View Full Version : ASL fee listed on plan details after 5 years

Yesterday I went online to see how much I owed Sprint. I always check out my plan details to make sure that nothing has changed. I checked out my primary phone and to my surprise an ASL fee was listed.

I have had my phone for 5 years now so why would I have this listed on my plan details. I thought that that was a legimate question for Sprint, so I called *2. They couldn't see what I was seeing. They kept telling me that that was from 2001. I said that this was never on my plan details before. Still no help.

Today, I got home from work (1 1/2 hours ago) and I have a letter from Sprint that they have run my credit because I recently applied. I have done no such thing.

I called *2 and was told that they know nothing about it. The rep told me to take the letter into the Sprint store and see if they could check it out.

Has this ever happened to anyone here? Any thoughts on the matter.

Thanks

my friend just applied at sprint and has asl. they sent her the same letter. that means someone has opened a new account at sprint in your name. i would look into it as it sounds fishy like identity theft and fraud. stop it while it's early if thats what the case is so it can prevent the same from happening to us

Did you get set up with an employee discount?

others have had "ASL Fee" listed in their plan details recently. Apparently its a very old code from years ago when sprint experimented with charging a fee for that. It went away, just like being charged to talk to a human on *2 did and being billed for minutes when calling *4!

I think CSWORKER may be on to something if you recently added a business type discount, as it requires a fully new account to be established. That MAY be the notice they ran your credit.

I have made no changes for quite a while now. My contract was up at the end of november.
