Can we get this guy banned for trolling these boards and starting worthles threads? Maybe if we all report it to the mods. This type of behavior should ot be tollerated. Step it up mods!

No, don't ban him. I don't want any excuses as to why he isn't around when the 6600 gets an EVDO update.

you should be banned and you should investigated by sprint for stating that you will hack their system to gain access to evdo on a 1x device.

Only proves the lack of attention some get in "real life."

Again, Sprint doesn't care if I hack it or not. It's not a big deal.

so you said, sprint does not care if i care if i hack a devce on their network. are you for real? their internal security sure cares. its becuase of people like you with your sheer arrogance and entitlement that is the main reason why sprint probably decided not to release the update.
so you cant get a legal one and you have to hack one? the 6600 will be history by the end of the year. dying a death as slow as its 144 modem. to be buried in a 1x grave. :bang:

Man, you are smoking some serious crack. You can beleive what you want. I really don't care. I know my 6600 will always be worth SOMETHING. The G1000's are selling right now on ebay for between $150 and $200. And the G1000 has been seriously outdated for over a year now.
The 6600 won't be outdated for quite some time. I can't beleive you actually expect people to beleive that the 6600 will be rendered obsolete by a device that does not perform as well as the the 6600. LOL. I could see if the 6700 was FASTER or MORE POWERFUL, but it's NOT. It's SLOWER, the screen is SMALLER, there is NO picture or video mail, there's a HUGE antenna, the camera BARELY works (you have to hold it steady for several seconds after you snap a picture in order to get a good shot), the picture files are in some proprietary format that nobody's computer can open without installing a third party app and converting it, and the memory cards cost more while not holding as much data.
If you think that device is going to render the 6600 obsolete then you are a fool. As my dad used to say, "A fool and his money will soon part." So go out and buy yourself a 6700. By the way, I see the price has already dropped on the 6700 by $50. it must be from the huge demand, LOL.

I think people should be able to post. Sometimes things will work out after time.

Dont take this personally, but I have to defend my 6700 here a little bit.......
As far as the camera goes.....They cannot even be compared....The 6700 cam blows away my 6600's cam.....Holding it still for a little while longer is a sacrifice I am willing to take to get a much better quality picture.....The pictures look as good as pics I have seen taken with the sanyo 9000 on this site and that is pretty good for a ppc.
The antenna is really not a big deal at all.....The stylus actually goes in it......The phone is extremely comfortable to talk on.....Feels great in the hand......
Why they didnt go with a regular SD card for this one is beyond me.....Def. a bad move!
While the device is not as responsive as the 6600, it is still do-able......It is like a samsung A800 to a Sanyo 5600....The Sammy's gui was slower but it wasn't the biggest of deals......Wouldn't have even noticed if I didn't use the 5600.
Sure the screen is smaller.....This is a good thing and a bad thing depending on what you are looking for and is going to be different for every user.....I loved the large screen of the 6600......Browsing was a joy.....Watching movies was a joy......When I first got the 6700 was I dissapointed in the size....Not really.....The screen is smaller but still has the same resolution making the screen sharper. The same amount of info is on the screen, just in a smaller text. A sacrifice if you want a smaller sleeker looking device. The screen is still larger then any non-pda phone you are going to buy and does the job well........
I couldn't care less about the whole picture thing anyway......I usually just pull it of my device when it is synced. So it has no effect on my whatsoever. I have never even used pic mail and I had a camera phone ever since the day the Sammy A600 was released. So I am sure there are many others who feel the same way, but I am sure there are many others who don't.
Wi-FI is really not a big deal for me. EV-DO is just fine. Besides, even if you are hooked up to wi-fi, the device can only work so fast anyway. It will not load a page as fast as your pc on a network. It only has a 416mhz processor compared to 2gig pentium 4's. So built in WI-FI, no big deal to me......I haven't been anywhere there is no signal to get ev-do. Maybe if I get to that spot and there is wi-fi available, it will be a big deal then.
The total deal breaker for me is EV-DO. If a update came out for the 6600 before I purchased the 6700 I probabaly would have never even looked at one.....If an ev-do update comes out for the 6600 before I sell it, will I go back to the 6600? No. I kind of like my 6700 and think I will miss it if I got rid of it.....What I would do is try to convince my fiance to take the 6600 so I can have the best of both worlds.....The way I look at it. Both devices are great and each has its advantages and dissadvantages. The 6600, even on 1x is pretty quick. Even using orb on the 6600 looked great. It would stream at 115kbs on the 1x network. That is a fine speed to stream at. The 6600 w/ ev-do becomes one bad motha!
This response king of became my review that I was going to post, so I guess I wont have to post that now......Either way, I have love for both of these devices. They are both winners in my eyes....(tear dripping down my face)

Whatever man. This is all nothing but your uneducated opinion.
Sprint has NO plans to drop the 6601. A lot of businesses won't allow camera phones in. The 6601 is for these business customers.
So, are you implying that Sprint is planning on excluding a lot of business customers from payiong for EVDO? Now THAT would be stupid.
And there is a lot LESS of a chance Sprint will update the 6700 than the 6600.

No worries man. I have nothing against the 6700 and I would probably even get a couple if they had Picture Mail and Video mail, and you didn't have to hold the camera still for a few seconds after taking a pic.
I just wanted to provide an argument as to why the 6600 won't be obsolete next week like this clown keeps saying...

Every time I see that clown post I have to bite my tongue and just move on......Ignoring him is getting easier by the minute......The 6600 is far from being absolete......I think it has a allot of life in it.......WM5 really has nothing on 2003se that a little backup and restore couldn't fix.......wonder why the clown still hasn't changed his name......Guess deep down inside he still thinks the 6600 rules!

Why do you keep making these posts. Who cares if an ev-do update comes out for the 660x. You say you alredy have a 6700 then don't worry about it. That is a problem for all the 660x users.

****, I used a Tohiba 2032SP up to the beginning of this year... I can squeeze at least a year out of the 6600.
