollers off a new phone of your choice, and after 24 months you can get 150 off a phone of your choice

My wife works at George Washington University Hospital, so we get that discount as well. (22%?)

OK, now to give you the saga of my upgrade, I will try to keep to the shortest format possible:

2/2 I saw a deal online for a free Samsung A920 with Bluetooth Headset from Wirefly.
2/2 I went to a Sprint Store near me and asked if they could match the deal. I explained to them that I was up for an upgrade, since my current commitment was up last September. They said no, I would have to order that online from that merchant.
2/2 I place the order for the phone that night
2/6 Replied to message from Wirefly about not being able to rollover my phone number, but could ship with new phone number.
2/8 Received the new phone.
2/9 Contacted Sprint Customer Service to assign my old number to this new phone and shutdown my old phone. Told that I had two contracts and that was fraud. They were very nice and said that “We know that was not your intention.” They deactivated the new phone and told me I needed to ship back that phone and upgrade in-store.

2/10 I called around, but all stores seemed to be out of the A920.
2/10 I tried to upgrade via Sprint phone sales, but there was a problem with the credit card system matching my address. Was told to call back Saturday.
2/11 10am I called phone sales again, and the system went down. I was told they would call back.
2/11 about 4pm I called back and told that it would be easier if I went to a store, because the $150 rebate was not instant from phone sales.
2/11 about 6pm I located a store (former Nextel) which had it in stock. I bought the phone and transferred my number. I asked about the different Power Vision add-on packs and choose the $15. I then asked “All my other features stay the same right?” The sales rep told me that I had to select a Power Vision pack, but my plan stayed the same.
2/13 I try to send a picture mail and it doesn’t work. I try to send a text mail and it doesn’t work.. I contact customer service and told that my unlimited picture mail and text messaging went away when I selected a Power Vision plan. We come to the conclusion that it would cost $40 more a month for me to get back the same features. I am told that I have to have a Power Vision plan with the new phone. So I tell them I am willing to select a regular vision phone or even go back to my original phone. I am advised to goto the store and have them backdate the account.
2/18 I goto the store w/o my receipt. I tell him about the loss of features and the $40 extra I would have to pay each month to get the same features I already had. I ask my salesperson to backdate my account to my old vision plan. He unsuccessfully attempts to do so. He re-iterates that he did nothing to change my plan and cannot return the phone with out the reciept. I tell him that I have my receipt at home someplace and if I can backdate my account by returning the phone
2/18 5:10pm I loose my new phone and contact customer service to deactivate my new phone and reactivate my old phone. I contact lockline.about my loss and they initiate the replacement process. I am told that it is not reversable and I will be charged $50 which is not refundable.
2/18 5:20 I find my phone and contact customer service and lockline. I ask to cancel the replacement, they advise me that it is not possible. I offer to split the difference ($25) w/o sending any replacement or canceling my insurance coverage. Told that I will receive a refurbished replacement and I must ship back the phone I found.
2/18 6:00 I call Sprint customer service to re-activate my new phone.

Looking at my receipt I see my salesman wrote-in a $25 restocking fee if I return the phone during the 14 trial period.

How can I get back to my old plan? I would really like to keep the A920, but I am willing to go back to my old Sanyo 8100.(as long as I don’t loose my $150 rebate toward a new phone)

If I return the phone to the store, what kind of problems will I have with Lockline and their stance of me sending that phone back to them?

See my response and my own hell in "Tell me what u want& I can tell u if/how u can get it :)" thread.

Please, please call Sprint ASAP DO NOT talk with a regular customer service person since from what I have read they can only offer you standard plans and services and probably may not help your phone situation either. Try not to be angry and you have the right to be but won't help you, its fine to sound annoyed as you should be. Tell them you have been screwed around and are considering cancelling and need to talk to ACCOUNT SERVICES. Account Services are not all powerful but can do alot of things and I think they should be able to fix your phone screw-up though expect hassles. Some folks say to get back your old 'goodies' they have a day or two. But Account Services can do alot even setting up a new retention plan especially since you are a high $$$$ contract, some folks have said they have extra POWER on plans $100 and up.

From everything I have read and many many calls, getting the PowerVision stuff SMS Picture Mail at a reasonable price is almost impossible. Some folks have had their vision,SMS, PictureMail grandfathered on a PV Phone by buying the phone outright and doing an ESN swap. I would think they could give you your Vision deal if you got a regular Vision phone. I can't really comment on that part since I have mostly been a plain phone user so far and got my PV Phone for its features (Camera, BT, TransCard, MP3 Player).

Even if they can't get your old plan back they have a lot to play with that could give you a different possibly better and cheaper plan, but it MUST be through Account Services. The regular reps can only give you the FF off the rack plans which if you know how much you call a month are pretty crappy for a lot of people. Sprint is willing to work with people but it takes many calls :(

Hope this helps, feel free to PM if you talk to them and want any suggestions on what they offer. Also with your high plan I would definitely try to get them to offer you a lower AAP price and NW 7pm at least.
