I've been trying for a long while now to get Yahoo! SMS (text messaging version) available for Sprint PCS. I want to be able to use Yahoo by signing in by texting: in [your Yahoo! ID] [password] to 92466. I'm sure many of us Yahoo users want this feature available too. It'll be much more convient to use compared to the WAP version or the application version you have to pay for.
The WAP version does a poor job of notifiying you of new messages and when you refresh, you sign in and out. Very annoying to your friends who see you do that everytime you refresh the page.
As far as the application version goes, not very good at notifying you of new messages either when you close it. Also its a pain to launch when vision is being worked on. Making it so you lose all your messages because there's trouble with the network. Not to mention, I keep it running all day long because that's how i text my girlfriend and it kills my battery in 2 hours. Not fun when you're on the go and don't have anywhere to charge your phone.
I've been bugging yahoo customer care to see if they would make it available for us Sprint users. The farthest I've gotten is this:
"Hello,
Thank you for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care.
We appreciate your feedback regarding Yahoo! Mobile. We will forward
your comments onto our Product development team for review.
Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care.
Regards,

I figure with Sprint and Nextel already merged it'll be more likely it'll be available to us since Nextel has Yahoo! text messaging version available to them.
If you would please help me out and email yahoo at mobile-feedback@cc.yahoo-inc.com and request that they make Yahoo! text messaging version available for Sprint that would be great. With lots of requests, maybe they'll finally make that feature available to us all.
Thanks!!
