Okay, I just spent a good 20 minutes using Sprints new "online help" chat thingy.. I was trying to find out if I opted to get the 25.00 "Phone as modem" option, if I'd still have to have a Power Vision Package. I was told that I would not.
First, this doesn't "sound" right, but I wanted to see if this was the case. If it is, I'm debating it, as (I'm guessing), it'd only be 12.50 since it's on a sub-line (if they even let you do the 50% deall with this option).
Anyhow -- I'm not even in an EVDO market, so I wouldn't benefit from the speeds, but if I did go somewhere w/ EVDO it'd be nice to use it w/ my laptop.
I do have a few questions though, maybe someone can offer some answers.
First - if you do get the Phone as Modem pack, do you still need to get a Power Vision Pack (ie: 20.00 for Power Vision Plus Pack, AND 25.00 for Phone as Modem) - I'm almost sure, based on what I've seen, that you need both, but I want to make sure.
Second - since I'm not in an EVDO area right now, if I did not have the Phone as Modem feature, and I tethered, would I be charged (I'm guessing the Phone as Modem feature is geared more at you using it as a modem in EVDO areas), and honestly, once again, I wouldn't use it very much at home (in the 1xrtt area I'm in) - but would I need the Phone as Modem option, or could I get away w/ it, as was the case with some of the "pre #777" disabled phones.
In this regard, would I be using it via the data cable, or via Bluetooth? I have everything setup so that it can use DUN w/ my PC, but which method would be more prone to throwing up a "flag" if I did use it as a modem w/o the Phone as Modem Package.
I don't have a problem with adding the feature, if need be, but I just wanted to get a general idea.
I understand that for the 1st month its unlimited, and after that it's 40MB and like .01 or .02/kb up to a max of 70 bucks - does this apply to only usage under EVDO, or usage with evdo AND non-evdo?
Sorry if my question didnt make sense, I was in a rush - I may "clean it up" a bit later on. I'm sure the just of it got across however.
Thanks!
