here's the story:
me and my sister are good friends with a sprint sales associate, and she's looking to get her first phone. we're thinking of signing her up through the sero program, as it seems to be a pretty darn good deal. secondly, she works for taco bell(still in hs), and was wondering whether she'd be able to apply whatever discount she gets for working there once she is signed up?
i've been w/ sprint for some time, and recently started working part time for ups(holiday season), so i get whatever discount they're giving out(20%?). would i be able to re-sign up through the sero/inphonic deal once my contract is up in august?
thanks in advance...

As a Sprint employee high up barked to me once... "you can't double dip the chip!"... by chip, they mean discounts. So, no.
Conflicting reports of business discount with SERO. I think it has alot to do with how the rep does it.
Sprint is not calling the SERO plans "discounted" plans, though the $30 plan cant be making them anything when they throw in vision.
I'll ask my "business rep" if he knows if its forbidden on SERO plans or if it happens still. Should have a firm answer this afternoon!

It's not allowed, but possible, I'll put it that way. SERO is just a plan just like any other plan. However, they have told people to not business discount... back to the "double dipping" standard. Can you get someone to do it? Sure. Can any it be removed at any CSR at any time? Sure... that's part of a CSR's job.
Yeah its called account review. Technically I cant have the 3 % off discounts I have together on one plan, yet an eCare rep gave me the 3rd with no problem. If another rep choose to remove something an eCare rep gave me and said I was "qualified" for, sprint would have some explaining to do.
A rep could be upset with a customer who is being "rude" in their opinion and star expiring freebies on plans and removing discounts. The likely result would be the rep who removed them being reprimanded and the account being restored.
I've personally had reps tell me that my plan was set up wrong and to fix it they were going to make my 2nd line a $20 AAP and charge me $15 for vision on that line. I have laughed at them and told them it was set up that way by retentions, its part of my retention offering, and changing it would to be be a breach of my contract. Its funny when you say things in that way they suddenly decide its all fine! :deal: :wavey:

but - what if one were to sign up through the sero program(having never been a customer), then try add the discount later?

Its not supposed to be combined, but some reps will add it anyways. Its similar to the fact that your only supposed to get one discount but some people end up with 3 like me.
In all honesty, I would be happy with a SERO plan without a discount. If you can in the future (a week, a month, whatever) get a business discount added to it then good for you :)
The offical answer is they are not "supposed" to be combined. Sorry for the delay in response. :wavey:

Ok, call me stupid - but I can't figure it out. What are these SERO plans?

SERO, being short for serotonin - meaning that if you sign up you will encounter a rush of serotonin to your blood stream and be very happy and hyper.
okay, so that's completly not true. here's what sero's really about: sprint.com/sero

Got it - now I understand what SERO is. And I do have a friend that's a Sprint store rep... Can these plans be used for an existing customer and for a family plan? Or just new customers and single lines?

here's what the CSR said when i emailed about whether i would be eligible(i am a current customer, my contract is up in august...):
Existing customers out of contract who renew a Two-year Subscriber Agreement are also eligible for this offer.
Existing customers still in a subscriber agreement who want to switch to this Plan are required to activate a new line of service with a 2-year commitment and a new phone number.
If cancelling your existing Sprint account, early termination fees apply if you are within the contract period.
i'm thinking of signing up w/ a new number, and giving the old phone to a friend for a few months, then transferring it to her name.
i don't have a family plan(don't much like my family;)), so i didn't inquire about that. try emailing SERO_program@sprint.com, that is what is listed on sprint.com/sero as the contact address for further questions. responses take a day or so, and are sometimes not very complete, but it's better than nothing. i presume ecare would be a bit better.

I switched to the SERO plans today. We just don't use nearly all of our minutes. It is upposed to take effect 1/23, so when I see my bill I will see if my business discount sticks.
If it dosen't, I may have made a mistake. I guess I'll call and complain that I was told it would stay.

yes i too would like to know. i called business customer care and they told me it had to be done through the website which i know is wrong. even a supervisor told me that. my wife is still within the 14 day trial so i could cancel both of ours and still be $50 better with the $100 service credits i can get through verizon for both new activations.
i called 888-788-4727. is there a different number i should call?

I sent a simple message to ecare asking them to change my plan to the $30 SERO plan. I was one year into my 2-year agreement (still under contract). I gave no refrerral name/address. They gave me the plan.

ecare has confirmed that the my business account will still be applied. This makes the $30 SERO plan only $22.50/month!

about a day. i'd give them a while though, they probably get alot of messages over the weekend and it takes them a while to catch up. once they respond, you can reply to their actual response and get a very quick reply.

Can anyone tell me how you go about switching from a personal to a business account? I have tried calling "Customer Care" and got hung up on twice. I have four phones on the account and have been with them for over 7 years so I figure I should be able to get a better deal on a business account.
Thanks,
Doc

Tell Claire "business representative" and when a rep answers the line confirm it is the business dept or asked to be transfered to the business side :tu:

i called a regular sprint CR and got something close to a sero plan for both of my lines. one line was out of contract another still had a year left...
i got
500 min
sprint to sprint
n/w at 7 for $5
unlimited internet (when i asked for unlimited powervision they didnt give it to me)
22% business discount...
i signed a 2 year contract
this is a good way to get ur business discount to go through... because technically its not a sero plan since theres no power vision
i have a question tho: i have a non power vison phone right now...
im planning on using my 150 $ discount and get the a920 (maybe for free with a primematch at my sprint store :)... what happens when i try to use vision on that phone will it be like slow speed or the EVDO?
