I am leaning towards the new 6700. I work for one of the Big Three automotive companies (will leave the name unkown...). The only way I have ever been able to remotely access my email is thru my blackberry 7100t and using the desktop redirector and leaving my computer on at work.

My corporate policy requires us to use the RSA SecurID when accessing any corporate servers thru the web. At home I can use my personal computer and log in thru ipass connect and then my SecurID to get in the VPN.

So what I need to know is if I buy the 6700 will I be able to set it up like the Blackberry where I get email automatically on my handheld or will I have to go into OWA to check it (which isn't really what I want).

Any help you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

You should first ask your IT support. Your VPN client is likely one that has been tested and authorized. Be very very careful in accessing your corporate networks with software that has not been approved by your company. You could be fired. I know all three companies have a policy for VPN access. Blackberry connections are different than VPN connections. I'm not saying it can't be done, just be smart and ask first.

Get the 6700 anyway. VPN or no you will still be happy with it.

The only product i could find for our work that supports VPN and Securid did not support the 6700. Either we have to wait longer, or buy an older phone thats supported. Otherwise just run bizcon.

Yea, I couldn't get around my VPN client at all. I tried everything. It is a known issue. It automatically disconnects when you try to ras in. I use my OWA to sync all my important contacts/email. It is much better than Biz Connection which doesn't work great with the 6700 yet.

The only thing that I can not sync is my tasks which I automatically go to the office to connect to. Otherwise, it works perfect :)

I have the Treo 650. Anyone know a way to VPN+SecurID in with it? I use a Nortel client at home to VPN in.
