The warning came up and told me data charges would be incurred for it. So I'm pretty sure it uses vision cuz a VoiceSMS sends the same way a picture mail sends and the power vision arrows come up.
I've been sending voice sms to my bro on his ppc-6700 it's great. He can send them back too.

It's on the Sanyo 9000 also. Is it actually sending your voice, or are you speaking and it's translating it into text to send to the other user ?

Ah okay... Not something I personally would be interested in, but none the less a neat new feature.

Both my 900 and 940 can do this. I would assume the 920 can as well.

I did this the other day. Its not phone specific, I dont think.. I believe it can be done by anyone who can send a txt msg. But if you want it to get to your recipient in a timely manner, dont use it. I sent a message to my folks that I was on my way to their house, which is a 4 hour drive. It didnt get to them until several hours after I got to their house.. prolly around a total of 7 hours later. Then I got a txt msg saying that standard charges apply and such and that I could use the feature for free for a short while. Since I have unlimited sms msgs I guess I wont be charged for it.

Voice SMS is basically like a voicemail clip (I think about 30 seconds) that gets sent to your phone in stead of you having to call and retreve your vm from the network. It is alot more convienient than calling and checking your voicemail, but not all phone are capable of doing it.
