Went from a VM4500 to a Samsung A900 and went online to my content manager to download my games and it says:
You have unsubscribed from this content. Rights to all related items in your content manager will be lost at the end of this subscription prtiof, on unlimited.
Then it gives me the option to download the ames and whe I try it says

Applications and games can be phone-specific. A lot of the applications I loved on my 8100, 8200, and 4920 don't work on the 8300 (I miss my Daily Dilbert!!). I also cannot find a version of Bejeweled that works right.
So I think what happened was you bought rights to those versions of those games. You have no way of using those rights, so you forfeited them.

That doesn't seem fair I paid a lot of money for those 10+ games.

Thank you for contacting Sprint together with Nextel regarding download
of ringers.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused to you.
I understand your concern and would like to inform you that the content
manager options have a license period. Once the period is expired you
can not down load any thing.
These options expire after ninety days. Now you will have to purchase
these options again.
Please feel free to write back if you have any further questions. I
will be more than happy to assist you.
What kind of BS answer is that. I didnt pay to download something for only 90 days, and besides at one point my phone broke and I had redownload all the games and it had passed a year.

After you said that, I tried tetris and now it works. It didnt work 2 days ago.
Ok out of 10 games I have, I was only able to get bejeweled and Tetris to download. All the others say they arent supported. And what is weird is the phone game with a demo of MS-Pacman and when I try to download the full one I paid for it says its not supported. On a side note the Tetris version seems newer then what I had.

You all cant change pricing plans on downloadable games without notice
with a
customer under a contract. I want to see a written documentation of
this.
And we arent talking about pricing plans anyways we are talking about
accessing a service Ive already paid for.

Dear Howard,
Thank you for writing back.
Yes, you are absolutely correct.
Just to let you know that beginning September 1, 2005 the pricing and
plans have been changed. This might have been the reason that you were
able to download a year later.

Ok, so why was I able to redownload my games a year later on the
replacement
phone but not on my new phone. This seems like a shady practice, you
basically took my money for games that I can no longer access. Thats
like me
buying a new computer and saying sorry all your old games wont work on
it.

Dear Howard,
Yes, you are correct in saying that you have re-downloaded the contents
on your replacement phone. You can definitely download any application
free of cost, anytime from your Content Manager within the license
period. They are there on your online account. These applications are
charged only for once, when you actually download them first to your
Content Manager.
I understand your concern and would like to inform that the ringers,
games, screen savers and other downloads are provided by the Third Party
Content Providers. They are responsible for framing of the charges. We
do charge for the downloads on their behalf only for the convenience of
the customers so that you are not required to make upfront payment for
the downloads and the charges are applied on your invoices.
Sprint do not have any say in their pricing policy for a particular
download. However, I have forwarded your concern to the appropriate
department and they will definitely look into this matter and would take
necessary steps so that others are benefited.
I would be happy to help you with any further concerns that you may
have. Have a nice day!

period when I first got them, and I know for a fact they lasted longer
then 90
days, because I had my Sanyo 4500 for a year with a bunch of games, it
broke

lot of
money for all those games.

Here is one possibility, whether you agree with its logic or not.
Let's say a company makes an initial version of a game such as Tetris. Let's say you buy the game for your Samsung VGA1000 (A620). Let's even say that at the time, the contract for the game does not have a specific time limit--i.e., it appears to be a flat purchase.
As long as you still have that VGA1000, you can indeed re-download the game. But when you switch to a much newer, more capable phone such as the A900, there is a gotcha! The gamemaker will claim that the version you purchased was a simple version (e.g., 1.0) of the game. That simple version will not run properly on the A900 at all. The gamemaker has a newer, more capable version of the game that runs properly on the A900, but the gamemaker says that you did not pay for this newer version, only the old one.
Half of this logic actually makes sense. It is true that you did not buy the newer version, you bought the old one. You have no right to the new capabilities present in the new version. However...
The old version you bought, like all the software in Sprint's Vision library, was a Java application. Java was specifically designed for portability, and hence--one might claim--customers have a right to assume that any Java application is portable (or will be made portable through the bug-fixing process) unless the vendor explicitly disclaims portability. Thus, one might argue that the gamemaker has an obligation to make some reasonable effort to port the game you purchased to your new phone model, and then to let you download it. Typically, such a game actually will run on your phone unmodified anyway, simply in a subwindow (of the size of your old phone's screen).
To protect themselves, frankly, the legal description of Vision software should clearly say that the software is not warranted to run on any model of phone other than the one for which it was purchased. Customers can then take this into account when deciding whether to purchase it at all.
Customers should also be able to find out, easily, which Vision software runs on a given phone model before buying that model. Right now, there is no easy way to get this information, because the Catalog displays only the software downloadable for your current model. It offers no way to get the list for a different model that you are considering.
