Well im about sold on the mm9000 but i wanted to know this.

I want to be able to download off the internet 30 min to 40 min church services and then listen to them at a later time on my car.

Now i know with the treo 650 this can be done easy but today i asked a few store reps and they had no clue weather the 900 or the mm9000 can d this.

So my question is simple can the mm9000 or the 900 download 30-40 stories off the net and be listened to at a later time.

Thanks.

In what format are they available on the Internet? For example, if they are .mp3 or .m4a (MP4/AAC) files, you can simply copy them to your miniSD card and play them in the phone's Media Player.

I was just looking and most seem to be in mp3 form.So i would download them to the mini sd right? and how would i get the content to it would i have to hook up cables or just go online via the phone and download to it from the phone?

The MM-9000 comes with a USB cable, which serves several different purposes including the easy transfer of files to the miniSD card. (You could also use a memory card reader to write to the card separately.)

With respect to downloading or playing the file directly from Internet to MM-9000:

On pod2mob.com, each audio file is available in formats marked as AMR, AAC, and MP3. The MM-9000 can play the first two of these directly from the Internet, but not the third. Sorry.

You can possibly stream it to your phone in realtime using orb as well as download it to the memory card in advance (but you need a computer for that - the phone is driverless though, it works just like a USB thumb drive.)

As of right now orb is kind of hit or miss on this phone though (some phones work, some don't) but I am trying to work with the developer of orb to get it working fully. You can also use orb to stream radio stations as well, whenever this phone will work with orb that is.

It is possible that in the future you may be able to download MP3 files via the internet to your minisd card using opera mini, though I am not sure of whether or not we can count on that feature being available.

Yes, you can transfer it to the mini-SD card, just as easily as with the Treo. If you have a card reader, you just insert the mini-SD and move the files onto it. If not, just connect the USB cable between the phone and computer and transfer the mp3s that way.

Before connecting the phone to the computer, flip open the phone. When you make the connection, the phone should bring up a menu offering the choices of PictBridge (sending photos directly to a printer), Mass Storage (treat the phone and its miniSD card as a portable disk drive), and Modem/Standby (treat the phone as a modem or a phonebook repository). To copy files to the miniSD card, choose Mass Storage.

Put .mp3 files into the Media folder, and then you can play them with the Media Player. (Someone has claimed that if you put .mp3 files into the Music folder, you can play them with the Music Store application instead. Why you would want to do this I do not know.)
