I'm going to buy the A900 in a week so before I signed up for a new plan (have the 8100 right now) I wanted to clarify something about Sprint TV. When I spoke with Sprint customer support they said that I'd get some live channel's like the NFL Channel with the $20 Plus package. As I searched threw this forum though people have said the only way to get live channel's is by paying $10 extra for Sprint TV Live. So what's the real story? If I get the $20 package will I get the NFL Channel live? Thanks in advance for any help.

I tried to find a PM I have from someone who gave me all of the Sprint TV Plus channels but I can't find it. However, I do believe you get the NFL Network Live but I can't be sure. I have the Ultimate package and it includes it along with I think 2 other live channels.
The $10 package you saw being referenced is ALL live channels, and a pretty good selection if I may say so myself. With the PV plans, you mostly get clips which aren't all that bad.

Most of the PV plans play rotating clips as well as 2-3 live channels...it varies based on the plan you have...if a rep told you that you get NFL live on the plan you want, it's probably true, as this should be easy info for a rep to look up (as opposed to a plan change or something which they manage to screw up routinely)...the sprint TV live package, which is $9.99 a month (minus my $5 vision credit) is all live channels, probably around 20 of them...this is an add-on though and not part of any PV plan...in my opinion it should be part of sprint TV ultimate, but it's not...

Very good point. Are we sure that it's not? I mean, are we sure that the system is not screwed up where those of us with the Ultimate PV should be getting those 20 live channels and are not?
Because if you are right, that's totally bogus. We should DEFINITELY be getting all those live channels with the $25 pack. If not, I should probably drop down to the $15 PV plan and add Sprint TV for $10. What would I lose in that exchange? Just picture mail?

Yes, we are sure. Nowhere on Sprint does it say you get the Sprint TV Live package, nor does it even allude to that. It's very unfortunate, yes, but I honestly wouldn't have ever expected this from Sprint.

so what live channels do you get with sprint ultimate? i just got the 7500 and paid for the 20 dollar, "Sprint tv plus" deal so i could keep picture mail. i get abc news, NFL net., and fashion tv live. WHat would I gain going to sprint tv ultimate? I like the live channels. Maybe it would be better just to pay the 10 dollars and add sprint tv live

Thank you, so it looks like for 5 dollars more and sprint ultimate i would only be adding one live channel - fox news. Definately better to just buy sprinttv live. Man these guys are gonna make money if others are getting addicted as i am to pv and watching tv anywhere. I sat in a meeting at work today and watched tv with headphones.
Ok so how do I go about getting all of those live channels listed under Sprint TV live. I have that ultimate thing, and so far...not impressed with the channel selection. I wanna watch TLC during work, dammit.

I emailed sprint saying i was unhappy wiht the ultimate pack and they gave me a credit for 1 month to buy the live package. while it is not amazing, it is definitly better then the tv on the ultimate pack. I am changing to the 15 dollar vision and purchasing the live package in the future.

Open your media player, click on channel listing, click on Sprint TV, scroll down to channel 9 and click Buy.

Be careful if you use Picture/Video Mail because neither of those services are included in the $15 package.

Thanks Laursifer. You are a great help here.
So I think I understand. I'm paying the $25 PV ultimate now (which is sooooooooo dumb that we don't get all the live channels.
So if I drop down to the $20 PV plan and add Sprint TV live, I'd get all those extra live channels for only $5 more a month than I pay now, right?
OR, if I drop down to the $15 PV plan and add sprint TV live, I'd be paying the exact same thing I do now, but I'd ONLY lose picture and video mail, correct?
I think that's the deal. Now I just have to decide how much I'm going to use picture and video mail.
Also, I don't have an unlimited text plan (in fact, I have no text plan). Will I get charged the $0.10 every time I send or receive a video or picture mail?
Thanks again Laursifer for all your help.

Picture Mail won't use a text message, but instead will charge for the data it transfers, which can get REALLY pricey. They had screwed this up on my PV plan on my 940--I didn't have Pic Mail on my account (though I should have) but it still let me upload a bunch of 2MP pics. Took about $60 in data charges. The way around it would be to just pull your pics off your phone with the data cable, and use your email address (Gmail, Yahoo, something like that) to email it to someone's phone. Wouldn't cost ya a penny but I don't believe you can send video mail like that.

Once again, great info and thanks.
So if I have picture mail, all of that is free, but if I don't have picture mail, I can still send pictures and video but it's going to cost a lot to do it, even if I have unlimited vision?
Is that what your saying? If so, I think I understand the whole "picture" and then I can make a decision on what I'm going to do.
Thanks again.

LOL, you got it! It is a little confusing. I had to re-read what I was typing a few times because it doesn't really make all that much sense. Even with unlimited Vision, you will get charged for the data of uploading/sending images. Rotten little...

Look at that!! I can actually understand something! Maybe I'm not as dumb as I think (although the odds of that are long)!
I was just reading a thread about MobiTV2 which sounds like a new Mobi app all together. I wonder if that will be the way to go. This news item seems to say it's available now, but the other thread said they can't find it. Maybe I'll go look for it now and see what it's all about.

I have downgraded from Ultimate to Plus and tonight will add the sprint tv Live thing. :)
THANKS!

With the new A940/A920 there is no point for me to have picture mail. I can transfer pictures to my laptop through bluetooth/memory card real quick.
