I've got the Samsung A940 and I have the basic Vision package. It says that it includes 'unlimited instant messaging and e-mail.' So anyways from the Main Menu I clicked on Messaging and then IM & Email and then AOL. Then the phone connects to the internet and gives me some options regarding AOL Instant Messenger. The featured link is for a download for AIM for $2.99/month. I've clicked on 'Buy' several times and it never seems to download. When I click the other link listed, the one for 'AOL IM,' it asks me to insert my Screenname and Password. After I do that it takes me to another screen where it says "Enter Proxy Pass..." The 'User Name' field is filled in by default with my vision ID but the password box is blank.

What do I do?
Is the password my Vision password?
If so, do I have to call customer service and acquire it?
Is it listed anywhere on my account page on sprint.com?

How are the rest of you guys with the A940 using AOL Instant Messenger?
Are any of you all able to download the application?

please...any help would really be appreciated, I'm paying for a service that I can't seem to take advantage of.. :indiff:

The Vision Proxy screen is a glitch, we can call it. They are supposedly working on an update to fix that.

I've been using a version of AIM for a different Samsung model, the A680 or something... I can't remember. It's kind of annoying anyway. It vibrates AND beeps every time you get an IM and you can't turn that off. Errrg. I'm probably going to switch over to IM Forwarding on my 940 because of that. It gets annoying fast.

How are you using a different version of AIM (A680 version)?
Is it kind of like Opera Mini where you have the .jar and .jad files which you upload somewhere and then download from your phone?

I use the AIM on the Vision, it gives you a link at the Messenging part, comes as a text message, doesnt cost anything. and doesnt make that stupid beeping noise
