you would think they would! I believe Nextel's Blackberry does, and the Readylink is merely an issue of software (since it is VoIP). If anyone does it it will be blackberry. The Treo is palm and 6700 is Audiovox and neither has ever made a Ready link/DC phone.

It is very likely that when SPRINT intros Dual Mode next year ir is enritrely possible that there will be multipule units. Which could inclued a PDA version. However, I would think that the first verions will be bar and clamshell.

Don't bee so fast to jump on the BLACKBERRY bandwagon! I honestly think that we could see TREO make a run at it also. nothing is def. but I would not count anyone out at this point!

Orange in the UK has been using Push to Talk on the Treo since the 600. Don't be surprised if you see a future Treo with PTT.

Like I said, it's too early to count anyone out of this. But, I would think woth NEXTELs long time relationship with BLACKBERRY, and SPRINTs with the TREO it will be interesting to see who gets it....

And dont forget NEXTELS relationship with MOTO! They have a PDA called the Q which you can also throw into the mix...

well, and adding that little button on the side (hardware too). ;)
assuming of course it would function like all other RL phones so far. I had heard a couple of years ago that Cingular customer could download an app that would give them similar on existing phones. maybe this is what you're talking about but for Sprint.

i think the would get so many more customers with a pda with RL.

I think it would definitely help. The only reason I added a line was so I could still keep RL on my account with my OLD 5500. My new line is a PPC6600 (with no RL).

Readylink in it's current form will die when NEXTEL users come over to CDMA.

:headbang2 RL or DC or Qchat or Whatever they're going to call it will most likely be free after 2010 when the "new network" is born. By then iDen will be for the feds and CDMA will become more powerful. To keep up Sprint will most likely make all their handsets with a PPT solution just as nextel does now.

That is a good theory. The only thing is there will not be a "new network" as you call it. And as far as CDMA being "more powerful" that will take money, and they may be able to make the "new readylink" work without too much investment in my opinion. There will be a dual mode handset next year that will have IDEN for PTT and CDMA for voice calls.
