OK I know I've discussed this problem a little in another thread, but I am askng a different question now. Basically my 5600 (which I just bought about 3 months ago) stopped being able to save pictures to the phone itself (Will save to the miniSD fine) and all the downloads erased. Whenever I try to save a pic to the phone or download everything the phone turns itself off then back on. On Monday I took it into the Sprint store, they took it in back, and they came out saying that they couldn't fix it so they have to order a warranty replacement. They said an available 5600 hasn't been in the system for over 2 weeks, and that it could take months before I get a replacement. I don't think that's reasonable at all for a warranty replacement. How long do you guys think is a reasonable time to give them before I start "demanding" (and I put that in quotes) something like a 9000 (of which they have 1 in stock) from them? Really, I think anything more than a month's wait is rediculous. Any suggestions or opinions?
P.S.- They offered me an 8300 and a 7400 as a replacement. I told them to get out of here!
P.P.S.- I could claim insurance, but don't want to pay $50.

thats been a common problem with the newer sanyos. my 7400 did that and one day it just wouldnt turn back on. they must have a problem with whoever supplies the memory for the phone.
as for a replacement, i highly doubt there are any 5600s left. there may be a few, but they are probably crappy refurbs that dont work either. i would go back to the store and demand they give you a phone of equal value. you paid a lot of money for a 5600, and you shouldnt have to take a lesser, cheaper model for a replacement

Ok, just thought I'd update ya'll. I called CS and told them what the Sprint store said. The lady ordered me a warranty replacement for my 5600 and said it would come in the mail in 3-5 business days. She said they will try and get a 5600 but if none are in stock she made a note to send the 9000. She was very nice. I just hope I get either one of them. I don't care which, though. I'll get back as soon as I receive it in the mail...

hey guys.., the other day my MM-5600 fell and the screen just turned white.. the lcd cracked... so i called the CS and i told them everything, and they said that we gonna try to get me MM-5600, but if there isnt any then we gonna give u a similar one.. and i kinda argued and said to the lady.. " the only similer phone to 5600 is the 9000". So she said that its not up to her.. and she said that it will arrive in mail at friday.. So guys can u tell me what phone u think they will give me? i wish either i get the mm-5600 or 9000 :fingers: ...

given the size of the screen, the 9000 has the most comparable features, although it is a pretty significant upgrade from the 5600, which I personally had before I went to my current 9000...if you guys get 9000's for your 5600's you better right some thank you letters because the 9000 is better than the 5600 in almost every way, and trust me, I loved my 5600 while I had it...the arguments you need to make in terms of the feature set are QVGA and RL...
once your phones tests as failed in the sprint store, if they give you guff about timing on a replacement, just have them note the account, take your phone and leave...at that point you can call CS, who are usually a lot more reasonable than the stores, and they will set up the replacement phone, as well as sending you an envelope and RMA# to return your broken one...I've done it before and it's a pretty easy process...also, 3-5 business days for Sprint often comes in 1-2 days...I've usually been pleasantly surprised with their shipping...

i hope you are talking about lockline. sprint doesnt replace damaged phones. its not sanyo's nor sprints fault that you dropped your phone.
on the other hand, if sprint, not lockline, did order you a warranty replacement, they will send you a return kit. and when they get your phone back and see that the reason the screen isnt working is because it was dropped and cracked, you will be charged the full price for the replacement phone

if the phone is on "back order", it obviously means that they dont have any, and they are waiting to get them in. if you are waiting for a 5600, you will be waiting a while, if not forever, because the phone has been discontinued. you also have to realize that if they did ship it out this week, its the busiest time of the year for ups, so it may take a while

I've campaigned against Sprint on this one repeatedly...
COMPARABLE is black and white... the word "COMPARABLE" comes from compare and might be reworded into "compare-able"... I interpret this to mean "EQUAL TO OR BETTER THAN."
It would be completely unfair to offer a replacement that is less than comparable to the original product... And its black and white: If the original product has a QVGA screen, the replacement must also have a QVGA screen.
I get EXTREMELY aggrivated when they try and pull this stuff... An 8300 for a 5600? No way.
This is the easiest way to see what is truly comparable: A side to side comparison http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/compare.php?id%5B%5D=632&id%5B%5D=815&id%5B%5D=631&id%5B%5D=749&id%5B%5D=

You guys must remember, to Sprint, QVGA isn't a feature. Neither is EV-DO.
RL, Camera, Speakerphone, blah blah. Those are features. Not a screen. That much, they could care less about. So if you get another 5600 or 9000, then you got lucky. The normal situation just doesn't go that way.

hey guys.. i got my replacement phone and im not too happy with it!!! I received a MM-7400. This is the ugliest phone i ever seen... and im really pissed... i called them back and told them that the 7400 does not even get close to 5600.. i told them that 1) the camera is not MP.. its a VGA. 2) It doesn not have music player.. 3) it has no internal memory.. 4) The phone is soo ugly.. its like a contruction phone.. So CS said that he requested a 5600 for me and its gonna be at my house 1-3 days... i think its a bul**** cuz i no its gonna take more then a week!!!

if it's less than one year old, AND IT DOESN'T SHOW SIGNS OF ABUSE, you know scratches and stuff like that, they'll assume there's something wrong with the phone and they'll replace it for sure at a sprint store. I think!
