I have a 5500 with the cracked hinge and no store within 2 hours seems to be willing or able to repair it. Would it be possible for me to overnight it to another store to have it repaired? The phone should still be under warranty but I dont wanna risk an ESN change with all the crap that happens to the rebate program.
Thanks

I had the same problem, and the store reps are useless, they wanted nothing to do with me because I didn't want new service. They claimed I damaged the phone when clearly it was a manufacture defect. Finally ended up buying a used one on ebay. Sprint was no help at all and I even tried Sanyo and they were just ugly with me. Unless a tech can fix it, but I don't think they have spare parts. good luck

There is a new program called ESRP, its $3 and covers most anything. You can enroll anytime before December 31. Get Customer Service to add it to your account and if you come into a store with ESRP they have to replace everything except water damage, 3 or more pieces and (of course) lost or stolen. In our store we have mostly just been throwing that on peoples accounts and replacing whatever...

If they replace your phone under ESRP or warranty it should not affect rebates. Just ask the rep who swaps out your phone to notate they account that this is a warranty replacement and customer is eligable for rebates from time of original purchase. ~Yours truly, a worthless Sprint rep.

I have the ESRP it was added by one of the stores I stopped at to try to get the hinge repaired. Only problem is that the hinge was broken before the ESRP was added so it looks to me like that store was attempting to commit fraud. And since I am sure there are notes on my account concerning the broken hinge I figure if I go to a store now to just swap it out there will be a fraud acusation.

No, stores are fully aware of this and it is a necessary consequence of inplimenting a new policy. I know at our store we put the ESRP on at the same time as we swap out the phone. If that is an issue, put your charger in the phone and yank down really hard, go to the store and get it replaced for another reason. :tu:

Went to the local store and the tech disappeared with my phone to the back. I thought he was replacing the hinge but turns out he was transferring my phone book to a refurbed replacement. Kinda sux cause other then the busted hinge my phone was perfect I still had the plastic covering the screens.
Gonna wait awhile and call CS and make sure the notes on my account for my rebate didnt get screwed up
